Pauly, great job on walking past that craving!!! I am pretty sure that blood sugar plays some kind of role in these cravings, so food was a great choice. SO nice to hear about Michelle building her new life- excellent!

Star, good for you for having a plan in place - I'm sure that this change of events for your son is worrisome, but as you say, it has happened before and all worked out eventually. I love this affirmation, which has always turned out to be true for me (eventually) "the answers are always before me, even if I cannot see them". May you have peace!

SK, you hit the nail on the head - good to have a full tank of gas! Ha! Love your dry wit. Any news on the spine front? Have you gone to that new clinic? I am really hoping that your answers will be revealed soon. Peaches and cream, yum!

Lav, glad you had some good rest, even with the heat. Is your work space in the lower level where it is cool? I'm sure you are working on some great projects. Great job on the elections in your state -

Well, off to do a little client work and then pack and go to JFK, oh joy. At least HB and I are traveling together this time, which is good!

I hope to have time to post in the middle of all the meetings.. I will find some wifi zones To hang out in.

Morning friends,Star,you enjoy your visitors this weekend seems when a craving to drink hits its outta the blue and it's just an escape thought to me,I absolutely hate the taste of all alcohol and I always have so yea its just a mind game,Cyn,absolutely blood sugar plays a roll,hubs and i both deal with sugar highs and lows yet neither of us are diabetic and im sure it's diet related,I wish you safe travels Lav,hope the weather has calmed some,any word from the boys lately? SK,hope you have a good day today,woke up to a text from my manager and I guess a guy with a mask and shotgun came into the shop yesterday around 2:30 in the afternoon,they chased him off and according to the news he ended up at the mall down the street,cops surrounded but the guys still on the loose,eeks,will keep an eye on the news and see wtf is going on,have a fun,free Friday!

Still raining & actually a little chilly today so I made soup in the IP
This rain is supposed to end sometime tomorrow - here's hoping!!!

SK, I survived that bizarre behavior of YB's but it really changed things. That's OK! My defense shields are up & solid so I'll never let him knock me off balance. Personally, I think that's what he was trying to do. I was 15 months into my quit, happy & feeling strong when he pulled that move. There was absolutely no reason, no fighting, no arguing or anything. He's the one who admitted to me 15 years ago that he 'doesn't trust happiness'. WTF?? That's when I told him to go see a shrink or leave immediately. He did go monthly for about a year, was on medication & suddenly quit it all. Yep, that's the person who I've been married to 45 years next month! He has always been a major source of stress for me. I always believed he could be better -- maybe not.

Star, I hope this weekend goes well for you & you enjoy the company. Your grandson's picture is adorable
Letting go of the need to control helped me get thru all that with YB. I think it's important for all of us to learn that skill. We only hurt ourselves holding on to the need to control things.
Part time work really is ideal if you can find it available. Being at work 5 days/week was hard & then they wanted you to do things on your day off too, ugh.

Pauly, geez, that's scary about the guy in your shop. Was he trying to rob the place when he was scared off? I hope they catch him soon!!!

Cyn, yes, my work space is downstairs & I love the natural coolness. Actually, I did more cleaning than work down there today but it looks better now.
I think the good folks in PA heard the message & got out to vote. I just hope we keep the momentum going for November.

Very sad about the Texas high school shooting today. What's it going to take to stop this??
I hate guns, always have.

I think these school shootings & others will continue until we flip the entire Congress blue!!! No republican will vote for gun control because they are all on the NRA's payroll

Good morning...

No one up yet but me, it is 5 am. We have had the most lovely time, I have the best brother and love his wife and family. The weather allowed us to go to garage sales, park, birthday party, hot tub, and lots of food and eating. Lots of laughter too and no alcohol at all. Always the best kind of time AF.

