Good morning cafe! It's going to be hot and humid today. Mr. J's niece is here for the weekend to help with the garden which is in desperate need of weeding.

Rava, A golf cart parade? I would've loved to have seen that. Did you decorate your cart?

Twenty four more for all of us please...

That’s an unusual-looking sauna! I prefer hot tubs over saunas, but, now with the low blood volume problems from B6 toxicity, I can’t do any of that.

Good thing you had the Ranger, Dill! That sounds really scary with the coyote.

I watched whatever fireworks I could see from here, but never go to the actual congested places to see them. Your story, Rava, is a good reminder why!

I’m not in therapy, Jude. I haven’t had good luck with that. Someone gave me the name of an online therapy, and maybe I should try that.

If real estate could make someone happy, then that condo would: a beautiful view of a pond out back, with a view of gorgeous trees on the far bank! And out front, a view of a meadow. I should have taken it, and not been scared away by my own fears, plus the advice against taking it by a couple of naysayers.
But, alas, I think I’m too impaired right now to move. And it won’t make me happy. All houses feel like too much of an effort when I can’t get around very well. And, maybe someday I can move in with a friend or relative and split expenses. That’s what I would really like, I think.
So I need to hunker down and heal over the next three years as much as I can. Then assess what kind of living situation I can handle with however much function I get back. Right now, I need to keep it simple.
The part that galls me is though is having to pour money for upkeep into this place that I don’t even like much! Well, I shouldn’t have bought a 20-year-old place.

Ok, I’ll try to be done with that.

ABC, that's the same sauna my son got. They love their's! I'm not a fan personally of how it makes my lungs feel but they find it relaxing after long work days.

Waves all! I'll take another day

Cross post, Rava. OMG, that fireworks event sounds like a mess! I'm glad you weren't there. I stayed home and listened to the fireworks event while I watched a mystery on TV. Mr. D was feeling under the weather, so he was in bed, poor thing. Have fun today at the golf cart parade!!

Thanks for the picture of the sauna, Cowboy. That is quite a project indeed! Well done to you and Corey! Sauna is not my thing either, but to each their own!

Jude, I didn't know where to start with the dot painting either as there are so many kits available. That's why I was happy to get something small and limited like the one Ginger pointed me to because I wanted to be able to have a completed project and understand the basics. That kit I did was exactly what I needed. My granddaughter loved it and it is now hanging in her room. I have a butterfly from the same artist waiting in the wings, so to speak.

Slo, that friend that suggested you are "chasing happiness through real estate" sounds very wise. He or she is a keeper, for sure!

Nice quiet day for us yesterday except for a brief run in out in the woods with a mama coyote that got a little scary. We had our dog with us off leash of course and she was determined to run that mama away from us. She thinks it's her duty to protect us. Well, that mama wasn't going anywhere, I can tell you! She made some really, really threatening sounds the like of which I've never heard before up close. We took her warning and got away as fast as we could, which was pretty fast because we were in the Ranger. I was really scared for Lily. It could've turned very ugly for her.

Waves to Rava, Mul and Techie.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Good morning Cafe. Happy to wake up early and sober! Lots of boozy stories I am seeing on my local feed from those drinking and partying. Our local firework display (Which I never attend) got out of hand when some stupid teen shot fireworks into the crowd starting a stampede. People can ruin anything….. Today we are having a neighborhood golf cart parade so we are getting ready to ride around the hood. Hope everyone has a great Saturday. 24 more please and thank you.

Thanks for the tip on the dot painting Rava, that's something that I didn't know. I've been looking at so many kits on Amazon but I can't seem to pick just one so maybe I'll have to get several.

Wow, great job on the sauna cowboy! Like yourself, sitting in a steamy enclosed space isn't really my thing, but to each his own.

Slo, I think that your friend is right about trying to find happiness by moving to a new condo. Those sad feelings will move in with you along with the furniture. Not to be nosy or unkind, but are you seeing a therapist? I am currently looking for some therapy as my head isn't in a great place right now, but I will not drink!

I'm in for another twenty four hours of serenity...

The new condo wouldn’t have had problems and repairs because it was only five years old and barely used; only one responsible person lived there by herself, she didn’t have guests staying over hardly at all, and she only lived there half the year!
But Dill is right: I would’ve had have been in a nerve-wracking situation trying to sell this one. And I’m quite sick & depleted & weak in the first year of vitamin B6 withdrawal, and with a foot that isn’t functioning right, so, not in good shape to be moving. I don’t really have the energy for it.
I also would have lost a lot of money buying & selling & moving…however, I’m also going to lose a lot fixing up this money pit. They talked me into a new furnace as well as a new A/C, with price breaks. Ugh.
I must move on from this now. As a friend tells me, I’m chasing happiness through real estate; and a shiny new home isn’t necessarily going to make me happy.
    Thanks for your perspectives, all.

    Thanks for checking in, Ginger!
I’m not doing anything today either, Dill.
Glad you can finally get out to Adam’s place, Cowboy. I am proud of my son-in-law for getting that sauna put together by himself. I should tell him that!

Ginger, I wonder if you can use voice dictation to post for the time being? I don't see any way to do it here on my tablet, but I have done it when I have posted from my iPhone. I don't enjoy posting that way because I am a creature of habit and typing is my go to. But, the voice dictation is a good option for special situations, like your current one!

Another gorgeous morning! Great day for the 4th of July celebrations and parades. However, Mr. D has had a stomach/intestinal virus for the last few days and is not feeling up to par, so we will be having a quiet day here, apart from the sound of distant fireworks!

Rava, I too enjoy checking local property listings even though we are not in the market. I am hoping home prices start coming down and becoming more affordable for young people to get a start. But I know that's not going to be good for folks like in your situation where you had to buy when the market was high. I feel for you on that, but luckily, you're not needing to sell.

I bet you'll get a lot accomplished tomorrow, Cowboy! Enjoy the day with Adam.

Good Morning Cafe and Happy 4th of July! Jude if you go to amazon you can also look up diamond painting kits. If you get ones that say full drill they will be the entire picture vs just parts of the picture if that makes sense. There are so many kits you can get. I have key chains, magnets and pictures. It’s fun and passes time easily. Slo, keep checking the market. There is always another condo for sale and if it comes along you will know it. In the meantime keep up with your old condo so when you are prepared to sell it you will get the most money for it. I like to check realtor.com every single day even tho I am not buying. I just love looking. Ginger so glad your surgery went well. We will look forward to longer posts as your hand heals! Hi to everyone on here and hope you have a wonderful day. 24 more please and thank you!

Glad the surgery went well Ginger and the recovery goes just as well. What's wrong with typing with your left hand, I do it all the time lol.

What's done is done Slo, as the saying goes "when one door closes, another one opens" and I'm sure that will happen in your case as well, just need to be patient. Too bad about all the repairs you need to do on your place, but things like that happen when we're homeowners.

We finished up the sauna yesterday, now just to do the wiring next week once Corey gets the trenching done. I took a pic of it, just have to get it uploaded so I can post it. It's pretty cool, but saunas aren't really my thing so I don't think I'd spend the money on one.

Got a good weather forecast for the weekend so Adam and I are headed back to lake tonight when he gets off work so that we can get an early start on the sewer line tomorrow morning. Hopefully we'll get everything finished with the sewer so that I can call for a plumbing inspection.

Waves to the rest of the gang! Hope y'all have a great Independence Day and long weekend! See y'all Monday morning!
