first thing I did was make a no-bun grass-fed beef burger with a criminally insane amount of garlic butter on top of it. mooooooooo!

speaking of which.... very cool bison pics Kas! they are such dramatic and picturesque critters.

great job on sugar free Doggygirl!

I've come up with a great idea..... I'm going to reclassify icecream as a fruit. pretty clever eh?

Awww Kas, I do believe you're warming up to the bison!! I think they are fabulous creatures having met a few up close and personal in Custer State Park in the 70's. Never had a bison burger tho. Probably should at least try it.
Nice job talking with your asistant. Seems like she's got a good head on her shoulders ( and maybe few other things according to the camp guys :H ).

Soo........... I heard from job #2a FINALLY!! I do believe what I got was a job offer minus the salary . She says they haven't nailed it down yet but she has a meeting with HR tomorrow and will call me afterwards. Possibly a title change and most likely not the salary I want. I'll have to see if I can work with it. Certainly advancement opps are much more likely there than where I am now (I think). She also told me that she interviewed 2 other candidates, one was internal, and that all the candidates had great strenghs and that she was lucky there wasn't a bad one in the bunch. Now either she just feels wicked comfy confiding in me already or she as trying to tell me that it won't matter to her if I take the job or not, she's got acceptable backup. Jeez. So, I'll let you guys know as soon as I know tomorrow.
I also have some leads on a state sponsored refi program that I will check out tomorrow.

Got my hair chopped tonite. Much shorter than I have worn it in years although I've been wearing it shorter than normal for the past 4 months. This just takes it to a higher level of shortness :H. My hairdresser has a very similar cut (of course she's 15 year younger and about 70 lbs lighter!) AND she put a streak of purple in her bangs!! I love it! Tomorrow I'm hitting Wally World and looking for semipermanent, wait for it...... Pink color!! Yep! Gonna do it! It will be subtle tho, I promise!!

Fell off the sugar wagon... :upset: Back on today though. Why is that one so hard? I guess I am running out of things that seem like "comfort" to stick in my mouth.

Kaz - that buffalo is gorgeous. I so love your tales. Prairie woman of Canada and all points north. Good to hear that your kids and some other young people recognize where the AL path leads, and are exercising caution. AL stole all of my focus and motivation from me in those days. I try not to think to much about it (can't change history) but can't help wondering sometimes where my life would have gone had I never taken the first drink.

Lav, can I go with you to visit Kas and get out of this heat?????? I'm glad you son was able to help you. I hope you find a young'un around town who maybe has more time and can do some of the heavy lifting you need done for a reasonable price. (a hot meal?) My Mom has her barn full of ponies which involves a fair amount of heavy lifting from time to time (feed, barn repairs, etc.). Now that my Dad is so sick and can't help, she has managed to find ways to get it done. You are very resourceful and I have no doubt you will find some help too!

No worminating for me yesterday. It was so hot. I was driving around yesterday afternoon and at one point, the guage in my truck said 102. And I passed a place with one of those lit up signs that give time and temp - that said 104. And humid. Oy. I walked past the garden while taking the garbage can to the street, and gave Horny's friends permission to eat down the whole thing.

Well, off to see if there is a thread yet for today, and maybe start one.
