Yay, here we are starting week 3 already - can't wait to get this month done & dusted :H

Hi TDN, just saw you pop in the other thread. So you think men can be stupid when it comes to Valentine's day? Really?? :H :H
Glad you got through OK & the snow has melted.

Speaking of snow......
We are supposed to get some tomorrow. It's my niece's wedding day & I hear she's freaking out - no shit! You spend a year planning a wedding for the middle of February & now you freak out? That is just one of the reasons I chose to not go but offered to wtach the 3 grandkids so my kids can go
YB has promised he will be here to help ~ he'd better show up or he will have to deal with one angry granny :H

OK, i'm off to Curves, then to the supermarket to gather supplies for the weekend. I hope everyone has a fantastic AF Friday!

Good Evening Friends,

Lav-I worked from home today but I was concentrating on getting some boring but necessary paperwork tasks completed. I slept through my alarm but managed to take my Explorer in to get detailed. Wow, it looks and smells like a new SUV.. I chuckled when you talked about your niece having a February wedding....a winter wedding would never occur to me, but good for you for getting out of it.:goodjob:

Nurdl-great to see you here again.

TDN-I laughed when you talked about the guys coming in to the store at the last minute to get the obligatory roses.

Papmom and Chill must be busy with their new lives.

Wow, am I the first to post? I guess so.

Chill-you MUST be busy as you haven't posted in days. I hope your job is everything you want it to be.

Sooty-I hope you're having better weather. Continuously dreary weather has a negative impact on me.

Rustop-It's the weekend so you will no doubt be on taxi duty for your daughter.

I am off to work out, run errands, and then spend time with my family, all unhung!

Hi, Rusty and Lav--and all to come today.

Quick check in, as I have to help at the flower shop again today. Probably only until 1:00. Then home to try to prepare for a few school visits next week for the "other" job.

Went to the gym late yesterday afternoon for Zumba, and I was the only one to show up:upset: All the treadmills were busy, so I came home. Hoping to get back to a few classes next week.

Fabulous February Friendships ~ Week 3

Happy Saturday Morning! I have a busy one ahead as after my usual but not so relaxed breakfast out (it will be inflated by visitors from Lord Bird's family) and some shopping, we are off to a memorial service honoring Lord Bird Heart's aunt at a home somewhere an hour or so north of here. I believe you may remember her, she was a notoriously cruel and destructive lady and the subject of a little caper on a gorgeous morning last Thanksgiving. Lord Bird Heart, two of his brothers and I formed a small band of guerrilla rats and surreptitiously snuck her ashes into the river not far from a famous scene in Breaking Bad. We hoped she would find her way to a beautiful ranch in the south where she always wanted to go in life but no one would have her as she was so mean. In life she could ruin everything, she seemed to be missing in her brain the hardware for empathy, but hopefully her spirit is peaceful and serene. That's where we shall be and I am sure the booze will be thick but none for me, i just want it over with and be on down the road for home. Love, Ladybird.

Morning friends, a quick fly by from me as I'm off early to go to a bead fair, think i'll leave my purse at home cos I have too many beads already!

We haven't had rain for a couple of days and none forecast for the week ahead, life is so much easier without it I can tell you.. A couple more weeks of dry weather and there'll be a hosepipe ban

Sunny & chilly so far today! No rain or snow forecasted toady here Sooty & that's OK with me!
Enjoy your trip to the bead fair - sounds interesting.

I eneded up just watching the 2 biys yesterday & that was enough!
My daughter & her husband decided to not go to the wedding after all, neither one of them were feeling completely well so they stay home.
My DIL took some nice pics though, my niece, the bride looked great & very happy. Long may that happiness last!

So I spent my Saturday with 2 hyperactive little boys & a grumpy old man
I just keep telling myself things could be worse :H

I really need to get some things cleared up on my desk today - I'm bad about that stuff.

Fabulous February Friendships ~ Week 3

Good morning to all...

I really thought I posted yesterday, buy can't find it. Oh, well, just a busy Saturday, walking, reading, and last night bowling. It was fun and I was even more active, something I am working on. Lots of snow here, lots of cold, so being outside is not for me. We may go to a movie this afternoon to get out of the house. Again, this time of year is tough.

