Good luck with the Dr's appointment this morning Jude, hope the weather improves soon for both you and dill.

Our youngest daughter has her Master's in Forensic Psychology Peachie and started out working with young kids. She now works in the Corrections department which is what she always wanted to do. Not sure she wanted to work with sexual offenders, but that's what's she's doing for now.

Good morning cafe. Dill, get to work safely today. Jude good luck at the doctors today. It seems like the older we get the more doctors we see. Cowboy, your daughter has a very meaningful job. I am sure she likes it and the world needs people like her. The mahjong game went well. I won so thats progress even tho it was a learning “mock” game. It’s not simple but I am going to keep learning. We meet again next week for another lesson. I am also going tomorrow to our community game to observe. Hi to Peachie, Mul and Ginger! Hope everyone has a great and sober day.

Peachie, thank you for sharing more of your story. I'm happy you're here.

Good for you, Rava. Sounds like you're picking up mahjong just fine!

Jude, may I ask, are these just routine check ups? If so, I think you're right, move those to better weather!

        Dill, be careful out there.

ABC, is Amanda the forensic psychologist?

        Hi to Mul.

Thankful for you all! I'll take another day of freedom.

Wow AB. I so respect your daughter. Good for her. I worked with a lot of disadvantaged people in my life but I so respect how hard her speciality must be. To be honest I couldn't do it. It would just break me.

Love to everyone here. Last night's post triggered me a bit. A lot. Remembering can really hurt. Jude hope your doc appointments went well.

Rava I've always been fascinated with mahjong. No idea how to play it tho.

Ginger I so admire you.. A real trooper with your knee.
Off to bed with my kitties. Bliss

Cowboy, you must be so proud of your daughter for choosing a career that many people could never do. Is this your daughter Amanda?

Ginger, yes, my appointments have been for routine check ups. Thanks for asking! As Rava said, the older we get, the more doctors that we have to see.

It's still bitterly cold here at 5 degrees, with a windchill of -25. Mr. J has an appointment this morning but I am staying home today trying to keep warm. I have a cat attached to my lap right now and it's like having a portable mini heater. Cats do have their uses!

Dill, I see that your area is also in the deep freeze as well. Do you want to borrow one of my cats? I've got lots to spare.

Rava, I'm glad that you're enjoying the game of Mahjong; it's a good way to keep those thoughts of booze away.

Peachie, sorry that you are feeling sad about the past. I've found that if I dwell on the past, that's where my head stays all day. I try to focus on the present, not on past mistakes and regrets. Some days it even works!

Hope that everyone has a wonderful day.

            24 more please...

Ashley is the youngest daughter, the Forensic Psychologist, Amanda is the oldest daughter, the one who moved back to Vermilion and lives with her mom. She has her own business as a Meeting Facilitator and mostly works online now. And yes, we are quite proud of all our kids and the adults they've grown into as I'm sure the rest of you are the same.

I'm off to Vermilion today to refill my prescriptions. Was hoping to meet with Amanda for a coffee but she's busy in meetings all day.

                Have a great day y'all!

Good morning Cafe and those with cats and freezing weather. Today is cold in Florida too but nothing like you are getting. Today I plan on observing a mahjong class just to watch how it’s played. I have learned so much on you tube and playing around with the tiles. We shall see what today brings. I had a family member make me so mad this week that my anger got the best of me. I am feeling a bit angrier and more bitter than usual. I need to practice some yoga or breathing techniques. I recognize this in me and need to put a stop to it. I see people becoming unraveled on their political views and sometimes I feel thats me but its not about politics its just every day life issues that are irritating me more than usual. UGH. It’s always something. Hope everyone has a great day. Thank you for listening.

Cowboy, you have every reason to be proud of your kids! What a blessing. Have a nice drive to pick up your prescriptions, Cowboy. I usually get mine mail order,

Well done on your Mahjong win, Rava!

Jude, thanks for the offer of the cat, but I'm going to pass. Two pets is enough for me. This bitter cold has been difficult, for sure! We are going thru our firewood really fast. Also, had to replenish heating oil yesterday. OUCH!

Peachie, good memories can sometimes be bittersweet.

Ginger, aren't you glad you faced down your fears and got that knee surgery?

It's a day at home for me. I'll probably be tackling the dusting and vacuuming. Burning wood is a messy business!

                    Not today...

                    Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Dill, I can't even imagine what a tank of heating oil must cost. Ouch is right. And yes I'm very glad I got my knee replaced. Now, if I could get everything else to stop aching. Lol

Jude, im sitting here with Cyrus on my lap. He's busy making biscuits. I love early mornings before that darn TV comes on.

                      Rava, have fun watching mahjong!

Peachie, I'm sorry your sharing upset you. You've gone through so much. I can't even imagine. We are here for you. Hugs

ABC, you must be so proud of all your kid's accomplishments. You and your x did a great job with them.

                      Hey Mul!

I'll take another day of freedom!
