    Re: 18TH Feb

    Greetings friends,

Today was YB?s 2nd cataract surgery, got him home in one piece. It seems to have gone well.
Rain just moved in late this afternoon, will hang around tomorrow too. Just heard we?re to have weather in the 60?s next week, wow. That will be a nice taste of spring. Here?s the kitty mandala pillow:

    IMG_6654.jpg

PQ, sorry to hear your weather forecast. I promise I won?t brag next week, Lol
It?s good to get those skins spots looked at & biopsied early. Hope you get a good report. Tomorrow is Friday, hope it?s an easier day!

Cyn, sorry about the dreaded head cold, ugh. The first few days are always the worst. I hope it goes away quickly.
You know, ever since my head injury/surgery in 2000 I have a terrible time reading & staying focused. I understand how it feels. I tend to read shorter, article length writings so I can stick with them to the end. Don?t overwork yourself & delay the healing you deserve

Mick, I?m sharing rain with you now. We won?t have any drought problem this spring/summer.
Glad to hear Julie?s dad is getting good care. I?ll bet you will be happy to get that tile job done haha!

Slo, I?ve never been to a chiropractor & never will. Our nursing instructors had very strong feelings about them way back & made us promise to stay away.
With your multiple issues, I think I would find the best physical therapist & go with what they recommend. The PTs have such extensive education these days, you can count on their opinions. Of course you have to do what you?re comfortable doing. I hope you find some good relief real soon.
We do have about 2 1/2 acres here so the cats can roam all day haha! Have fun at the water park with the kids, sounds like fun times
Does it piss you off that the ex & girlfriend went to St Thomas? I think I would be PO?d

Hello to Pie & anyone else checking in tonight.

    Have a good night all!

MAE ALL...another busy day but it does make it go by fast. No accountant today or tomorrow so the drama meter was at a low.

TG...sorry to hear about the head cold, they're the worst. You take care of yourself and rest as much as you can. I have those books that flip back and forth and have re-read a lot of pages too. I try to stay away from them.

Mick...you had a busy day as usual. Good news that the lens can be repaired. It's nice to hear Julie's Dad is getting such good care, usually you hear the horror stories. I haven't been sleeping well, I think my brain doesn't want to shut down, so the busy days have been draining on me. Sleep is slowly getting better and there's only one more day to go. No accountant again tomorrow so that helps.

Slo...I have never been to a chiropractor either and don't intend to ever go to one. Lots of people I know do and they're happy with them. Each to their own. I like Lav's advice. The childcare director is back at work but is having physical therapy on her back nightly and it's getting better. The hotel waterpark sounds like a fun time.

Lav...glad round 2 of the cataract surgery went smoothly. Nice kitty pillow, you do great work. Apparently our deepfreeze is going to short lived with back to above normal by Wednesday. I can put up with that. Yes, I'm looking forward to Friday. I think I have every available date booked till next summer so dealing with requests will be easy. LOL

Waves to the rest of the gang. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

mae all...how are you doing today then?hope all is well just taken the car to the garage hopefully pick it up tonight ..And yes ..I got soaked to the skin walking back...sad I know but I didnt mind ..I have just reproofed a jacket...and it works .Pick up my lens tomorrow ..messaged the guy this morning ...and he has almost done it ..then next week concentrate on the van as we are off to London the week after .Managed to finish the tiling yesterday ,and also it stopped raining for a wee bit so I did a bit of fencing too.Shoulders are aching today ..thats due to repetitive grouting and no longer in spring chicken mode ..

hiya ppqp ...how are you doing over there ?stop those wee wheels turning and get some sleep .Yes it is good that her dad is getting the care he both needs and deserves. No accountant today? peace and quiet on poets day !!!hope you have a quiet day and a nice weekend .

Hiya Lav ...tile job done ...thank goodness .I enjoyed it but glad to see the back of it .how is yb doing today ?hopefully he is ok.welcome to the rain ...we need to compare type and style ..ours is getting more summery ...with a lukewarm temperature ..as for water shortages and droughts ..you can bet your bottom dollar we will have them ..it will be the wrong kind of rain or some crap.that pillow is neat work well done you .

hiya Slo ..how are you doing today? hope all is good .Glad you found that vid interesting ..he is a clever guy ..and a lot of his other stuff is interesting .I saw your thing about a second opinion ...and I have also seen the opinions on here about chiropractors..
Firstly ..yes definitely definitely get a second opinion .Now I can speak from experience on chiro .Many years ago..I did my lower back trying to rip a tree /bush out of the ground ..it won.I was in agony .I went to a chiro who told me I had got a prolapsed disc..and that nothing could be done for it ...so for 10 years I went at least quarterly for back treatment ..heat and massage .then one time I was in so much pain I could hardly move ..instead of chiro I went to a physio . I tiold him the symptoms but not what I had been told it was ..poked and prodded ..he told me what it was and it certainly wasnt a disc .he he explained that he felt that as I pulled I had twisted something around my femur creating a gap ...the muscle and nerves etc had got trapped ..I cant remember the exact wording .and it had all grown through the gap ..I was on my back he twisted and pulled etc ..it was bloody sore ..but after I walked out of there..2 weeks later I was walking Mt Vesuvius .Yes I still get aching and do exercise but nowhere near what I used to suffer. So yes ..food for thought .
hope you have a good weekend with your daughter

a big shout to everyone else ..

