Sorry to hear this, Mick. Kind of you to post the update.

On that ?PQ Wins the Lottery Trip to Scotland ? I?ll take an aisle seat, thanks! Clear margins means that no cancer cells were left behind.

Lav, I made a cabbage pie yesterday. Maybe the most fun recipe ever! Do you add additional flavorings to your version?

Hope your knee feels better, Slo.

TG, odd characters sometimes appear in my posts as well. Gremlins?

Oh Mick, what terrible timing! You started packing and everything! End-of-life is such a tough time.
(The shovel was a groundbreaking invention -I like that one!)

That was a good idea to patronize the pizza restaurant that wants to be a corporate sponsor for the community centre, PQ. I?m sure your sons were pleased too.
I see what you?re saying; this boss is not just thinking out loud. He?s communicating what he means to do. Good strategy to just not sign up any other renters for this Summer season until he makes a firm deal with the potential longtime renter.

I?m having a good time with Huxley. He is eating well and sleeping well, and is busy crawling all over the place. He got a third tooth in too! He has a bad cold, that I hope I don?t catch. Yesterday we went over to my condo for an outing, to visit with my sister who is taking care of my cat Boyd.

Interesting to hear what your coursework entails, TG.

Lav, that reminds me: my next door neighbor got the ball rolling to get me in with a good pain specialist whom she works for?but I haven?t heard back from that doctor!
I stopped wearing my knee brace when some Internet blah-blah-blah said chronic brace-wearing can prevent a knee from healing. But, I guess it doesn?t have to be all-or-nothing. I?ll get it back out for days when I?m on my feet more.

Pie, maybe you need a fancy mop like the one available got to mop up after her dogs.

Lunchtime! Bye.

Good evening friends,

The rain arrived around 4:30 this afternoon. Looks like it’s going to be a real soaker. We actually need it right now.

Mick, I’m sorry to hear Julie’s Dad is back in the hospital. We just have no control over the timing of these things. He’s safe & hopefully comfortable now so that’s good.
Keep your chin up & keep us informed on his progress. Hang in there buddy

PQ, damn that snow, Lol. Sorry you’re dealing with that mess this late in April.
A new pizza place sounds nice, glad you jumped right in haha!! One of my regular embroidery customers suddenly had the need for two reading pillows TODAY! Luckily I was able to put one together & she picked out one that I had already made. She came to pick them up & handed me a scarf she knitted As a gift. How nice was that? I’ve save it for the return of winter this fall.

Pie, glad you enjoyed the cabbage pie - pretty cool, isn’t it? I’ll season things according to my mood so feel free to use whatever you like
I personally like fresh dill when I can find some.

Slo, I would certainly use that knee brace PRN. If you know you’re going to be on your feet, walking a lot just put it on. It helps stabilize your knee so why not?? There’s way too many quacks on the internet these days. Glad your time with Huxley has been fun.

Cyn, thinking of you & hoping all is well.

Have a nice night everyone!

Re: 16th April

Mae all,

Thanks for your patience -- I'm not sure what I was doing last night, but oh well, here I am now. Mick, sending comforting energy to Julie, and support to you as you both go throught these days... tricky times. I hope it's still possible for you to travel - but of course these things have their own timeline, as Lav said. Thinking of you both...

SLO - sounds like things are getting more stable? I hope so - and do whatever it takes to help your knee - and whatever nurse Lav says!

PPQ - so sorry about the winter weather continuing... at least the month name is APRIL, so that should help somehow - even better, the next month is MAY - let's hope for some buds on the trees for you.

Pi - hoping that your weather-fix is working on your patio, and I'm still keeping fingers crossed for the medical evaluation...

Yesterday evening I did an Life Story Interview with a cherished friend here in Tahoe - also a recent widow. It is part of the assignment for this week in my coursework. It is so interesting to be asking these "life" questions, and she was a great interview-ee, as I thought she would. A single mom early in her life, she was an entrepeneur (sp) and a great mom -- such an amazing story - then remarried and spent decades in DC in the halls of power there. Fascinating.

I am watching a beautiful sunset that is turning the still-snowy peaks peach-colored. I am working through a lot of painful and sad emotions while I'm here, which is a good thing. I hope to leave here lighter (in a soul way) than I arrived. My sweet poodle friend is a great consoler... lucky me!

Wishing all well - thinking of your situation, Mick --
