    Re: Sun Oct 6th

hiya all how are we today then? all good I hope..yep pouring with rain ...and yep finished the powerwashing too..I know but ..hey it had to be done ...hopefully the weather is ok to go out tomorrow .Well your hash 45 has lost a lot of support over here over the extradition of Anna Sacoolas who claimed diplomatic immunity after the death of child by driving in uk .Trump fkd it up last night by giving a kind of yes we appreciate it was an accident sorry and all that ...at the same time in his hand was a piece of paper with words to the effect of ..if they ask for extradition ..no way are they getting it.Yes it was if true an accident that may or may not have happened...but the point was his arrogant asshole attitude which was clearly his intention from the start.Interesting to see what happens .
hiya tree how are you today then?Im not sure about the rabbits being immune to leccy..it kind of looks like it!!hope it goes ok for you on Sunday

hiya ppqp ...you ok?apart from Lasagne flinging.oh yes those 2 when they decide they arent going in thats exactly what happens..they dont!!so your snow has gone now?The sun will be out next!

hiya Lav hows you today then? all good?

big shout to everyone else .

This year my works are having a Brexit themed Christmas party. We're having it in April, maybe August......

I asked the local farmer, 'Are your animals kindly reared?'

He replied, 'Sure, I always use plenty of lube.'

No matter how good an albino's camera is they'll still have red eye!

    Failed my work's Drug test.

Boris Johnson quietly visits Merseyside for Brexit talks but dodges Liverpool.
On the bright side he must be one of the first to escape with 4 wheels on his car intact.

In George Washington's days, there were no cameras. One's image was either sculpted or painted. Some paintings of George Washington showed him standing behind a desk with one arm behind his back while others showed both legs and both arms. Prices charged by painters were not based on how many people were to be painted, but by how many limbs were to be painted. Arms and legs are 'limbs,' therefore painting them would cost the buyer more. Hence the expression, 'Okay, but it'll cost you an arm and a leg.' (Artists know hands and arms are more difficult to paint.)

In the late 1700's, many houses consisted of a large room with only one chair. Commonly, a long wide board folded down from the wall, and was used for dining. The 'head of the household' always sat in the chair while everyone else ate sitting on the floor. Occasionally a guest, who was usually a man, would be invited to sit in this chair during a meal. To sit in the chair meant you were important and in charge. They called the one sitting in the chair the 'chair man.' Today in business, we use the expression or title 'Chairman' or 'Chairman of the Board.'

Personal hygiene left much room for improvement. As a result, many women and men had developed acne scars by adulthood. The women would spread bee's wax over their facial skin to smooth out their complexions. When they were speaking to each other, if a woman began to stare at another woman's face she was told, 'mind your own bee's wax.' Should the woman smile, the wax would crack, hence the term 'crack a smile'. In addition, when they sat too close to the fire, the wax would melt. Therefore, the expression 'losing face.'

Ladies wore corsets, which would lace up in the front. A proper and dignified woman, as in 'straight laced' wore a tightly tied lace.

Early politicians required feedback from the public to determine what the people considered important. Since there were no telephones, TV's or radios, the politicians sent their assistants to local taverns, pubs, and bars. They were told to 'go sip some Ale and listen to people's conversations and political concerns. Many assistants were dispatched at different times. 'You go sip here' and 'You go sip there.' The two words 'go sip' were eventually combined when referring to the local opinion and, thus we have the term 'gossip.'

At local taverns, pubs, and bars, people drank from pint and quart-sized containers. A bar maid's job was to keep an eye on the customers and keep the drinks coming. She had to pay close attention and remember who was drinking in 'pints' and who was drinking in 'quarts,' hence the phrase 'minding your 'P's and Q's'.

A man was driving down a motorway in England with his blonde girlfriend and she piped up,"I think those people in the car next to us are from Wales".
"Why do you think that" he said?
"Well, the kids are writing on the window and it says:
    "stit ruoy su wohS".

    Adam Got Caught Speeding Yesterday...
the policeman asked him to step out of the car and walk in a straight line. Half way down he stopped Adam and said, "I'm sorry sir, but you'll have to come back to the station with me as you're staggering".
Adam replied, "Oohh, you little tiger, you're not so bad looking yourself".

Someone knocked at my door this afternoon.
When I opened it, I saw a guy from Domino's holding a cheese and tomato pizza.
"I haven't ordered any pizzas," I said. "This must be a mistake."
"I know," he replied. "Your neighbour forgot his Facebook password and wanted to show you what he was eating for lunch."

      MAE ALL...

TG...here's to the day you quit schlepping your things around. LOL You are one busy lady. Will things slow down for you over Christmas or is it just never ending?

Mick...I'm starting think you get more rain than Vancouver BC. Glad you got the power washing done now I can quit worrying you're going to electrocute yourself. Yup the politics never end. I hate people who feel entitled, we've got a lot of them at the community centre. Sun was out today and most of the snow is gone. Just need the temp to warm up. I continue to feel stronger but don't want to over do it, don't want to actually spend a full day at work. LOL

Shout out to the rest of the gang....:smile:PPQP

        Greetings Abbers,

We really enjoyed the concert last night. The place was sold out & everyone seemed to be having a good time. Didn’t get back home until midnight, yikes. Haven’t been out that late for a while, haha!
We’ve had a mix of sun & clouds all day, at least it’s not hot.

Mick, if you really, really miss power washing things I’ll save all the dirt here for you, haha! Good job getting that done!

PQ, glad to hear you are not pushing yourself too hard. That’s not an easy thing for some of us.
Hey, frozen meals were created for times like this, good idea! just saw a ton more geese heading your way.

