One Step at a Time - August 2015

I leave Monday Blue and I did not get my review, but we were insanely busy getting ready for our trip.
Just in from getting my hair cut and colored and had the doctor check my sinuses. Infection is gone but still really stopped up so I am on Mucinex and Flonase for now.

Oh...ok..Mama.
Glad the infection cleared up!

Mama - I am glad that you went to the Dr. I'll bet your hair is beautiful.

I guess everyone is out & about today. I've just been lazing around and loving every minute of it.

We've had a good time the last couple of days. It was my someday daughter-in-law's birthday yesterday. Well, we didn't know for sure if we would see her on her birthday so we decided to decorate on Thursday evening. I got decorations from the movie 'Frozen' and got her some little goodies from that movie - snack cups, fun pack, stickers and a headband.
But, the main present was tickets to the group 'Heart' at the Hollywood Bowl. She loves 80's music. I had taped the printout of the concert to the back of the package with the headband. She was just loving all the little gifts and held up the headband to show my son. Suddenly, she saw that Heart concert. She was thrilled.
She texted me later and said that she had never had a surprise party with presents and decorations. She pretty much raised her younger brothers & sisters since she was about 12. So, it was nice to spoil her.
Then last night we took them out to dinner. It was a fun time.

Oh....Nora that is beautiful! Shoot I'll be 50 September 2...and I've never had a surprise party. We're are very close...but in my family if you don't plan your own het together ot won't happen...lol
I learned that when I turned 30 and got all dressed up thinking somebody was going to do something for me....and was very disappointed...so I always plan my own.
I know she was really happy!

Skyped with Mark today. It's been awhile. He is doing very well and settled in. He has met a lot of new friends and they seem to get along well. He seems so grow up to me now. He loves his job there! He said it's going to be hard to come home. I'm happy he has this opportunity.

Morning all
Off to the gym then laundry I guess. Looks like rain all day.
Had a great time with Paul on Saturday and yesterday evening. He made a fantastic chicken salad for dinner and we had corn on the cob and tomatoes from my garden. Then we just watched TV and talked. Very nice and he is a very sweet man. Plan to see him again this weekend. He still works. His wife died of Alzheimer's and he had to spend all he had to make sure she was taken care of. So we split dates and that is fine with me. He stepped up when some would have run so I respect him for that.

Hello friends. Dottie you are sounding better today. That rain is headed our way. It's been a long time since we've had any and we surely need it.
Nora, do you work full time? Hope your still feeling strong. I must confess, I had thoughts today. Came out of the blue. But I persevered.
Blue, how was your AF Monday? I find day 1 to be the toughest. Hope your feeling ok.
Off to at own meeting. There is a liquor store going up directly across the street from me
It will be on the far side of the property, and for that I'm glad. I will have a parking lot and lovely bushes facing my house. It is currently a farm with a garden store. Can't fight city hall, but darn it we tried. Off to make sure they stay within the parameters of the ordinances. This stuff makes me so anxious!
Nora, I will loss myself in my current book when I get back. I am reading "The Help" and enjoying it very much. Haven't even taken time to watch netflix!

There is at least one person here who is not truthful about having a drink now and then, and she pretends to be AF. She also isn't truthful in her "positive" comments about some others, when she really thinks you aren't so smart. That stinks. And Mama is always truthful.

Blue - how did Day 1 go? Hope you're doing ok. It wasn't really a surprise party for my son's girlfriend - it was just the 4 of us. But, she was so touched that we decorated and had gifts and a cake.

Well - I'll be back. I got home and got on the phone with verizon. Having a big mess and have been dealing with them for days. Transferring me from department to department. I have talked to so many people. Anyway, I'm going to finally go eat dinner and deal with Verizon tomorrow.
