        It's sunny today and the temps will be up to 25F later today. That will feel SO WARM after all the cold we have had. I'll not be breaking out the shorts and t-shirts though because the reprieve will be brief.

        Jude, how are things going with the boot? Are you seeing the light at the end of the tunnel?

        I believe I mentioned that I would be joining our auxiliary board as Vice President. Well, just when I was getting the hang of it, the President stepped down due to health issues leaving me to stand in the breach. Oh my, this is not what I had signed on for. It involves a much bigger level of commitment. Today is the first official day of my new duties.

            Geez dill, I'd be terrified of being the president of anything! I'm sure that you are up to the job though. :happy2:

            Tomorrow I have an appointment with the ortho doc and hopefully I can ditch the boot and drive my car again. Fingers crossed!

            It's another chilly morning here at 10? Fahrenheit, but it is January after all. Our neighbors to the North are still getting hammered with Lake Effect snow, which they are measuring in feet not inches.

            Where did you go techie?

                No, we didn't do anything special for my birthday [MENTION=20929]Ginger999[/MENTION], it was too darn cold to venture out anywhere lol.

                You'll do a fine job as President [MENTION=7944]dill[/MENTION], hopefully it won't be a lot of extra work for you.

                Hopefully your appointment goes good [MENTION=24080]Jude58[/MENTION] and you'll be back to driving yourself around.

                I'm off to Lloydminster this morning to have my hearing aids cleaned and serviced and my hearing checked. It's been 5 years since I got them and I think the hearing in my right ear has gotten worse since my last test, might need an update to my hearing aids.

                  Headed back to see family today and have lunch at the Olive Mill. It's a working olive grove mill and the food is wonderful. Yum!

                    Good morning Cafe. Dill, the president Yikes, Im sure you will do a great job! Jude, hope that boot comes off soon!!! Ginger, no thoughts of pups. I got a cute stuffed dog that I got a collar and name tag and I move her all over the condo. Kinda like faking my mind. Much easier than a real dog. LOL. Cowboy sounds like a medical day for you ahead. We are still having no sunshine here. Makes for a depressed mood. But no drinking for me. It’s been almost 3 weeks since my descent into hell. Not wanting any kind of repeat behavior….. Techie, please check in! QW also please check in. OK off to get a hair cut. 24 more please and thank you!!

                            My hearing got a little bit worse since my last test but she was able to adjust my existing hearing aids to compensate. She did say that it would be soon time for new ones and did up a quote for me, $5595! Hopefully I can get by with my old ones for a little while yet.

                              Good morning Cafe. Wow Cowboy, glad you can make do with the existing hearing aides. More clouds and rain today for sunny Florida. We are stuck in some El Ni?o pattern or something the weather forecaster says. Nothing exciting happening but I am staying sober. Hope everyone has a great friday! 24 more please and thank you

                                Cowboy, I am so glad your hearing specialist was able to tweak your current hearing aid to compensate for your increased loss. I am so grateful for the technology in the hearing aid industry. Mr. D has some really good hearing aids and he can actually direct the TV sound directly to his hearing aids using blue tooth. He can crank up the volume to his aids and leave the level going into the room generally to a comfortable level for everyone else. His hearing loss is severe.

                                Jude, quiet and uneventful are both good with me! This morning I started my day looking for cooked carrot recipes that mimic the Cracker Barrel carrots. I'm going to make some but I'm trying to decide if I should go with the stove top prep or a crockpot recipe. I bet your life is more exciting than mine!
