Enjoy your time with your sister Ginger! Sure wish that my siblings lived close by, but we are scattered all over the country.

Mr. J has to take his sister to chemo today which lasts about 5 hours. The last scan shows that the chemo is shrinking the tumors, but I know that pancreatic cancer is tough to beat. The chemo has really affected her appetite and she is hungry but cannot eat anything without gagging, and has lost a ton of weight. Cancer sucks!

I'm in for another 24 hours of serenity...

5:23am in Alberta, another 24 please, and thanks...

In the last 24 hours, these friends have joined in for 24 hours of wellness:

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Good morning Cafe. Hope you are having fun with your sister Ginger. Jude, yes cancer does SUCK! I have a friend that got pancreatic cancer back in the late 90s and she is still living! She had something called a Whipple Procedure. So she is a miracle and you can never give up hope. I hope everyone has a good and sober day. 24 more please and thank you!

Enjoy your time with your sister Ginger, how is she doing on her not drinking?

Cancer does suck Jude, I'm sure Mr J's sister appreciates him being there for her.

I'm celebrating 3 birthdays today, I turn 68 years old, I'm 10 years sober today, and I'm also 3 years smoke free today. I can't tell you how much it means to me to be able to share my journey with all of you!

            Happy Trifecta Birthday, Cowboy!
We couldn't be happier for you. You have meant so much to me and I am so grateful to have found the Cafe. May you continue to enjoy many years of healthy, happy and sober living.

Jude, cancer sucks and I'm glad Mr. J is able to support his sister.

Rava, thanks for that miracle story about your friend with pancreatic cancer. That is such a hopeful message.

Ginger, have a wonderful time with your sisters. Laugh a lot!

            Waves to you, Mulburry.

Wow cowboy! Congratulations on all of your anniversaries, and may you have many more!

Rava, that's amazing about your friend with pancreatic cancer living this long. My sister-in-law has both liver and pancreatic cancer so the odds are low that she will recover from this.

Good to see you Slo! You should stop in to the cafe more often!

                  24 more please...

Poor little Lily has her appointment to have her tooth pulled this morning. Finally! I'm sorry for what she is going to have to go through but I'm also relieved that her tooth did not get infected before we could get the extraction done! She's going to be needing some extra TLC today.

Cowboy, again, CONGRALUATIONS! Thank you for being our fearless leader over these past many years. Did you and Bubba celebrate in any way?

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Good morning and Happy Birthday Cowboy! Also happy smoke and drink free birthdays! That is amazing how you did those two major things on your birthday. I am so grateful for all you do for us here at MWO! Wishing everyone a wonderful day. No drinking today or any day. I am reminding myself that alcohol is literally poison and not good for me. Now to try to cut back on my soda consumption! 24 more please and thank you.

Thank you everyone for all the birthday wishes! Just goes to show how y'all have been truly great friends!

Thanks for stopping by Slo, don't be a stranger and stop in more often!

And thank you for the yummy cake Ginger, I hope everyone got a few pieces! And it's great to hear your sister is still AF!

We didn't go anything special dill, had coffee with friends in the afternoon and ordered in pizza for supper. Hopefully Lily gets through the extraction without too much difficulty.

Sister told me last night she's terribly home sick! We shall see if she makes it 6 wks. Either way, I get to see her for awhile!

                            Good luck to sweet Lily.

I'll take another day of freedom

Dill, hope that Lily's tooth extraction went well yesterday, and that she isn't in too much pain. I need to have a back molar pulled in a couple of weeks so I will soon feel her pain!

Ginger, enjoy whatever time that you have with your sister. I can understand her being homesick, as I often feel that way whenever I go anywhere. A shorter visit might not be a bad thing if the time spent together is full of laughs and fun times.

Please join me for another day of freedom...

Ginger, I am a home body too, so I can relate to your sister's home sickness. I'm really happy to hear she is still alcohol free!

Lily came through with flying colors. She is recovering slowly but surely. The vet explained that the root of the canine is at least as big as, if not bigger than the actual tooth, so the surgery is kind of a big deal. I hope she gets back to her normal activity level today. For the next week she is only allowed to eat soft foods.

Jude, sorry you have to have a molar out!

Rava, are you still doing your volunteer job? Just curious.
