Oct 24th...It's a Good Morning Muffin!

    Hey, Muffins,

Hope everyone is doing well and that Allie is having the time of her life in sunny Puerto Rico!:yay:

I let myself off the wagon yesterday and had two glasses of wine. Today, I've had only one--so far anyway.

I'm going through a medical scare related to the reason I wanted to cut back on my drinking and get the hormonally active fat on my tummy to take a hike. I've been having surgeries on my not very healthy breasts since I was twenty and my first tumor was discovered. Now it looks like my troubles are back. I have a highly competent breast surgeon who will see me as soon as she is next in her office which, fortunately, is Friday.

I'm really scared, exhausted and depressed. A good friend of mine is a breast cancer specialist who teaches Harvard Med. She looked at some pathology slides for me about seven years ago and told me that I was putting my life at risk ago by not doing what she would have done if she were me: getting rid of my useless breasts. Maybe she was right. Maybe not. There is a chance that the current changes are nonmalignant.

    I'll write more later.

    E

You are lucky to have such an educated friend in the medical field. She sounds like the perfect support person for you. Please be well and keep us posted. Hugs!

          Yes, Eustacia,
I certainly hope you get this taken care of and behind you as soon as it it right. I learned a bit with that Race for the Cure for Breast Cancer awareness. There are SO many brave women out there who battle this disease. Malignant and benign, the awareness and fight must continue. It makes our petty vanity about our breasts seem absurd. I am so glad you are informed and please let us know how we can help during this time.
          I'm thinking about you.
Take care. Best to you. :l
