Hi there folks. Since I cant change the title of a thread, I started a new one. Its evening here and i am having a chick pea curry.
Mick needs a bit of a break and I sympathise with the thread starting business. It can be hard to know what to say and if you are not at your perky best, then its a tough one. I had a flat day today but I cant blame it on the weather as its lovely and warm here today. But it sure looks very cold in the northern hemisphere.

Good advice that PQ was giving Pauly. Thats a tough one. Just try to make sure your daughter protects herself. Is he taking meds?
It would be lovely if you and Det met up but I know how busy it can be and Vegas is a big place! You take care Det - not just in Vegas but also on the drive.

Glad that you are seeing the grandkids Lav. Families - a source of endless entertainment and emotion, doesn't matter what size they are or where we live. :egad:

Good morning, happy to stop in. I was counting my days and now at 143 today and feeling very grateful, so grateful in fact. With all the current challenges in my life I would be a hot mess if not AF. Just wanted to mention this, at work a young person (30s) was mentioning that they were hungover on Sunday, and said, I don't like feeling like that. They were thinking of not drinking except on special occasions, and then only one or two glass, like they used too. I encouraged that and told her the hangovers get worse as you get older. This person does not have an alcohol problem, and it was so easy for her to discuss, be objective and just make a decision. I liked that. Just wanted to share. Have a good one all.

Dentist right after work today, 3 fillings then we're done for now,I figured out my teeth are so tightly jammed together after I bought some flossing brushes and can't even squish it in there,probably why my cavities are between my teeth,watched Obamas farewell speech last night and hubs thought I was a weirdo cuz it made me weepy but hey I liked him and we've"known" him for 8 years of our lives,of course its a little emotional, much love to all and wishing everyone a happy AF Wednesday and beyond

Chick pea curry sounds good. I've been eating a lot of 'No Tuna Salad' lately, made with mashed chick peas & a tahini dressing (no mayo). Yum!

Star, I get worried when I hear about younger folks drinking heavily. I didn't start my heavy drinking until my mid-forties. It was never about the alcohol for me but all about depression/emotional pain relief. I'm happy to see my kids are very light drinkers.

Pauly, I was a bit weepy watching the president's speech too. We have no chance in hell of hearing another one like that for a long time to come.
I hope your dental work went well.

Sadly I began drinking heavily at a young age and I'm sure it badly affected my brain development. Oh well, can't lament... I can

busy packing, washing uniforms and inspecting my emergency medical and survival gear. Vegas is 8 hours through the desert with very little phone service, so if something happens there's little chance of speedy help.

dropped DX off at airport today. We've been getting along better lately so it's hard to see her go but I'm glad she'll be seeing her folks whom she loves very much.

Mae everybody,three fillings yesterday and when he stuck that needle in the bottom jawline I just about jumped out of the chair! In two weeks I go back for a wisdom tooth pull on the other side,I have a feeling its not gonna be fun at all,the last one hurt like a muthaf':#$er! And that was up top,they say the bottom ones are worse Det,yep normal day hours,I thought DX's parents lived here?maybe I read that wrong awhile ago, kinda having Mick withdrawal but I know you need some time,someone needs to post a joke,I got nothing much love to all and I hope everyone has a great AF Thursday

Today I celebrate 18 months of being dry. It hasn't been easy at times and I've got to say a big thanks to my umbrella for helping me through the hard times.

Nothing terribly exciting in Lav-land today but we did have some very balmy weather today. It was 60 something & mostly sunny, nice. Now we have to prepare for snow on Saturday, crazy.
I am trying real hard not to let this insane political environment get to me. I am also trying not to let my imagination (fear of the future for the US) get out of control. There is a dangerous madman about to move into the white house. I hope we all are going to be OK.

Checking in on this frosty Friday, with all that is going on in my life I am so thankful to be AF with no plans to drink, getting stronger every day.
