Dill, I'm glad your hospital stays for now. It's so important! I too looked up ABC's Kapusta. I love sauerkraut. I can sit and eat it right out of the jar. It's so good for your tummy! I'm glad Mr. D is considering the knee surgery. I wish I could get mine done today and get recovery started! Fingers crossed they'll say I'm a candidate and Mr D too, if he decides to move forward with it.

Rava, two hours for soccer? I'm giving you the grandmother of the year award! Good for you.

Jude, that is a huge dairy farm. Are there any creameries around, where you can get ubber fresh cheese and ice cream?

ABC, you're on the home stretch now with fresh laundry and a full tummy! I hope everything runs smoothly to the end.

Wow, we had a hell of a monsoon in AZ. There may have been a couple lost lives in our area. I haven't heard how our place faired but should know later today. If you've never lived near a desert it's amazing after a rain. Foliage pops out over night. It seems very surreal, it happens so fast.

    Hey Mul!

    I'll take another!

Feeling a little off today so sorry about the short post. I'm thinking that I might go back to bed. Hope that everyone is doing well and can join me in another 24 hours of freedom.

Hope you're feeling better, Jude. Thank you for the invitation to join you for another 24. I'm in!

Ginger, I watched two different videos about kapusta. One was a soup but the other was a dish of some kind of sausage cooked in onions and sauerkraut. I make a version of that myself fairly often. I sometimes add perogies. Mmmm. The ladies in that video were drinking red wine as they prepared the dish and when they were done and sat down to eat it, they poured themselves each a double shot of vodka and downed it before tasting the food! I've never seen a recipe video quite like it! LOL I have to say, it actually turned me off.

Cowboy, I'm not sure how you have the time to do the wonderful breakfasts during harvest season. You're amazing!

        Hello Rava and Mul!

Not today. Have a good one, everybody!

        Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Sure hope you get to feeling better as the day goes on Jude.

Bubba puts small pieces of fried bacon and a bit of mashed potato to thicken it dill, it's one of my favorite soups. Don't get me started on having a drink while cooking lol, I've burned way too much food doing that! Glad to hear the hospital will be around for a few more years.

We eat sauerkraut quite often as well Ginger, fried with slices of garlic sausage cooked up in a frying pan makes a great meal. Hopefully you'll both be able to get the replacements when the time is right.

How did the soccer go Rava, was it a long day for you?

Well, was hoping today might be the last day of harvest, but it's more looking like it will be tomorrow. We are going to be short staffed today as the 2 Mennonite workers don't work on Sundays, and both Corey's boys have hockey toady, so it'll be just me, Corey, and his brother Scot. Scot and I will run combines while Corey runs the cart and does the trucking. These last 2 field are the furthest away from the yard (about 8 miles), so Scot and I will have lots of downtime waiting for the cart and trucks.

Good morning Cafe. Yesterday was a 12 hour day. 730am to 730 pm. Drive time 5 hours total. Watched 3 games of Soccer, Tee Ball and Baseball. I can honestly say baseball is wayyyyyy tooooo long……2 hours for a bunch of 2nd graders is too much. It was so boring. We sat thru it all tho. Dill, I am glad your hospital is staying! Must be a relief for now. Jude, hope you are feeling better as the day goes on. Today is fishing with 2 more grands. Getting in all that grandparents time before next month is over. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. 24 more please and thank you.

Jude, I hope you feel better as the day progresses. Tis the season for crud, I guess. Lots around here anyway. Feel better.

ABC, thanks for breakfast. Only one or two more days and you'll have another season in the books!

Rava, that sounds exhausting. Nothing harder for me than sitting. We clocked hundreds of hours back when our gkids were little. Can't say I miss that part! Shhhhhh don't tell. Have fun fishing today.

Dill, let us know if you try the soup. Sans wine and vodka, of course!

Hi Mul! Hope you've been enjoying the fall hiking. Wish I could join you.

                  Happy alcohol free Sunday everyone!

We've had just absolutely pleasant amazing weather the last couple days. I wasn't feelin that great today so did a shorter walk with my mom out at a nature park a bit out of town, was very nice out there. Have to make the most of these sort of days with cold and rain just around the corner (and yes I know we do need it). Hope the smoke is clearing for you ginger!

                    Here's to another 24 everyone!

Thanks all for the well wishes yesterday. I'm feeling much better today, it was probably some kind of 24 hour bug.

When I was drinking I always had a glass (or 3) of wine whenever I was cooking. I remember one time I baked a pumpkin pie and forgot to include the crust. Oops!

Cowboy, you are in the home stretch now with the harvest. What will you do with all of your spare time now?

Today is my day to work at the shelter and I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to stick with it.

Waves to all and here's to 24 more...

Good morning Cafe. Jude, I hope the decision comes easily when you make up your mind. It must be hard for you. Hope everyone has a good Monday. We lucked out with the hurricanes, looks like they are turning east and staying away from land. Ginger, I understand about the games. Watching your children play sports is more exciting than watching the g kids. Dont tell!!! Hi to Dill, Cowboy, Mul 24 more please and thank you.

I spent hours watching the 3 girls play volleyball and Adam curling Rava, I must admit at the time it seemed like a parent's obligation. Now I realize how much I miss watching them.

I had a good laugh at the crustless pumpkin pie Jude lol. I'm sure you'll make the right decision on your volunteer job. Not sure what I'm going to do now with my spare time as I have no jobs waiting for me to finish harvest.

Hope you're feeling better today Mulburry and that you got to enjoy a short walk in the fall weather with your mom.

I'm back in Veg this morning! We finished up harvest just after supper last night. I only packed up the fridge and food items and headed home. I'll go back out probably tomorrow to get the rest of the stuff and give the camper a good cleaning before I close it up for the winter.

                              Morning all!

Jude. I'm glad you're feeling better this morning. Whatever that was, it was thankfully fast. Good luck today and any future decision you might make about the job. So I must know, when did you learn there was no crust? After it was baked? Because I think crustless pumpkin pie and whipped cream sounds amazing and gluten free. Bahaha

Rava, how was fishing? Have you recuperated after the drive and games?

ABC, welcome home! Have you ever thought of volunteering? Our food banks are always looking for strong men to help! Hubby did when he first retired and really enjoyed it.

Mul, how nice of you to take your mom out for a walk. You're a good son!

Morning, Dill. Hope you have a great day!

                              Not today!
