Underoos et al - June 2011

    Well Undies,

Here I am, all signed up.

    Hi,
I hope you're sitting comfortably because I have some shocking news. I'm about to embark on a feat of endurance that makes a triathlon look like a primary school egg-and-spoon race.
I'm participating in Dry July - the charity that helps adults living with cancer all over Australia - and have sworn off drinking alcohol for the whole month. That's 31 days where I'll actually be accountable for my actions. Yikes!
In appreciation of my radical transformation, any generous support you may be able to offer will go a long way to ensuring I don't fall off the wagon, as well as helping the many adults around Australia that live with this terrible disease. (That's cancer. Not teetotalism).
My profile page link should you wish to make a donation and leave a message of support is: http://www.dryjuly.com/profiles/raggsymwo
I hope you believe in the concept as much as I do and can help support me whilst I go Dry this July!!
Thanks in advance for your kind sponsorship,
    Raggsy

Job's right, Raggsy. I'll see if I can work out what to do and when to do it without involving my Nigerian Uncle's son.

Hiya Undies - sorry - bit busy today talking to medical type dudes and dudettes about stuff of which i had no prior knowledge. I feel my brain is fried.

Now ... exactly what is it about bloody Cup Cakes??????

You have to have been baking them for 70 years.

                        Woo-hoo Sunny ... it's in the queue and I'm awaiting it's arrival.!

Last night's was "Animal Kingdom" ... very good look at Melbourne's underworld stuff. Ben Mendelson (sp?) is a ripper bloody actor.

Watched Animal Kingdom a few months ago. Was pretty interesting. True Grit is a good ol cowboy movie. Did you ever watch No Country for Old Men TF? If so what did you think of that one?

No Country for Old Men ... yep. Saw it. I think I actually have every one of the Coen Brothers movies on DVD now. I think they're brilliant and they make me THINK.

                            Gotta go hori.

Nighters, lovely Undies. mwah mwah mwah ...

One question to you all for tomorrow: What is your take on medical insurance? Do you have it, use it, need it?

Good Morning All, and I'll take this one.

I maintain my Private Medical Insurance even though I can ill afford it (I didn't intend the pun but will leave it in) mostly so that I can access a private hospital with no drama.

                                The reasons are simple
                                1. I have worked in the public hospital system and found it to be lacking to the point of severe danger at times.
                                2. To support my worst fears, a few years ago I was discharged from casualty by a resident at 1am having been shot full of Diazepam and Pethidine because I was off my tits and insisted that I felt 'great' now. Turns out I had peritonitis, and by the time I presented again 12 hours later my bloodwork was highly suggestive that I had about 12 hours left to live. Just as well I've got a BLOODY strong body, because we haven't got a strong health system.

Oh, and I also claim for massage
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?
