Great quote, Jude!
From my experience it all has to do with my perspective. I can make or break any life situation with how I decide to "see" it. What I'm learning now, finally, is that it is possible to change perspective mid-stride.. If I miss it at first, it's almost never too late to take a step back and figure out how to go at it differently. Let me say that I've only had the opportunity to put this to the test in more or less "normal" life situations.. but I'm hoping that with this daily practice, I'll also be able to put it into action when something bigger/more difficult comes along.. which it's bound to!
Mr. V., the girls are actually missing 2 weeks of school.. but it was approved so there won't be any negative consequences.. They both have big years coming up where we won't be able to get away, so this was sort of our last chance.
What do you all have planned for the Holidays?
6:51 and time to make breakfast! Or I might just go out and fetch some donuts!
Here's to 24 more, lovely people..

I think that true happiness comes with having the weapons to battle all of those things in life over which we have no control. To me, those things come from within, having the inner strength to analyze any given situation, and say "O.K. how do we deal with this problem." Life can throw us some doozies, from something as minor as the car not starting to major blows, like losing a loved one. How we deal with situations that we can't control can make or break us. We don't always get to choose the events in our lives, but as has been said many times, we do get to choose how we deal with those events. We almost always have tools and outside resources available to us in times of need, but to me, the way to overcome any battle has to start our inner strength.
