    Re: 24th September

    Friday night greetings to all,

Clouds all day but no rain. Tomorrow is supposed to be the same so I’m thinking maybe I won’t miss skipping the Apple Festival after all. That’s been bugging me the past few days butI know I made the right decision. YB is still hobbling, not able to help out as usual with these things. He seems to have periods of calm comfort then the pain returns in a harsh way. I feel he needs to just sit & wait this thing out but he doesn’t listen of course. I got him a shower chair because he has a hard time standing, that arrived today. My grandsons stopped by a little while ago & they got their hands all over the kittens. If I’m lucky maybe I can send one or two kittens home with them in a few weeks.

Wags, glad your pup is OK. Catch upon your sleep- it’s vital!!

Mick, a haggis herd, oh my Lol
I have learned to ignore all that plastic junky holiday stuff in the stores. I have tons of holiday stuff & none of it is junk! I promised myself years ago to not buy anymore, don’t need it haha! Good luck with the van guy!

PQ, keeping my fingers crossed that you don’t get any snow until at least Christmas!!! It’s just way too early, haha.
You guys should post some notices about the theft of water bottles & other kitchen items. And be sure to send them a bill for what they have taken & the cost of cleanup.maybe they won’t want to come back haha!

Slo, Cyn & PIe, hello & hope you all have had a good day.
Have to go close up the chickens, it’s dark already at 7 pm.

    Have a nice night all,
    Lav

      Re: 24th September

Good morning all and how are we today then question mark hope everyone is doing well. As you may or may not be able to tell I am actually doing this yet again on my phone in the car. Julie is yet again painting, there is only one wall to finish but I have done my usual body swerve out of the road! It is raining now, fortunately yesterday the skies were nice and bright and the rain held off whilst the guy ceramic coated my van it looks absolutely brilliant comma and we'll certainly save a lot of time cleaning it as well. On Monday it gets its habitation check to make sure it is fit for purpose for stop both rabbits doing well though as I cleaned the rabbit hutch out this morning Bonnie decided that newspapers did not belong in her hutch and proceeded to make them into confetti. I managed to trace that old photograph yesterday of the haggis herd. There are not many of them left uncertainly not kept in captivity I have put the front room back together again now, hopefully after tomorrow I can do the same with the dining room full stop this afternoon I'm going to go up and look at the train layout, I'm looking at redoing not only it but also some of the electrics and the way they are wired very much in the same way as me all over the shop haha hope you all have a pleasant weekend, and I hope ybs pain eases off.

Sorry i missed answering you ppqp...I don't like Christmas..2 reasons..it is so commercialised,it bears no resemblance to the true meaning, and secondly it is a time of personal loss and tragedy for our family. As for trick or treat. Just doesn't do it for me

TG, not able to locate the dog or page you mention. Can you post a link or screenshot? We have a staggering number of stray/unwanted animals in this part of the world. It?s horrific and embarrassing. Shelters are overwhelmed, and euthanasia rates are high. Groups and independent rescuers do what they can, but it?s not enough. Our climate allows for animals to survive outdoors virtually year round. Cultural attitudes against spay/neuter contribute mightily. I applaud the groups who are able to transport dogs to northern states for adoption, but it?s costly so those numbers are small. Happy to take a look at the Austin pup, just need help finding.

Happy weekend! It’s gorgeous weather here, very warm and sunny! I just enjoyed a great bike ride.

Lav, Penny is smart to find shelter and comfort for her kittens. On, I hope the grandsons will take a couple kittens!
It must be frustrating to be missing the Apple Festival craft fair, but it is the right decision.

Speaking of apples, I am loving having fresh, local apples from the farmers market! I got another bag today.

PQ, drawers & cupboards with locks may need to be installed in the kitchen or break room for the employee’s food & supplies at the community centre, and then locked on the weekends when the renters are there.
Sounds like a good day at work, and an early start to the weekend too!

Yesterday my mother wanted help, and the back of my car, for getting a table desk and a chair that she purchased home to her apartment, so I spent the day with her doing that, plus a little shopping and lunch. Then stayed to watch my niece’s soccer game in the evening over that way.

Mick, yes, “Silly Season”, as our Army used to call it, has commenced! China makes a lot of money producing crap for our particular holidays! My mother always goes all out with holiday decorating. For instance, there’s a dozen witches on her two couches alone. Her place does look very warm & cheerful though! Me? I put up the minimum amount I can get away with, and skip the minor holidays (like Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, July 4th etc.).
The van is sleek & shiny!

Wags, I hope you can catch up on all your missed sleep.

              Hey gang,

We had no rain today but the cloud cover was heavy & it feels damp. I hope the Apple Festival went well for everyone. I know how much time & work goes into preparing for these events. YB can only find comfort when sitting at this point. Of course that doesn’t stop him from hobbling around like a nutcase all afternoon haha.

Mick, the van looks very sharp, brand new even
You have been busy with all your jobs, good for you!

Pie, I hear all the shelters up my way are full & not accepting animals at this time. I don’t know what to do about this feral cat (Penney_ who keeps having kittens, geez. I hope you can track down that dog & possibly help.

Slo, nice that you could help your Mom & great you had such nice weather. We are promised the same for the coming week.

Hello to PQ, Cyn, Wags & everyone!
Hoping we all have a nice night!

                Re: 24th September

                MAE everyone,

Finally back to a more balanced routine. Pup is doing well and I'm much less exhausted (still a little bit though - I think more from the cumulative stress of the past 6 months or so). Today was a combo of one short class, visiting my dad, getting a couple of quick "autumn backyard shutdown" tasks done at home, and relaxing. My dad and I watched a football game together in the big living room area at his care home. He was already out there when I arrived - made me so happy to see him out there! Tomorrow I have 2 classes - morning and late afternoon - but my wife and I are going to spend a few hours in a funky part of downtown in between - that's always fun.

Lav - glad you felt good about your decision to skip the Apple Festival. It sounds like your husband is still dealing with significant pain. I hope you're able to find good homes for those kittens when they're old enough, and that you can get the mama spayed.

Pie - my state (or at least my city) is one that takes a lot of shelter animals from warmer states (mostly from California for us since that's closest), but our shelters are also totally full and there are lots of pets without homes. It's just heartbreaking to be honest. Thank you for trying to help at least some of them in your area.

Mick - your van looks fantastic! I'm so impressed with all your projects.

Slo - it's astonishing how much plastic and other single-use is produced (and bought!) these days, for holidays or not.

PQ - sorry to hear of the renters taking staff items or even utensils! Not sure what they were thinking. I hope your weekend is treating you well.

TG - sounds like you have a very good sense of what self-employment is like, and I can see why your TJ's job without many of those responsibilities is a nice change of pace.

Hellos and waves to anyone else I missed. Enjoy your Sundays!
