Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.

In the book I'm reading, the detective suffers from anxiety/panic attacks and he does this 5-4-3-2-1 Coping technique that his therapist taught him. Since I'm sceptical about anything I read in a fiction book, I Googled it. Lo and behold if this technique isn't real! I'm not sure how many here suffer from anxiety/panic attack issues, but this might be worth a read.

10:48 and just getting back to Jersey - long day in NYC. Ended the day with a two mile hike - it was that or wait the half hour for the next bus on my route. Felt a few drops on the way home but just cloudy and a chilly 52 f. Tacked on another 24 and staying committed to another!

Hi everyone!
it's an early 5:26 here and very chilly.. but nothing like what you're all having over there in Canada.. we're hovering around 44° and with rain. yuck.
I have to say I'm looking forward to a cozy, af weekend! Think I'll turn on the heater..

Thanks for that link, abcowboy! I think that's a great technique and I will be using it. I can totally relate to learning something in a fiction novel and checking it out for yourself. Not too long ago I read a book called Labor Day. In part of the story the main character talked about making a fresh fruit pie, giving tips and techniques. Well, don't you know, I had to bake a pie just to try out his tips! LOL! The tips were true and the pie was grand! And Mr. D was the happy taste tester!

24 more here, please and thank you.

Don’t forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

A cold crisp morning here with lots of sunshine. I can deal with the cold as long as it comes with the sun.
I hope the walk felt good, Ory. In the past that would have created a perfect drinking opportunity for me, "I'll just have one while I wait for the bus." We know what happens next.
I like that technique, Cowboy. Even if I'm not in panic mode, just to ground myself every morning.
24 more please.

Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!
