    Re: 4th September

    MAE ALL...

Sounds like everyone is doing ok and is safe and sound. I am totally exhausted after the day I've had so apologies for not responding individually. All my fall programs start on Monday so dealing with cancelling low registration classes, setting up new Long Term Rental clients with all the changes they want and then the Queen died. I have been working for months with the Minister of Health's office to set up a BBQ for next weekend. The Canadian Government is honoring the 10 day mourning period which means they have to cancel and try move it to the following weekend. That created a whole new set of problems. And of course we haven't seen any money from them so we'd be out $3K if the whole thing folds. Except apparently the cheque is in the mail, who knows. So I am escaping into a book and forgetting this day actually happened. Hope everyone has a good night....:smile:PPQP

Yes our monarch died last night. As you can imagine, the country is in mourning. Church bells are tolling, there is a weird atmosphere .not doing a lot today. It's pouring with rain. However going to look at another van later
Hope everyone has a good weekend

        Re: 4th September

        Greetings friends,

Sunny & a not too bad 82 degrees today.
We went up to Lancaster County for lunch today, nice day just to get out. I have begun cleaning out some of my raised flower beds. Getting lots o steps in dragging it all to the compost pile, haha.
This morning 5 people, including 3 children were found shot to death in a home in MD, not too far from here. Tragic, sounds like a probable murder suicide situation. Mental health issues seem to be getting worse & worse, not to mention the huge drug problem they have down there. Such a sad event.

PQ, sounds like you had your hands full yesterday. I hope things have settled down by now.
Hope you were able to rest & relax a bit.

Mick, rain again for you, oh boy!
Our news is still full of stories & reports about the queen today. She was certainly loved worldwide.
Good luck with the van search

Cyn, hope you have rested up after your long trek.
Don’t know about you but I’m ready for some crisp fall weather & wrapping up in those sweatshirts.

Pauly, Det & Sam, hello to you!

        Have a nice night all!

          MAE ALL...

If I thought yesterday was hectic it was nothing compared to today! If the phone wasn't ringing the emails were piling up. That includes the ministers office. Geeze

Mick...you sound a little down today, hope everything is ok. Hopefully you had good luck with the van even if you had to do it in the rain.

Lav...nice you were able to go out for lunch, just getting out sometimes makes all the difference. Glad to hear your getting your steps in, keep it up. LOL How tragic about the family in MD. You're hearing more and more about these things. Got the most important things accomplished today, the rest can wait till Monday. Not dealing with work at all over the weekend.

TG...like Lav said, I hope you've rested up.

Shout out to Det, Pauly & Sam.

One of the kids is BBQ'ing hamburgers so I got out of dinner duty tonight. Haha Hope we all have a good night....:smile:PPQP

            Mae all -

PPQ, so sorry for your rough days!! I’m glad you are going to take the weekend completely off... I hope it works out that way, and hope next week is easier 💚.

Thanks for the recipe, Lav! I will check it out. So sad about that family that you mentioned... now that I live in a city environment,,I am shocked at the crazy violence that erupts in parts... I hope we will see some better days when the economy and politics settle down... one can always hope...

Mick,,you do sound down... the queen’s death has effected even those of us across the pond... I can’t imagine how hard is is for the citizens of the UK... sending solace. And hopes for a new van, if the right one shows up...

Hello to Pauly, Sam, Det and all else dropping by -
Tomorrow is the full moon - good vibes -

              Re: 4th September

Hello everyone how are we today then? Hope all is well. The weather has calmed down a little bit here thank goodness, but still overcast. I think we have seen the last of the heatwave! Had no doubt everyone will have seen, Prince Charles was crowned King this morning in the proclamation. It is really weird. People are getting on with their lives however there is just an air air-con off of I don't know what it is over the place. I think the thing is is Queen Elizabeth was there throughout so many people's lives and then all of a sudden not, despite the fact it was going to happen inevitably. I feel a lot better today day, yesterday I was very weary tired and generally exhausted. Went to look at a new van yesterday, and provisionally bought it providing it passes all the inspections. It is the same size of van length wise, but is actually a 6 berth van. One of the rear beds fold up and give you a massive garage which is what we want. It is only 3 years old with with a euro 6 engine which does not incur any clean air zone charges. And it has done 8.5k miles. Few jobs needing done but that's for us not a necessity .got a good price for my current van .

Hiya lav how are you doing?have you managed to clean the flower beds out? That sounds like a real tragedy with that murder suicide. drugs have a lot to answer for. I I picked about 15 tomatoes this morning, someone quite ripe. But I have left them in the window to Redden up. Some really weird shaped ones. Hope you have a great weekend.

Hiya ppqp and how's canadia on Sea doing?did it calm down for you or did you just switch off to the emails .hope you enjoyed the burgers thanks for your concerns .I think knackered itis that's what it was.

Hiya teegee how are you doing?hope things are OK with you yes that service was on you tube so I put the address of it down for you. Yes we can only hope though at times it seems like a forlorn hope. Are you taking it easy?have a nice weekend

Hiya pauly how are you doing?how are you keeping?

              Big hello to everyone else

                Re: 4th September

                Greetings friends,

Clouds moving in now ahead of a rain day tomorrow. It only hit 81 degrees today so that was good.
I’m trying to be a good big sister to my younger brother but it’s not easy keeping my mouth shut. He has a daughter who is lost in the drug world, had her 3 kids taken away from her & placed with my brother & his wife last February. She was supposed to be using this time to get herself cleaned up & employed & fit to be a parent agin ahead of a court hearing scheduled for October. Sadly she has done nothing, refuses rehab & is about to be kicked out of the house her parents have been paying for. It’s such a sad thing she can’t pull her head out of her a$$ & see she is destroying the whole family. She just spent a few nights in the hospital with some unexplained gastric pain for which she was given narcotics DUH. Drug seekers will seek drugs anyway they can. I told him today that cutting her off & throwing her out of the house he’s been paying for is really the best thing. She’s been enabled way too long. Now she will have to decide to do or die, her decision. This weighs heavily on my heart & I can’t do anything to help because they are on the west coast but I can listen & be supportive. Such a waste.

PQ, you deserve a peaceful weekend after all that stuff this week. Hope it’s nice & quiet for you

Cyn, hope it feels good be back at your own place.
I know city life is much different, the Philadelphia news is scary. Every weekend it seems there are at least 10 people involved in shooting, lots of innocent bystanders & children too.
That situation that happened yesterday near me was in a quiet country development. Such madness everywhere. Hope your weekend is relaxing.

Hello to Pauly, Det & Sam.

                Have a nice night all!
                Lav

                  Re: 4th September

Quick Sunday night hello... I don’t have TV, so I have done a lot of reading of articles about the Queen, and the changing hands of power. While reading, I apparently had been sitting incorrectly on my left leg, so when I got up to walk to the kitchen, I fell flat... my left foot had gone completely to sleep... we’ll see how badly I turned it... crazy!

Lav, such a sadness for your brother... AL and drugs are some of the most evil things on earth... causing people to lose touch with themselves... I’m sending your niece Light... maybe she can still walk away...

Mick, well done on the Van exchange, that’s amazing! And good job on the tomatoes...
I hope the rabbits are happy you are home.

PPQ, so sorry for all the hubbub that you have to endure... I’m sending calm vibes for everything to chill out...

I seem to still be quite tired from my trip... i did take a nice evening walk (before I turned my ankle)... hoping that tomorrow will be a bit brighter...

Take care all - Sam, hoping things are well with you - hello to Pauly and Det and all dropping by...

                  Take care,
