Dill, it sounds like your son is doing whatever he can to support his family which says a lot about his character. I always thought that the funeral home was responsible for transporting bodies, but apparently I was wrong.

We took Peaches to the vets yesterday and she's pretty healthy other than being extremely thin, dehydrated and full of parasites. The vet thought that she is about 5-6 weeks old and only weighs two pounds. . Way too young to be out there on her own, but she is safe now.

Yowza cowboy, looks like you've got a long way to go before you are finished with the harvest. Do you think that you will do it again next year?

Yikes, that's pretty small for a kitten Jude, but I bet you'll fatten it up in no time. I think I'll help with the farming one more year if he still needs me.

Good morning Cafe. Dill your son is doing an important job. Not everyone would be comfortable in that situation. He is needed and glad he can do the job. Our friend is a funeral director. These jobs are certainly needed and important to provide a high level of care for our loved ones. Jude, how is Peaches doing? She is our group mascot! The contractor said the door is covered 100%. Once ordered they will reinstall. I am thankful I was here and saw that nobody tried to break in or threw a rock into the door. It was definitely spontaneous! Jude, I always thought funeral homes did the transport, and maybe they do still play a role. Like everything else, I'm sure the business models have changed over time. Sometimes he travels pretty far to transport a body, like from Cleveland to Cininnati for instance which is about 225 miles. And Cleveland is about 200 miles from here. So glad you have become smitten along with Mr. J. That is one lucky kitty!

Good morning cafe! Peaches is doing well, but she is still wary of us humans, but I think that in time she will begin to trust us. Now the cafe has 2 mascots, Cyrus and Peaches.

Looks like another day of picking and canning peaches. After that we will be visiting the local apple orchard so that I can make sauce. Then come the tomatoes. Uggh!

Good morning Cafe. How could I forget Cyrus!!! Thank you for setting me straight Jude. Two mascots!!! LOL. Our sliding glass door has tape over the broken panel. Luckily it’s a double paned glass so we still have protection. A man across the street came over and said he used to own a glass company and that glass that is made in China has been known to break like that. Makes me wonder? How do you know where it’s manufactured when you buy it from a local business. Anyway, thankfully it will be taken care of. Hope everyone has a good and sober day. No booze in my day planned. The booze noise in my head is getting quieter. Thank goodness! 24 more please and thank you.

Interesting to hear that the glass was made in China Rava, what don't the Chinese manufacture! At least you still have some protection and security till the new one comes.

Your cold room must be huge Jude to fit all your preserves! Do you end up eating everything each year?

That's quite a distance for traveling dill, but as long as he's okay with it, it's a job that needs to get done.

I have heard that GLP-1 drugs are affecting the user's cravings for alcohol as well as food. It quiets the chatter in the brain. Rava, your post makes me wonder if anyone has tried it specifically for alcohol or smoking. Hmmmmm

Fires are all over out here. We are socked in with smoke. Prayers for the fire fighters.
