Hope you didn't spend too much at the shops. You're right, I don't mind showing someone how to do something but when she can't even change the font on her word document, I give up.

Pauly...sitting around rolling joints, maybe in a different life. LOL I remember when I found this site, almost 5 years ago, and all I did was google "stop drinking" and it was the first to pop up. Haven't tried googling it since. I didn't know where to start so posted on Tell Us Your Story. Soon after a Newbie Nester picked me up and pointed me in the right direction. Then I found Mick on the daily thread and never looked back.

Det...that would be a definite weeding. Although we have a lot of weddings at the community centre. LOL You be careful today. Remember HALT, Hungry Angry Lonely Tired. I'll have to look back but did you tell us how the group meeting went?

The boys went out to Duchess to help their Dad move some of the horses. I haven't been alone in the house forever. Think I'll have breakfast for dinner. LOL

Breakfast for dinner is always a great thing PQ,I dunno why but for some reason breakfasty things taste better in the evening haha I think I googled online help to stop drinking and yes mwo popped up and I joined,had LB help me start a thread cuz I had never been on a forum before,had to restrain myself at the 99cent store cuz I had spent too much at Walmart for hubs' fathers day stuff,one thing I bought him is a straw hat from the MEN'S section cuz...I'm so embarrassed to admit this but last year he bought a straw hat made for women! I never really paid attention but the neighbor started teasing him that the only thing missing was a bow on it,ugh,what I hafta deal with haha,hope everyone has a peaceful night (AF of course)

Checking in. Pauly I think MWO is a great tool and resource. It isn't for everyone though. Gosh, when I started this journey sooo freaking long ago there really wasn't much out there. Now there are all kinds of forums and places for people to go to get help on-line. So I like to think more people are finding help, even if it isn't here. Plus, this is a freaking hard beast to beat. I know I came and went several times. I also do like that I spent time at so many different places. I've kept in touch with people from all the different groups, turn on Hip Sobriety when that suits me---follow Tommy Rosen when I need him. I pull from all of them. Oddly the only one I really distanced myself from is AA. But I do believe in their mantra of attraction vs. promotion. I trust that the people that need us, will find us at the right time.

TT--"I can't drink". I think those days are dust in the wind of me thinking...'oh, this time will be different". Sometimes all I was really looking for was escape from reality---and I can find a decent show on Netflix to do that. For some reason too, I went from being able to function with a hangover to not. I can't handle the anxiety it produces---and I know for certain to drink is to bring on the killer anxiety. Kinda wish that had kicked in earlier. Not certain why you still have to go into work. Companies do things so funky these days, with no regard to your mental health. My last corporate gig kind of did that and it just freaking dragged out forever. My nerves were shot by the end of it. Would have been so much better to just cut ties and walked away, but it wasn't really an option. I do think you will feel a bit relieved once that is behind you and you can fully focus on your next gig.

Mick--my BS is not work related. I don't think it is even possible to have work BS the way my life is structured. The front end of my career was good--the back end was an epic waste of life and time. Hindsight....man wish I had that gift to have the foresight to see the hindsight

Happy Saturday friends,where's Mick?? He's usually here before I even wake up,SF,I think you're right about there being a lot of places to get help,unfortunately not a lot of in face places besides AA here,I looked up Smart meetings and they only have them once a week in a shitty part of town,dont think it would be much help for me,yes I wish the being unable to cope with a hangover would have kicked in sooner for me too,hell I remember drinking til 2 am then going to work at 8:30 with no hair of the dog! Still unbelievable to me,now I need an oxygen mask,Iv drip,and a hospital bed,so yeah its over,Lav,hubs' hat is one of those droopy ones ladies wear to the beach,I'm surprised its not pink haha,much love to all and I hope we all have a decent AF Saturday,,, never mind decent I want spectacular!!

SF...love your post. Yup, we draw on the resources we need at the moment and with the internet the resources are infinite. When AA started it was revolutionary and the only resource available for most. To this day I still feel you take what you need and leave the rest behind.

Pauly...remember when Mick was mysterious about his early outs on Sundays? It was great fun guessing what he was up to. Maybe he's starting a new guessing game. LOL My guess is he's got the sewing machine out and figuring out the curtain challenge. I want spectacular too!!

Det...hope the video is going good. At least it's something you enjoy.

Off to the garden this morning to do some thinning of the lettuce and start to train the cucumbers to grow vertically as my garden patch is very small. Will take some pics and post them later.

Yoo hoo it smee been on the go since about 4.30 this morning it is now1741. ...tidied the greenhouse. Staked the tomatoes. Moved plants about..went up to grave..tidied that up..went to Rochdale. ..and now I'm in the garden dossing in the sun...32 degrees...will jump on computer after.. in the meantime have a great day

Happy hot Sat ABerooos!

oh my, super hot here and so glad to be home and showered after being in the blazing sun all day. Got home last night at quarter to midnight and
had things to do, then up at 5:30 and going like mad. I'ts officially chill-out time! No drinking thoughts in site and doing the self-care I need instead
of bumbling along.

someone asked about therapy... it was very good indeed. i love the very small group combined with a therapist that really knows her
stuff and cares.

wow, just saw myself in the mirror and I'm pretty red. No more sun for a bit. It's in the high 90's and feels like it.

just had a nice fresh salad which is refreshing and I think it's time to zone out to a comedy or sci fi for a bit.
