Yesterday while driving to work, the brakes on my car decided to stop working. Talk about waking up in a hurry! Thankfully, my car is a standard and I was able to downshift and slowly come to a stop. Apparently the brake line blew, so now we have two vehicles out of commission, as Mr. J is trying to fix his truck at the moment. Thankfully, we have a wonderful neighbor who is letting us borrow her car for a few days.

Oh my, Jude! I am glad that ended well and that you stayed cool and collected in the moment and managed to take the correct action.
A few years ago there was a novel by Anthony Doerr called, All The Light You Cannot See. (2014). I saw a teaser on Netflix last evening advertising a limited mini series starting Nov. 2nd, based on the novel. It looks like it is going to be very well done. That was a really great novel and making movies based on books can often miss the mark, but hopefully this one will do the book justice. I think you read it, Techie, and maybe some others here did as well, which is why I wanted to share the news.

Dill, that was a great book! As you mentioned, quite often when a movie or show is made, it never comes close to being as good as the original story. We'll just have to see I guess.

Getting a bit colder here in Van now too but thankfully no snow, and the days having been getting up to about 10C in the gorgeous sunshine! Went to my first concert (Tool) since before the pandemic and really enjoyed it (even without booze). Then of course came down with a bad cold a few days later (figures the first unmasked public event I go to I would catch something). Still trying to get out as much as I can to enjoy the sunshine though. Hope everyone is as well as can be, and living the healthy sober life!Originally posted by abcowboy View PostComment