Lav, you are so wonderful and generous as a grandmother and babysitter.

Rusty, hello to you, keeping busy and taking care of business. How's the weather up there, cold and snowy?

LBH, the crotchety old aunt sounds interesting. Why, if she was so horrible, is anyone even going up to honor her memory? Just wondering.

Sooty, is a bead festival a fair with materials to make jewelry and other crafts? If so, fun.

Good Morning, AF Friends,

Sooty , I am glad you got two days of sun in a row but what is a hosepipe ban?

Star- we don't have much snow here but it it is 9 degrees outside and sunny.

Lav- how did the evening with your grand kids go? Did the wedding survive the weather?

My sister and BIL took us out to dinner last night and we had a lovely time. My favorite niece, who is 20, and her sweet boyfriend, joined us. My mom and sister surprised me by buying several pieces of my china pattern. It is a treat for me because my china pattern was discontinued and getting replacement pieces is very pricy. Now I have enough place settings for 8 people, so I will be able to host a dinner party next month or April, as planned.

Today I will work out and just let the day evolve.

Hello All, Rusty that's wonderful about the china. What is the name of your pattern so I can google it? I don't have china, went the stoneware route.

Star, I agree this time of year is tough. It's really cold outside and the wind cuts like a knife. It's hard to keep active. Bowling sounds like a great activity!

Lav, did you get anywhere on clearing your desk? We haven't started on our taxes yet, have you? Ugghhh! I'm for a tax system overhaul. This system is a nightmare! I call for the flat tax. I just wish they would change it NOW!!!

LBH, I hope LordBH's Aunt is at peace too. I suspect she is more so than she ever managed in this realm. BTW, I'm reading a very interesting book called Proof of Heaven by Eben Alexander. You might like it. He's a neurosurgeon who had a near death experience. He went into it a non-believer. He spent 7 days in a coma during which time he had no higher level brain activity and he should have died. His brain was being attacked by an aggressive bacterial infection. The book is interesting on many levels. I like the medical stuff and the man's life story is compelling too. He had problems with alcohol. A lot of the things he talks about remind me of the book A New Earth, by Tolle.

TDN, too bad about the zumba class. Did the instructor show up? I've not done zumba but lots of my friends really like it. I'm sure I would if I would take the time.

Star, I am about to purchase some 3D embroidery designs to make flowers & one of them is a Stargazerlily....I hope they work out, could be useful for so many things

Very cold & very windy here today, snow flurries off & on all day. Could be worse, I'm sure....

Rusty, last evening was a busy one AND the boys & their mother were back again today looking for dinner :H
The wedding went well so I am told.

Never did get to my desk top today Dill, my business taxes & personal taxes are still not ready to send to the accountant. I really dislike the whole thing too.
I have heard a lot about that book, will put it on my list. I did hear the author interviewed on NPR.

Zumba classes are held at the Curves but I've never attended one either. They schedule them at times that don't work with my schedule - maybe one of these days

Fabulous February Friendships ~ Week 3

Good morning, ahhhh Monday...

Had a pretty good weekend, yesterday went and walked around Walmart, then saw a lousy movie, Beautiful Creatures. I was bored halfway through, but stayed till the bitter end. However, Downton Abby last night was really good. Got out of the house and kept active, winter makes it harder to do so. I do love the cozy nights around the fire through.

Dill, I put the book on hold, 20 people are ahead of me. I did not want to buy it, and cannot find my kindle. I too heard the interview on NPR and and found it really interesting. Can't wait to read it. Thanks for sharing.

Rusty, oooh, it is really cold up there, here too. How lovely to have dinner with family. Nice Birthday week for you.

Lav, stargazers are such beautiful flowers, have fun creating them. If you could only put the scent in the design.

TDN, glad the holiday for flowers is over for you. It is amazing that men, or anyone for that matter, waits till the last minute and expects what others planned for in advance. Still, to handle flowers would be lovely, they have such a great energy: sight, feel, scent!!

You can tell I want spring badly with my reference to flowers. I am visiting my Dad this weekend in Florida for a really short visit, so will get some sun and greenery. I know it will help my blue mood to get some warmth and sunshine, greenery and being outside.

Will do my best this week to spread sunshine, healing and love, so to all, have a great Monday.
