    AF Daily - Monday, January 10th

    Good morning peeps!

    Started the Monday off great. I had the coffee maker set on Auto to start this morning and forget to put the carafe underneath...coffee everywhere. Lovely. Thank God I'm not hungover or this would really ruin my whole day. But, more water..more coffee and I've got a nice hot mug infront of me.

    My little kitten who I have nicknamed "Cujo Kitty" has killed another mouse last night. What a good girl, she is quite the hunter. Two nights in a row now. With the cold the mice and squirrels are looking for anyway in they can and get into everything. Being in the country, that's expected.

    I hope everyone had a really relaxing Sunday. We went outside in the packy snow and built a "Unicorn Princess Snow Castle". It's pretty cute, decorated and everything with shells and such, she loves it. Hopefully it will last a few days or more so we can play in it.

    AFM, congrats my friend on the new Contract! Woohoo!! I was so happy when I read that.

    Morning fabbie abbies!

    BB, thanks for the start... No carafe.... ugh... however, isn't it pleasantly different without a hangover. No full blown drama when a simple "feck!" will do. I would love a virtual tour of your place. Even better, "a day in the life" especially when you are in high gear cooking mode. I'd like to see DG's treehouse and orchard and Lav's chickens and LVT's farm, M3's new kitchen, Uni's cottage, det's high desert..... to get a real look at everyone's little world would be fascinating.

    Here's a question... in a snowstorm, can there be lightening and thunder? Was that real what I saw/heard in the wee hours? We are getting WAAAAAAAY more than predicted. I love the deafening silence of a snowstorm.

    Sart your week off well and smile at strangers.

    Oh and jenny&eric.... CONGRATULATIONS ON 3 WEEEKS!!

      Good morning, guys!

      I want to EAT in all these places. ; ) Seriously, it would be lovely to meet around someone's kitchen table at some point.

      Stepkids back off to college this morning. It's been nice having everyone around, but frankly, my tolerance for eight people in the house is wearing thin. As the oldest member of the household with boobs, the cooking, cleaning, and logistics, ie, making sure there are enough clean towels, has pretty much fallen to me

      Oops--editing here because every time I tab down, I end up posting before I'm finished.

      We haven't really had a snowstorm that amounted to anything yet; I think this one's coming our way, though. P3, there's a free vpn tool called "Log Me In" that lets you access your work computer from home. Even I could set it up without deferring to my kids. It comes in handy when I forget to email something I need from the office. Did I mention "free" ; )? You can pile on the couch with your computer and DDs and literally have a "Three Dog Night"!

      Lav, praying to the weather Gods that your diaper cake gets to be proudly displayed next weekend. Maybe you could arrange a plan B (like postponing a week) as the weather outlook becomes clearer. I'm sure the caterers aren't going to want to drive over in a blizzard, either. When is your daughter due?

      Jen, CONGRATS on 3 weeks, and welcome!

      Lots of warm support to LVT, Chief, and Lily, wrestling with life's ups and downs a little more than the rest of us right now.

              Hey Pride - going OK thanks! How are you?

              I'm trying to quit smoking now to go with my sobriety....why is all the fun stuff bad for you?

              Next I plan to quit having sugar in my tea/coffee, and chocolate (OK, that's a lie), then I may as well just give up. HAHA!

                Good morning Abbers!

                You are all welcome to stop over to play with the chickens, sit in my kitchen & have coffee, etc. While you're here Greenie you can run right over to my BIL's house & give him a good haircut :H

                I think I'm going to talk to my daughter & see what her thoughts are about this shower. It's not a surprise, she knows about it. Her due date is Feb 15 - I can't put the shower off too long! Hmmm, I figure something out

                Greenie, thunder snow is awesome! Kind of freaky but awesome. Did you get a lot of ice?

                Well, I have a bunch of things to do now, I'll be back later

                  Hello friends,

                  Just a quick check in to say hello. Good job jenny and ew on 3 weeks, keep up the great work. Great news on the move, Peace, I'm glad you checked in I've been thinking about you. Guess we won't be neighbors anymore. AFM congrats on the job! I have always wanted a job I could do from home, and my previous job could have worked that way had my boss been more open to the idea. But, I still have one bookkeeping job that I mostly do here and another person I help to get her entries in before tax time.

                  I took my son and a bunch of his friends roller skating yesterday for his birthday. He just turned 13 and this was our first time hosting a boy/girl party. It was iffy, because it was really snowing, but we made it ok and the roads were clear when we came home. My friend whose husband has cancer and my friend that is recently separated from her husband came too. It was therapeutic for us as well!

                  Terry made it through the surgery ok, and they are giving her meds iv for depression and anxiety, so she sleeps a lot. I have a busy, busy couple of weeks with kid stuff, but hope to get there soon to see her.

                  I was asked last night if I would deliver meals on wheels today, and I can so I will, but I would much rather stay home where it is warm. We are having some arctic temps right now. And I am so tired all the time. Guess I better make myself exercise to get some energy.

                  Well, I better see where my son is, it is time for him to leave for school. Have a great sober week everyone!:h:h:h

                    AF Daily - Monday, January 10th

                    Good morning everyone. The snow some of you guys are getting is making me miss it big time. I can't remember the last time I saw it As a kid I loved building princess castles myself. Such magical memories. English Writer, I had to quit smoking around the time I quit drinking. It's tough but only for a little while. I read Allen Carrs book and chewed the gum while I did that. I'm staying with my mother right now and she's a smoker. I thought it would be hard but it's not. I just wish she would stop. What's fun is not even thinking about smoking and breathing better. I know what you mean though.... ciggs and a wine glass were my identity for a long time and I thought I was having fun. Sometimes I was. Well, I'm skipping yoga today for lunch with my mom in a garden. I hope everyone has a nice day!

                      No ice yet, but it is predicted (as are power outages) as the snow turns to freezing rain. I'm doing stuff that requires electricity now - laundry, dishwasher, etc. I'll knock the snow off the bonsai type shrubs in a bit so they don't break off.

                        Thank you all for the congrats! 30 days is around the bend at this point yeah me! We had some snow in Texas yesterday but it was worse in the East that it was for Dallas and Fort Worth ( I live between the two ) me and my sister started out early this morning to beat the crazies on the roads and I stayed off the freeways and we got here at 7:15 so not bad. There are alot of people out though so the doctors are just going to have to understand if the patients are coming back slow LOL an understanding doctor now that is funny!

                        AL and ice don't mix so one things for sure. . .

                        BTW DG we miss you.

                          Well, the snow has a hard, slick topping on it now. Tomorrow should be interesting. One cedar branch casualty so far. (oh, oh!! chainsaw!!)

                            I don't know if you're old enough to remember the joke:

                            Greenie, I remember a big ice storm several years ago in the Charlotte, NC area that devastated my brother's neighborhood. No power for several days, trees down everywhere, etc. I sure hope you don't get that! The prediction here is for 4-8" of snow starting late tomorrow afternoon. All in all, I guess that's not so bad.

                            Got my hair trimmed today, met friends for lunch & picked up what I need at the supermarket. I think I got the last parking space there ~ everyone was stocking up.

                            OK, I have things lined up to do this evening so I'll get to them.