Pauly, the shooting makes me sick to my stomach, my son commented that if he were in high school he would be afraid he would be shot. What a horrible state of affairs. Crazy that a gun man was in your shop too, yikes. It is so clear we have to get gun control laws in place, our society is crazier and more violent with any person running around with a gun. Cravings hit me out of the blue to, remember, our first thought is not a good thought, go to that second thought. I have to all the time. Looks like my son may already have landed a job, we'll see on Monday, and he has another interview. Keep those fingers crossed.

Cyn, safe travels, enjoy your time away. We do have all the answers within us, if we slow down and take the time to reflect with our higher self.

Lav, thinking about what your husband said so many years ago, regarding not trusting happiness, I do trust happiness. Every little bit of it I can enjoy, knowing that like any other feeling it will not last. The weather here rained off and on, but at the end of the afternoon, the sun came out and we were able to have the birthday party outside. The little guy did well, he did not really know what was going on, just lots of hugs and kisses from lots of people. I ate lots of sweets, today will be a day of not doing that, getting it out of the house. My guests said they are leaving early this morning, so will have the day to clean up and then rest up for the week. It feels like summer already.

Crossing my fingers for your son Lav,seen the fog pics,kinda cool looking,Cyn,hope your travels are going well,SK hope all is well with you,dunno about these shootings and its really sad when its a situation of not "if" but "when/where" the next will be,I remember clearly back in the 80's when I was school age hearing on the news about metal detectors in the city schools,why not being that back? Gun control is necessary but there's already soooooo many guns out there so easy to get if someone wants one they can easily get it,think its time to tighten up security in places,wishes for a sensational,sober Sunday!

Hi friends -

Just a quick note to say hello- I am not good at typing on my phone!

Made it out west, arriving around 2AM (in our body time), but went right into a hotel.. had a big day yesterday, and ended in the evening with a party at which we entertained. Glad that's done. Just working today, and more meetings tomorrow, then get on a plane home.

Thanks for all the news - Pauly, how scary to hear about that shooter, so glad you are Ok. Lav, your story always makes me sad, and I remembered it from the thread at the time... you are a beacon for us all with the boundaries that you have set up. Thank you! Star, sounds like a wonderful life and family time -- good for you hot making that happen. SK, I am concerned about you - I hope you are doing OK -- sending light.

Glad to finally report that the rain has stopped & the sun even came out this afternoon. What a week of weather we had.

Star, so happy to hear your weekend went well. Everyone happy & pleasant & well fed - what more could you ask?
Good news possibly for your son too, nice. I will keep my fingers crossed as well.

Pauly, Hearing the words of the Houston Police Chief made me feel a small glimmer of hope. While we will never rid the country of guns or angry, disillusioned people we can still make strides forward to better gun control.
The weather folks yesterday said that we had 1/2 mile visibility in the fog. I think it was a lot less than that in most spots, seriously. There's no concrete around here like in the city so when we get fog, WE GET FOG, ha ha!!

Cyn, your schedule would absolutely kill me - bless you woman
I hope the rest of the meetings go well & you have a safe trip home!

Star, I liked your thoughts on acceptance.

I watched the wedding and as Megan was walking up the aisle you could see the love in Harry's eyes. I thought t was wonderful and she never put a foot wong.

Yes, another sad day for a high school shooting. Oliver North, the new head of NRA and who is a felon has suggested the shootings are because of Ritalin, nuts to that. We have kids who are both traumatized or believe they will be. Too much anxiety for our young people, being a teen and battling peer pressure is enough without thinking about being shot. Congress reminds me of the lion in Wizard of Oz, looking for some courage. What weak members they are without any moral compass. Grrr. I wish we could organize something to protest these shootings and rail on Trump and the NRA.

Had a quiet weekend and my sister and I were chatting about the wedding. An American in the Royal Family, sounds about right, lol.

YB built an actual boardwalk from the side of his garage across the lumpy, rocky dirt to the door of the greenhouse. It not only looks nice but now you can get across that area without feeling like you're going to fall on your a$$. It really doesn't take much to make me happy, LOL
