5:23am in Alberta, I'll have another 24 please, and thanks...

In the last 24 hours, these friends have joined in for 24 hours of wellness:
    Jude58 Rava Ginger999 Peachie dill

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Bubba (my nickname for my wife) and I are early to bed people as well Peachie. We are pet free now after our 13 year old chocolate lab passed away a few years back.

When people ask me why I'm not drinking or want a drink Rava, I just tell them I used to drink, a lot, and that's why I don't drink anymore. If they ask why I won't have just one, I tell them one would just get me started so no thank you. You're doing the right thing by staying away from situations that could jeopardize your quit.

Waves to the rest of the gang...

        Not today...

Hi everyone.8.27pm here and as you are all getting ready for your day I am waiting for bed time. Have been binge watching a great show and the evening has gone very quickly.

We are in for temperatures of 41 and 39 degrees Celsius this coming week. Eek!! Thank goodness for air con. Wow Jude I would love to have 5 cats but we are restricted to having only 3 in the placei I live. So room for another kitty.

Ginger I also hope your knee is getting better.

Rava I'm sure if I socialised more I would drink far too much and probably fall over doing it. Haha. I'm well rehearsed of doing so.

Anyway hi to everyone and enjoy your day.

Looking forward to your breakfast for supper tomorrow Cowboy!

          Nighty night. Xxx

Peachie, what show are you watching? I'm watching "The Big C" on Netflix while I ride my stationary bike and "The Good Fight" when my cat and I go to bed. Hubby stays up later than I do. I'm always looking for good shows to watch!

Rava, I'm sorry about game night. I totally get it. We say no to a lot of things because of the flowing alcohol.

My last PT session is Monday. They will do an evaluation and probably release me. Fingers crossed! I'm ready to be done with that 3x a wk commitment.

Jude, I'd love to get another cat but hubby is absolutely against it. I don't get it. He loves Cyrus to pieces and doesn't have to do anything for him. I scratch my head!

Waves to all my pals! Ill take another day of freedom

Peachy and Ginger, I'm an early to bed, early to rise sort myself! not watching anything in particular right now, except before bed Mr. D and I are watching old Seinfeld episodes. Nice to have something light-hearted before bed in this world of chaos and worry!

Rava, that's a very good decision on your part! I know how difficult it was for you. I loved the quote you shared today. It's perfect. It sounds like the games may be an excuse tor the drinking. It's fine for some, but not for us folks with irreparably broken off switches! I wish people wouldn't ask why we don't drink. I know they don't mean any harm, and I'm sure I am guilty for asking that of others in my past. But, it can be so uncomfortable! Cowboy, I like your answers to those questions.

Jude, I love going to bed sober. It's so wonderful to feel naturally tired and to fall asleep with a clear mind.

              Hi, Mul!

              Not today...

              Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Rava, I think that you are making a wise choice by staying home on game night. I would definitely have a hard time not drinking with all that booze around. When people ask me why I don't drink, I usually tell them that I'm trying to live a healthy lifestyle. Loved the quote!

Peachy, what is the name of the show you are watching? I'm always looking for something good to binge watch.

Dill, I also watch Seinfeld episodes before I go to bed at night. It's a great way to end the day.

Ginger, maybe someday your hubby will change his mind about getting another cat. I'm sure that Cyrus would love to have a pal.

Cowboy, do you think that you'll ever get another dog?

                Hey Mul!

                Not today...

Good morning Cafe. I will have to check back for breakfast! Love the Seinfeld comments. I bet Mr. R could quote any scene from any episode. He loves Seinfeld and watches it often. Thanks for the tips on reasons why we dont drink. We all know why but explaining it to others can be difficult. I am watching He/She on Netflix. Episode 2 out of 6. Holding my interest so far. We are headed out with neighbors this morning to a car show. (See that is a social event that I can attend.) Ginger, I am glad you PT is ending. 3 days a week is a commitment for sure. Hope everyone has a great and sober day. 24 more please. I will check back and hopefully grab some scrapple! 🙂

It's a good thing you popped in ahead of me Rava, I was wondering what to make for breakfast lol

Have fun at the car show Rava, that's something I enjoy going to as well.

Bubba and I often share memories about Hank Jude, we both agree that he was probably our one and only.

I love Seinfeld reruns dill, Kramer being my favorite character of course lol.

Hard to believe your PT is over Ginger, how is the pain and mobility in the knee now?

That's way to hot for me Peachie, I'm presuming you have a/c? Bubba and I sometimes have breakfast for supper, it's a quick meal if we don't feel like cooking anything big.

Not much on my agenda today, just enjoy a peaceful relaxing Sunday...

Hi everyone. I've been watching Blue Lights. An excellent Irish show about rookie cops in Ireland. Not sure if you can get it over there but if you can it is great. What is scrapple ? Thanks for supper Cowboy. Feeling very tired tonight. Just had a busy housework day and it's knocked me around a bit. Yep, I've got air con Cowboy but i hate not being able to get outside when it's so hot.
Guess you all feel the same when it's too cold.

You are all inspiring me to give up my evening wine. Just not sure if I'm ready yet. We'll see. I know when I first started coming to MWO about 10 yrs ago I really had a problem and a pretty miserable existence. But I was in denial as many of us were.

Anyway it really is time for bed!!

                          Night night.

If someone asks why I don't drink, I usually joke that at my age I need all the brain cells I can keep. Then I just laugh it off. Lol

Yep, it's been six weeks of PT. The pain is occasional and is usually associated to overdoing. I'm happy with the results but it's been a rollercoaster ride for sure. Headed to the desert today for a short, easy hike.

ABC, thanks for breakfast! I understand not wanting another dog but you guys are such good pet owners. Some pup out there needs you guys.

Peachie, I just heard about Blue Lights yesterday on a podcast I was listening to. I'm going to see if I can find it. Thanks!

Rava, I'll check out He/She too. I've not seen it just scrolling around.

Hi Dill, Jude and Mul. I'll join you all in another day of freedom!

Thanks for the wonderful breakfast once again, Cowboy! I've never had scrapple before so I googled a recipe. I'm sure it would be delish, but I probably wouldn't order it. I'm not keen on organ meats. Around these parts you're more likely to find fried cornmeal mush on a restaurant menu. I've never seen scrapple on offer locally, but I bet in Amish Country I might come across it if I were looking. Seems to have Germanic origins.

Cowboy and Rava, a Car Show would definitely be a fun way to spend an afternoon! Our other favorite is Old Timer's Day around here where they show tractors and farm machinery from past eras with demonstrations included.

Jude, somehow I'm not surprised that you watch Seinfeld before bed. You and I seem to have a lot in common. Cowboy, Kramer is my absolute, hands-down favorite too!

Ginger, my puzzle project is back on track thanks to the color sorting suggestion. Thank you. I think I picked a difficult puzzle thinking I was picking a simple one. But, like I said, it's forward progress now. Sounds like your recovery from surgery is all forward progress too!

Breakfast for dinner for you on Sundays, eh Peachie? Hope you're having sweet dreams.

                                Not today.