          Re: 18TH Feb

          Hey kids,

How’s everyone? I thought we were supposed to get rain today but it was no more than a drizzle. It’s just damp enough to create all those nagging achy joints if you know what I mean. Trying to keep my focus on the mild weather coming this way for a few days next week. YB went in for his postop check & was told he now has 20/15 vision - even better than expected. He’s very happy & even threw away the glasses, he won’t be needing them.

PQ, glad you’ve had a few quieter/non drama days at work. All that craziness can certainly destroy your sleep. I haven’t slept great the past 4 nights but I truly think it’s full moon related so that should be improving now. Glad you got a semi-break in cold temps too, it gets tiresome for sure. Have a fab weekend

Mick, hope the rain stopped so you could pick up your car without getting soaked again. Glad to hear your lens is fixed, that should keep you busy taking pics. I have to agree with your thoughts on chiropractors. They will ‘treat’ you forever & still never get to the root of the problem. I hate seeing people go through all that when they’re in pain for so long. I’m enjoying the cat pillow so far & none of the cats have messed with it yet haha!

Hello to Cyn, hope you’re feeling better today.
Hello to Pie, what’s your weekend plan?
Hello to Slo, hope you enjoy your weekend with thefamily.

          Have a nice night all!

MAE ALL...finally Friday. It was much quieter today and got everything caught up. Boss is working at our Casino on Sunday so he's taking Monday off. YAY

Mick...so I suppose you had to walk back to pick up the car. If it was raining I hope the reproofed jacket worked. Good news on getting the lens back, you'll need it for your trip to London. I never knew the story of your chiro experience, thanks for sharing that.

Lav...I know what you mean about the nagging aching joints, I don't even need it to rain. LOL I'm glad YB's happy with the results. Have you decided where you're going for the birthday dinner?

We've got an event tonight and a big one tomorrow, the phone is off. Shout out to everyone else. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

              Mae all,

I?m better enough so that I will be back to work tomorrow. I?ve lost 2 days of work, but glad I stayed home... I hope I can swing the 8 hour shift tomorrow... I think i can.

Lav, so glad the cataract surgery went well and has good results for YB. And the pillow is adorable! A real winner!

SLO, wouldn?t that be interesting if you don?t need all that stuff that doesn?t seem to work well? I had one brilliant healer who was a chiropractor/osteopath but who worked in many different ways and who helped me a lot. I was lucky - several friends recommended this person. One doesn?t know what to do if there?s no experience to go on. Wishing you well -

PPQ - my goodness, never a dull moment for you. I hope that it is true that with you bookings nearly complete your workload will be much easier. Here?s to that!

Mick - so good to hear that Julie?s dad is being so well taken care of. Tonight is the anniversary of both my father and mother?s passing - ten years apart. Yes, same date, 10 years apart. I still have a nagging feeling that I wish that I had done more for both of them. I lived out of town since I left for college, and though I visited a lot, I didn?t live there.
And though I was with each of them at their deaths, I missed many times to be there to help out. But life is what it is. You and Julie are living a life of no regrets - good for you.

The full moon is gorgeous tonight. I pulled my plants close to the window, and left the blinds open... I think the moonlight will be a special treat for them, as it is for me. But then again, I talk to the plants, so... maybe a little crazy here...

Hoping all are well on this near-end February... cheers,
              TG

                  Re: 18TH Feb

                  Good evening all,

Sunny today which was nice but now it’s getting frosty. Looking forward to the middle of the week when the temp is in the 60’s. Made another pot of soup today, nothing else of any value to do, Lol

Mick, really sorry to hear about Amy’s cat, that’s so sad.
So your car is going to cost you to get it back, sorry about that too. I know how that can hurt the wallet. Hope your weekend is going OK otherwise.

Cyn, how did you get through your day at work? Rest up when you can! The cat pillow did turn out cute, my cats haven’t found it yet so that makes me happy haha!

PQ, keeping that phone turned off I hope
The weekend belongs to you & not the company!!!

Hello to Slo & Pie, hope you are both well.

                  Wishing everyone a nice night!

MAE ALL...been doing only what I want to do. LOL It's been a nice quiet day, just puttzing around. It's sunny out and started lightly snowing around 9am. It's quit now until tomorrow night when I'll be getting up Monday morning at -20C/-4F to brush the car off. Tuesday will be cold and snowy and then another chinook blows in. I can handle 2 day cold snaps. Hopefully spring comes soon.

TG...hope you survived your 8hr day. Glad you're feeling better so don't overdue it.

Mick...so sorry about Amy's cat. I remember the pictures of Amy's place. Isn't this the 2nd one that something happened to? It never ends for you. Did you get your lens back? Now you have to dole out more money than you were expecting for the car. Hopefully all will get sorted for the London trip.

Lav...I have got to get into making soup, especially with this weather. Yes, phone is off, boss is around today to deal with anything at work. He's doing the casino tomorrow, I quit volunteering for them about 5yrs ago. Put my time in and I'm way too old to work a 12hr shift. Hoping to get a hair cut in tomorrow, wish me luck.

Thinking of everyone else. Have a great night all...:smile:PPQP