Det, sounds like your trip was successful. How did the 13 yr old do? Haha!

Cyn, 10 hr days are not much easier than 12 hr shifts I used to work, exhausting. Take it easy & trust that things will get done. That’s all I can do any more.
I tossed a 6 lb turkey breast in the IP with some onion, celery & a whole lot of seasoning & it was done perfectly in 30 minutes. Leftovers it will be the next few days.

Pauly, hope you are feeling OK, Romeo too!

        Have a nice night everyone.

          Mae all!

Mick, the jokes are just too good, thanks for the laughs. Glad that your power washing is done and dusted... now you can have some fun!

PQ, glad to hear that you are mending, and that the snow is gone. Good luck with the sun! My poor friends in MN, looking forward to cold and snow... I think they are going to lose heart already!!

Pauly, how is your cold? Going away I hope.

Lav, glad the show was good. Yep, I think making nurses work 12 hour shifts is nuts... how can they care for people under those circumstances? Hey, love that lo mein recipe - do you think that it could be made in the IP? I do have a large soup pot, but not sure if it would work so well...

Hello to Det and Sam and all else stopping by...

          May we be well!

And good afternoon all how are we today then ? hope all is well..... don't forget it is Friday the start of the weekend I don't know whether you have heard on the news yet or not, but there has been a terror attack in the centre of Manchester today .Some guy with a knife stabbed at least 5 people we are told in the Arndale Shopping Centre. It has all been locked down and the guy has been taken into custody unfortunately. Lead is a lot cheaper! all that really has done around this area now is bring up the cultural distrust factor again. Manchester is now on high alert. apart from that it has been raining all day , the little stream at the back of the house is now like a full-blown river ...there are cruise ships going up and down it.The rabbits stayed in the garage last night until 9:30 p.m. and certainly didn't want to go out into the outside hutch even though it is covered.
hiya Pauly, how are you today? hope you're feeling better.. as for brexit and you not understanding it... no we dont either ..the politicians and nobody else does either it is a process that has bimbled all through and everyone just added a little bit at a time and they have not got a clue what it's about hope! you have a good weekend

You hope my power washing is done and dusted I don't know what kind of power washer you've got but mine certainly doesn't dust! yes had some fun this morning put a new LED light in the kitchen ceiling.. it no longer looks like the Vault in gringotts Bank! take care have a good weekend and hope you manage to get out for a bimble across the palisades

hiya ppqp how are you? hope all is well .I think we have more rain than the whole of Canada put together to be honest with you. As for the people that feel they are entitled to things we have at least one generation full of that already ...it's our right, the world owes us and work is a swear word. anyway hope you have a good weekend whatever you're doing take it easy
hiya lav how are you? glad you enjoyed the concert. midnight jeez Cinderella pumpkin and coach spring to mind here !I'm looking at going to see a tribute band they are called Pink floydian and yes there a tribute to guess who... I've seen them on YouTube and they aren't over our way to next March but as soon as tickets come out the seem to be going like hotcakes I need to get my skates on and get a couple no I don't miss power washing that much honestly trust me ..and a 6-lb turkey? Here we go turkey sandwiches Turkey curry Turkey salad Turkey soup Turkey roast sliced Turkey mash Turkey and any other combination

right folks need tidy up and get this in the post... take care look after yourselves have a great weekend bye bye

                Good evening Abbers,

I have my grandsons here for the evening, all is well so far, haha!! That can change in an instant with those two.

Cyn, I think the IP would do great for that recipe. The chicken is cut up into small bite size pieces & will certainly be done by the time the noodles are cooked. I’ll try that out next time. Love the flavors in that dish

Pauly, I’m sorry about your poor guinea pig . I lost a chicken this week & didn’t even mention it because she had been looking unwell for a while. The vets around here don’t want you bringing an ailing chicken in to be seen.
As far as going into work sick - I always did too because getting a replacement was damn near impossible. I hope you get some rest this weekend.

Mick, I just saw on the news that a guy was arrested in Manchester on terroristic charges. Damn, this stuff never ends.
                Hope you are well.

                Det - HI

Have a nice night one & all!

                  MAE ALL...

TG...no mention of running around all day? I know, you probably have already started on your list.

Pauly...you take care of yourself. I hear you about your co-worker and having to take up her slack. It just sucks. Bet she wasn't as sick as you.

Mick...yup it's Friday, I made it through the week. It's our Thanksgiving Day long weekend so looking forward to doing nothing. LOL Hadn't heard about the Manchester stabbing but I've only just got home and turned the news on. I don't blame the peskies not wanting to into the outside hutch, maybe they're waiting for you to get the heaters in there.

Lav...hope the evening continues to go well for you. Gotta say the nurses on the trauma unit were working 8hr shifts. Don't know if they had more work to do after they were off the floor or not.

Left over spaghetti for supper tonight so not a lot of fuss. Have a great night all....:smile:PPQP

It’s pitch dark out & not even 7 pm yet. I’ll have to take a flashlight out to close up the chicken house.
Decent weather today, coolish, still no rain though.

Pauly, I think they roast a moose for Thanksgiving in Canada, haha, just kidding

PQ, we used to work 8 hr shifts but they were transitioning to 12 hr right before I left. 12 hrs is not so bad, better than doing a double 8 hr = 16 hrs. That used to really kick my ass.

Mick, that really looks like a lovely place to walk!
I would have to assume all mass murderers are somewhat crazy - don’t you think? They can be evaluated butthen they should be dumped in prison IMHO.

                              Hello to Cyn & Det!

Have a nice night everyone. I need to go find a flashlight!

Exactly the same as your American Thanksgiving Pauly.
