OK, I’ll start the new thread

Hello everyone, hope you all had a good day!
We were called by the son & daughter-in-law of our former neighbor & asked to please take some things from her house since she won’t be returning home. She is settled into her assisted living facility now & is doing OK. I came home with all of her sewing stuff - including 2 machines. I’ll be sharing them with my daughter & granddaughter for sure
Warm day again, odd this time of year but it was nice. We even cleaned out the chicken coop & gave them fresh bedding for being such nice girls Lol

and good morning all..was out detecting yesterday,it was pouring down with rain and didnt find much at all ..in fact all I found was a worn halfpenny and a 200 yr old French infantrymans button..not a lot to show for it.Again more discussions over here about Harry and Meghan...nowthe speculation is where are they going to live in Canada...a great PR number for Canada...not bad when the world is upside down thats the best we can come up with.
hiya Lav ,that was nice of your neighbours inlaws ..sad to here she is not coming home,but at least she is safe and secure.My rabbits are getting the big cleanout this morning ..We have a storm on the way later today...Storm Brendan due to land about 4pm with rain and 70mph winds.

Hey folks,

Monday it is, not that it makes much difference for the retirees, haha. We spent the first half of the day installing a new faucet in the kitchen. This is the 3rd one in a house that it not yet 17 years old. Nothing lasts anymore
Little cooler today but not bad. I think the weekend will be changing that for us.

Mick, how’s your man cold after being out in the rain all day??? Hope you don’t end up in ICU!
I think you’re getting rain & we will be getting the snow form next weekend.
Yep, my old neighbor is 80+ with dementia, is almost blind & has difficulty walking so there’s no chance of her living on her own again. It just wasn’t a safe situation for her, especially after her husband died. She’s getting assistance with things, meals served in a dining room, someone to help; with meds, etc. The son & DIL are in the process of doing some major renovations to update things before they move in. It will be a good spot for them as they retire themselves in a few years.

Pauly, I’ve going thru some of the old fabrics, lace trims & stuff that we brought home. I’m going to test out these machines, if they work I’ll give them to my daughter & granddaughter or someone who could use them. Hope your day was OK.

PQ, keeping my fingers crossed that you are not frozen, geez!
I am not going to tell my friend that I took her stuff until her son tells her that he bought her house & will be moving into it soon!!! He didn’t want to confuse or upset her, I agree. All this takes me back to the mid-80’s when my parents moved in with us - it’s not easy.

Mae everybody, PQ it's dark outside, need I say more also I seen that the clocks change back again in the first week of March! My daughter’s birthday is Sunday so I am working on a sewing project for her that I actually meant to give her for Christmas but never got it done.

Mick, I was just listening to the news about the flu strains going around this year. Apparently the flu shot is only about 28% effective here so that may leave a lot of us screwed. Glad your cold is clearing, finally! hen you say ‘back home’ I take it you mean Scotland? RIP your friend.

hiya all///how are we then today?all good I hope ..Busy morning but seems like not done a lot ...boarded out part of the eaves in the roof space ...the small angled bit ....my trains are in the rest ,,changed brake lights and wipers on car ..scotchguarded the bed/settee area cleaned rabbits out and now going to make tea

Det, retirement is weird because we always seem to be busy doing ‘work stuff’, haha! Glad you are keeping busy

Pauly, that OTC sleep stuff kind of piles up in your system. It’s generally a good idea to skip a night at least once per week so your system can clear it naturally. Benadryl is especially problematic that way.

Mick, I just remembered one of my daughter’s friends went & studied in Scotland for a year, she loved it there. She was an art major & I think she actually wanted to stay.
All done with my gift project, now i’m going back to the rescue group sewing for the animals.

I met some old work friends for lunch, stopped at the supermarket, threw some cubed chicken & pasta with a dairy free sauce in the IP for dinner & here I sit
It was sunny & 50 ish today but now I need to get ready for the big weather change on the way. Our turn to deal with winter I guess.

PQ, got the fire going tonight so I’m sending some your way.
I haven’t tried out those machines I brought home yet. They are going to need some cleaning & oiling & all that. I will get to them eventually. Stay warm & don’t lick any metal poles!!!!
