morning all...how are we today then?good I hope..just checking your election results,wow there is a massive turnout for the voting as compared to 4 yrs ago..there is determination from the people to clearly make as difference ..unlike over here !massive issues like Brexit ..you heard of that ? if you havent you must be living in a snow tunnel in the Amazon jungle!..but the attitude over here was..what does it matter ,then when the result wasnt what people wanted then the toys were thrown out of the pram..Mind you it isnt as simple as that..a good few lies and misconceptions have been made along the way ...yes I know its hard to believe politicians and lying belong in the same stable but ..

hiya treegirl..how are you then ? nice to see you ..Yep Bonnie is ok ...went in to clean their hutch out yesterday..moved the litter tray out of the corner and cleaned it ,put it back ..she came straight in picked it up in her mouth and launched it..just to emphasise the point ,she then started tugging at the bottom of my trousers!#Strangely enough ,I dont have a fear of nicks ,I certainly have a wariness and always did have,and that has kept me mostly injury free throughout my time..I can cause myself enough injury without anyones assistance! but prisoners sense a weakness or fear and soon pick up on that..its turning that apprehension into a positive ,something I never struggled with though I have seen a good few do so ,nowadays its rabbits trying to escape that causes me the drama!!!hope your day is rain free.

It was great to see the turnout for the voting - I hope we can do it again in 2 years. Good work Lav, some important gains in PA! We have the first African-American representative ever from New England, and she's terrific. Other good elections close to home here; though some heartbreaks - GA, FL, and TX. Such close races!

Lav, how are you -itching? Mick, my but Bonnie has some attitude! How funny. PPQ, sorry about the snow - good to hear that work days are going by fast. How was your checkup? SK, how was The NY Times reporting on the election? Det, hope all is well, still getting those job offers?

tired tonight after clients and more work in the basement - I'm starting to see the end of the project, I hope. I'll be awol again for a couple of days - crazy long day tomorrow, and I end up again in NYC, then a doc appt on Friday and headed home. I'll check in then.

Looks like we did fairly well yesterday. I was hoping for more of a blue tsunami than a blue wave but all in all things looks good. I am happy to see so many strong women picking up congressional seats & women of color for too. This country is diverse, we need diversity in our representatives - just makes sense!

Mick, I forgot about Eastern State Penitentiary, ha ha. It's a Philly attraction that puts on a big fright show every Halloween. The place is gross, just like Alcatraz.

SK, I woke up a few times last night wondering about the final election results. Grateful it turned out fairly well & not nearly as bad as the last when we got dumped with Trump.

Kind of surprised but it's still early, ha ha! They applied 3 strips on my back, each strip has 12 spots filled with various chemicals. So that's 36 different opportunities for me to have an allergic reaction - awesome!!! (NOT). We shall see what develops.

Mick...glad the cooker was fixed and 2 hours early. Yup, the snow stopped, it's cold but sunny so that helps. Bonnie is such a character, we're going to enjoy hearing about her antics.

Tgirl...aced the checkup, thanks for asking. I can handle the snow as long it's not an overnight armageddon! We get lots of sun in Calgary and hopefully this winter will see the return of regular Chinooks. Glad to hear you're seeing the end of the basement project. You be safe with your travels.

Lav...thought of you when I saw the results this morning. I've learned a lot about american politics! So different than ours. It'll be interesting to see what happens in 2 years. PPQ, I smiled at your posting about different headlines. I was reading CBC where the biggest headline was gov't employees got 2 days off due to the "possible sighting" of a brown recluse spider. I've been bitten twice by them and it wasn't pleasant:happy2:
But since the last sighting was 50 yrs ago probably in someone's luggage, there has't been one, they like the heat. I wondered if these false alarms were a day off work scam or real!

Then the next day opened the news here and there was another mass shooting in Calif where 13 people shot and also 13 families ruined.

in TX we also have the black widow and scorpions, I've had 2 and they are darned hard to kill. 4 kinds of poisonous snakes. a nonpoisonous one got into our house, because the weather sal ws damaged and it was very, very hot.

Good evening Abbers,

Decent day here, sunny & cool. Went out & bought food, came home & cooked it, haha! We picked up a 10 lb bag of sweet potatoes at Costco yesterday so there will be many sweet potato dishes this month. Today I made baked sweet potato fries to go with pan seared chicken cutlets in a mushroom sauce, nice.

Det, I am sorry to hear your news. I hope you have stopped drinking & are hydrating yourself now.
Whatever we choose to do we absolutely have to remember that alcohol is never the answer, never. We want you healthy & happy, you deserve better :hug:

Glad your weather is holding up, yay!

Got some bad news a couple of hours ago - my younger grandson is in the hospital with his arm fractured in two places. Apparently he was zooming around on his razor scooter this afternoon & had a bad spill. The doctors are consulting now, he may end up with a surgical repair. Poor kid, only 7 years old.
I'm glad this didn't happen on my watch for a number of reasons but at least his Dad is a medic as well as a firefighter so he knew how to handle things. The children's hospital is not close, it's in Delaware. I would not have liked driving an injured child that far on my own.
I'm heading back to the allergist tomorrow afternoon to have my skin patches removed & get the readings - interested to see the results.

Det...if things don't settle down reach out for help. Can you call the rehab centre you were at? I was able to call mine if I needed to. Like Lav said, stay hydrated and just take it easy, you've been through this before and if things don't feel right it's 911. Alcohol withdraw can be dangerous. We have a service here 811 where you can talk to a nurse and have her access you. I know there are lots of AA groups in Vegas and some will send someone to help if things are really bad. You check in with us even if it's a quick I'm still here and ok. :hug:

Mick...I don't remember the last time I went for an eye exam. I see my ophthalmologist so often I don't need to. LOL If glasses aren't the answer maybe your acupuncturist can help. I bet Bonnie will rub off on Jeeves in a really good way.

Lav...I didn't realize you could use the Instant Pot as a slow cooker! That changes everything. I've been wanting to get a new crock pot for awhile now but maybe that is the answer. I'll let you know if I take the leap. Ouch, sorry to hear about your grandson but it sounds like he was in good hands. I'm glad you didn't have to make the trek to Delaware. It was sunny but very cold today, we're still under an arctic air mass but it's supposed to move off over the weekend. Looking forward to plus temps next week.

morning all...how are we this poets day?good I hope .well went to the eye doc yesterday ,I already wear reading glasses ,and sometimes ? distance ..its the bit in between that screws me up ..they call it intermediate..the upshot is ...they have tried to increase the closeness of my distance glasses ..otherwise varifocals,which didnt work for me last time ..Tickets got sent this morning for Gran Canaria ,so thats a look forward to ..the rabbits are playing ..she is mad but fantastic fun and company

Mick, I am envious of your holidays. I'm glad Bonnie and Jeeves are getting closer. If one of the cats goes alone for a bit the other will go looking for th other one. I bought scented litter for them last week and they rebelled by using my walk-in closet.
Lots of stuff like shoes, spare pillows bedding, etc. ruined or damaged. The use of baking soda, vinegar and water is the best treatment, but what about the carpet? I have a little bissell green machine. It only does a small area, so will get a dark light to see precisely where the stains are.

Lav, my heart sunk when I heard about your grandson, what a shame. I would get him an anti itching thingy ASAP. One of the nurses got me a chopstick and I taped an emery board to it and it worked well. None of the nurses could offer an alternative and I wonder if med supplies have anything. Glad he was in good hand with your son.

I managed to cut 4 of Misty's nails today but as soon as she sees the piece of nail fly off, she runs tto chase it.
