They say that recognizing the problem is the first step to change. I just hope that tomorrow, when I feel better and not so hungover, that I will not think that means I can drink again. Unfortunately, though I think otherwise, I can't have "just one drink."

New beginnings - I hopeI was driving to work today and thinking about how I stumbled and blacked out last night (it happens at least once a month, and it seems to be getting worse), and I just thought to myself/just realized that I have a drinking problem. i know my brother does (he's stopped drinking for a year now), my father does, it's all in the family, but I guess I thought somehow that I could handle it. I just started a chart for myself and realized that for the past week, I've been having at least 5 drinks (whisky, mostly) a night! How could I not have even realized that? I feel terrible this morning. I can't remember what I did last night, but I know I made an fool out of myself.

 New beginnings - I hope

 Hi there,

We all came to the site with similar feelings. We read RJ's book and followed her recommended plan. We manage the cravings through the supplements, listen to the CD's, exercise (well, some of us) and come to the forum and share our experiences.

There is much hope when you have encouragement of others. Stay with us.:welcome:Enlightened by MWO

 Welcome Smile,
I remember that feeling and it's growing further into my past now. Keep reading and posting and this is possible. Be serious about it and you will succeed."Keep your eyes and heart focused on the end goal at all times, and never settle for less."

Hiya, welcome. Yes agree, the day after is the pits, blackouts..... don't even want to know what I don't remember as it is never anything good.. At best I was just particularly annoying to people ... at worst, well I don't want to go back there just now. I really admire people who can write and tell their story, not for me yet but hopefully I will be that strong some day. I do know that the longer I am a member here the stronger I get. Looking forward to reading more posts from you.

LornaRather die standing, than live on my knees, begging Please..... No More.......
