5:19am in Alberta, 24 for me and everyone else who needs them please, and thanks...

In the last 24 hours, these friends have joined in for 24 hours of wellness:
    Jude58 dill Rava Ginger999 Peachie

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

A pie without the crust, now that sounds like a unique idea Jude lol. I remember ruining a lot of food back in my drinking days, mostly because of being way overcooked haha. Guess drinking was more important to me than eating back then.

I think you're really onto something with your teas Rava and I bet there are lots of flavors to pick from. I remember a few years back the kids were all into those David's teas, not sure if they are even around anymore.

Glad you were able to get outside and enjoy the warm weather dill, I'm actually looking forward to trading the snow shovel for the lawnmower lol.

I enjoy true crime shows as well Peachie and read a lot of crime/detective type of books.

Have you guys though more of selling your place in Arizona dill? I don't know if you'd be happy spending the winter back home unless you took up hiking in snowshoes lol.

Bubba and I had a great time last night! The food was fantastic and the band was great. We spent a lot of time on the dance floor which we love to do. Have a great Sunday y'all!

ABC, that's a delightful breakfast! I'll take seconds, if you have them. We will keep the AZ place for now and see how we feel next season. The older I get the more I like my solitude. Living in a resort does not lend itself to that. Ha!

Jude, I kind of figured they were being bottle fed. Poor baby mama. She was just too young to be a good mama.

Rava, I'm so happy for you that the tea is working so well! It's a good, healthy ritual!

No more crack of dawn hikes for me. I have to spend the cool mornings packing things up outside now. Yay! I'm ready for a big adventure on the travels home.

Dill, I bet you were so happy to enjoy that outdoor time! Hopefully, we've turned the corner on winter.

Peachy, has your weather started to turn yet?

          Hi Mul!

I've so enjoyed my time with little sis. The drive home should be fun for her. She'll see places she's never seen before.

I'll take another day of freedom!

Good morning all! Who wants to join me in another 24 hours of freedom?

Hi everyone. Thought it was just me about the 4pm stuff. It was always a strict rule no matter who was here! No one used to come over with drinks until after 4pm! Of course, after that, it was free flow. Lol. Dinner was always made but very often forgotten. Many a drunken tale was told. And many a hangover from hell.Ugh. I just love waking up nowadays without feeling like a drovers dog (Aussie slang).

Have had a busy day with chores and errands. I always surprise myself when I'm productive in my days. I actually did my washing, hung it out and brought it in on the same day and folded it. Wow.

Im still thinking about those little kitties Jude. I swear I could grab every animal in the world to love. Still miss my little dog Abbie. No one should live without an animal to love.

Haven't heard from my sisters yet. That's ok tho. They always get a shock when I fight back. I might have called them a few rude words but that's ok too. Better late then never! I've let it go.

I will have supper for my breakfast tomorrow AB. Hope you had a great time last night.

Have a great day everyone and love to you all.

              Night night

                      Waves to the whole gang!

Not much on my agenda today except I'm going to make a big pot of stuffed peppers. The green peppers were on sale at one of our grocery stores on Saturday so Bubba bought 8 of them. We have 2 for supper tonight and freeze the rest in pairs.

                      Not today...

Sounds yummy and a great idea to make and freeze ahead, ABC.

Peachie, I hope things settle down soon for your family. Sorry this is happening.

Jude, I can't get those littles out of my head either. I hope they are all OK and thriving soon.

Rava, what kind of volunteer work will you be doing?

Dill, how is your new computer working out?

Hey Mul, have the clouds parted and rains stopped yet?

Busy packing things up for the season. I'm ready to hit the road! I'll take another!

Ginger, the new computer is just great, but I do find the learning curve a bit steep. Switching from Microsoft to Apple involves developing new habits and I just don't learn as quickly as I used to I'm afraid. I'll get there though! Thanks for asking.

Jude, I'll join you for another day, and thank you for asking too!

Rava, you are inspirational. I suppose you might not think so, but it's true. Keep up the good work and the good fight!

Peachie, I hope things settle down and feelings get smoothed over. Family! It can be so complicated sometimes.

Cowboy, I must say that I have never taken to stuffed peppers. Stuffed cabbage, YES! But I've never been a fan of bell peppers. Still, your plan is a good one. You and Bubba get the prize for meal planning today.

                          Hi ya Mul!

Yesterday we were wearing short sleeves and enjoying 80F. Today we woke up to 34F and wind. Ahhh, Springtime in Ohio!

I went to the Grocery and whole pork loin was on sale. I asked the butcher to cut it into 1" chops for me. Now I need to get my magic vacuum/seal Food Saver gizmo out and freeze them 2 per package. So Cowboy, it looks like you and me both are planning for future meals!!

                          Not today.
                          Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Good morning cafe! I'm sad to report that none of the kittens survived. The vet said that they were born prematurely and that their lungs were not fully developed. They spayed the mother cat and now she is quite ill with a nasty upper respiratory infection, probably from the stress of being uprooted from her former life, (which wasn't great) and landing in a rescue. Despite all this she remains a sweet and loving cat and my heart is breaking for her. If and when she recovers, I may take her in as a foster so that she can stay here while she waits for her forever home.

Dill, I agree about the bell peppers as I'm not a fan of them either. I can handle a little bit of red pepper diced up in a sauce, but that's about it.

Peachie, I'm glad that you are letting go of things instead of immersing yourself in the drama. Who needs that!

Rava, I'm so glad that you have found a way to keep those obsessive thoughts of booze away. With so many different favors of tea out there, you can make this your new passion.

Waves to Cowboy, Ginger and Mul!

Aww, that's so sad about the little kittens and the Mama kitten. But at least the Mama will survive and have a better life.

We are taking a little road trip today to go visit an exotic store called Jungle Jim's. It stocks all kinds of ethnic and exotic foods and is really a learning experience about the world and other cultures. I haven't been there in years and Mr. D and I decided to revisit the place with granddaughter in tow as she is on Spring break this week.

I hope we all have a full 24 hours of freedom and healthy choices.

Good morning Cafe. Jude, I am so sorry about those baby kittens. I hope the mother cat recovers from her infection. That would be wonderful if you fostered her for a bit. Dill, I don’t know about inspirational but I will take the compliment. Thank you. The tea drinking is continuing and Mr R and I are enjoying it together at 4 pm. It also fills me up so I don’t want to eat as much dinner. Win Win. I have not lost any weight yet but we shall see. LOL. Cowboy the stuffed pepper dish sounds delicious. I would use sweet peppers tho vs green ones only due to the taste. We are slowly trying to eat our frozen food from the freezer as we leave in just a little over a month to head north. Time flies. Ginger, when is your official leave date? Mr. R and I volunteer at a luncheon for various speakers. It’s only a few times a season and yesterday was our last one. Hi to Peachie and Mul. I saw a man on social media talking about alcoholism in retiree communities. A lot of the drinking atmosphere is under Happy Hour. He talks about over 55 communities and how common day drinking is. Boy he nailed it. I do not want to fight this disease all these years to be taken down by it in my 70s. So I keep fighting…. So far so good. As I stumble thru each day I am winning. Hope everyone has a great and sober day. Volunteer day and mahjong in the afternoon. My day is full. PS I ordered a children’s mahjong set for ages 6 and up from amazon and plan to teach my grandsons this summer. They are already excited about it. I love this idea. 24 more please and thank you!!!
