Cross posted again Rava, sorry to hear about last night but it sounds like you're determined to beat this and I have no doubt that you will!

Oh Cowboy thankyou for saying breakfast/supper. It made me feel precious and so accepted. I am still over excited so I best go to bed. Or not!! Rava I have learned not to give myself a hard time about anything. I am certainly not saying that you should drink. Heaven forbid. Just enjoy your grand kids today You are a really good person. Never, ever doubt that.
It took me a long time to believe that about myself but it has brought me peace.

      Night night everyone.

Rava, enjoy your gkids today and let the rest go. We got you!

Jude, if you do venture out, please be soooo careful. I'd be terrified to drive on bad roads after all these years.

Peachie, I loved Nurse Jackie too. I think it was one I binge watched.

Empyr3al, thanks for explaining. I'd say the Cafe is a "hate free" zone and we keep things pretty light. But we all know we are here for each other, if shit hits the fan.

Dill, enjoy those shanks when you find them!

ABC, another delightful breakfast. Thanks! I am going out to practice golf this week. I'm starting slow. I want NO setbacks at this point. We did hike the desert yesterday on very uneven terrain and I'm good this morning! Whoot whoot! I see the doc tomorrow for my 6wk follow up.

Mul, your pic made me a little homesick. Thanks for sharing your beautiful hike with us.

I'm grateful for all of you! I'll take another day

Good morning/evening everyone! Still undecided about attempting to go in to my volunteer job this morning. There's a foot of snow out there and I haven't seen a plow yet this morning so we shall see...

Rava, dust yourself off and move on. It does seem as though you are more tempted to drink when you're in Florida where booze is everywhere. I know that I would have a hard time staying sober in that environment.

            Waves to all!

            24 more please...

It might be best to just stay home today Jude until you know for sure the roads are safe. I imagine Mr J has some plowing to do in the yard as well.

Has the storm passed you yet dill or at least mostly over with?

I'm sure your appointment is going to be a good one Ginger, sounds like the surgery was a success.

How was the day with the grandkids Rava? Good thing you stopped drinking when you did.

You are most welcome Peachie, I consider everyone here precious to me and we're all so accepting so hopefully this feels like a safe haven for you.

Good morning Cafe. Thanks for the words of encouragement. I am so thankful that I woke up yesterday and was able to get on with the day. Had a good time yesterday with the kids and lots of drinking going on all around the pool. I stuck with water and had no desire to drink. My broken brain was not accepting any booze yesterday. Ginger I am glad you went on your hike with no issues. Good luck on your follow up doc appt. Jude, did you decide to go to work ? Stay safe. Happy Monday to all my cafe friends. No booze today!!!

Hiya everyone. It's 8.22pm here and still watching Nurse Jackie. Wow I can't even think what happens to her in the end but I'm not going to cheat and fast forward.

My day has been very quiet. In fact I have not got out of my pyjamas! i
love that but don't tell anyone! LOL. After I lost Ben and had my stroke I felt like I was in la la land for ever. I rarely went out and had trouble eating. Things have slowly started improving and my struggles with life are easing.

I do feel this group is a safe haven AB. Thank you.

Jude please don't go out on the road today. We are getting news from over there and I hope you're all safe and sound!
                    .
I have two sisters. Unfortunately neither live close to me. One, Annie my little sister lives over the other side of Australia. My elder sister, Mary lives north.

                    Night night everyone.

Peachie, sounds like a restful day! Are you close with your sisters even though they live far away? I consider my sisters my built in besties!

Jude, I chime in with the rest. Stay home!

Rava, I'm glad you dusted yourself off and enjoyed your gkid time. It's the best!

Hi ABC, Dill, Mul and Empyr3al.

Hiked almost 3 miles yesterday! My body is sore this morning but my knee is fine. Oh, and our Seahawks are going to the super bowl.

                      I'll take another day!

Cowboy, we had a foot of snow yesterday! Maybe a couple inches more than that. Mr. D definitely needed his front end loader to clear the driveway. Our driveway is more like a lane. It's about 300 feet long. That doesn't include the entry area to the garage, It was quite a challenge getting from the house to the barn to feed Pumpkin yesterday! Yes, the storm has passed, but behind it comes the really frigid weather for the rest of the week. It's 7F (-13C) here right now and will be even colder tomorrow.

Ginger, I would agree with your description of the general tone of the Cafe thread. We definitely support each other as best we can through life's challenges and pitfalls. And we focus on the positive. I, for one feel safe and valued here. Congrats on your knee and also your Seahawks!! Go Team!!

Rava, I'm glad you feel better today. What a relief it is to know that we can return to "normal". It's such a waste of 24 hours when we slip.

Jude, our county was on a level 3 snow emergency this morning which meant that only emergency vehicles and snow plows were allowed on the roads. That has been raised to a level 2 now. We can get out and drive IF we need to, but it is discouraged. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow morning and I should be able to go. Did you end up volunteering today?

Peachie, after your stroke did you have mobility issues? Don't worry, I won't tell a soul about your pajama day!! LOL. I haven't done one of those in a very, very long time.

                        Waves to Mul, and E3!

                        Not today....
                        Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

I've seen on the news how the east has just been getting pumelled with snow, wow. Apparently some parts of Toronto got 80cm of snow, that's almost three feet!

                          Not today!

Yes, I did go to my volunteer job yesterday and it was a tricky drive but I made it there in one piece. I'm glad that I did as there were only 2 other people that made it in. There are almost a hundred cats at the shelter so it took us awhile to get everything done but we managed to do it in a little over four hours. I'm glad that I went in though and was able to help.

Peachie, I often spend the day in my pj's if I don't have to go anywhere, and I don't feel the least bit guilty about it. I have 2 sisters as well, but they live far away in other states. Wish that I could see them more often. I'm glad that your life is getting better after losing people close to you and dealing with health issues.

Rava, good job saying no to the booze. It's got to be so tempting when everyone else is hanging around the pool drinking. Don't know if I could do it.

Wow Ginger! A three mile hike? That's awesome! All that hard work that you did in PT is really starting to pay off. I'm from New England so I'm going to side with the Patriots in the Super bowl.

Dill, we also got a foot of snow and I had to blast my way out of the driveway as Mr. J hadn't plowed it before I had to leave. Thankfully my car is really good in the snow.

Cowboy, how's the electric snow shovel working out for you? I just have this mental image of you out in the driveway with your electric shovel and a pair of those snowblower crocs. Sorry... It just popped into my head. lol

                            Hey Mul!

                            Not today...

Good morning Cafe. Wow it sounds like some of you got tons of snow. Lots of work involved with shoveling and moving it. Now the really cold air comes in to keep it from melting. Hope everyone stays safe in that mess. Peachie, a PJ day is fine with me. I often get in my pjs as early as 3 pm. Jude, I am glad you made it safely to work and sounds like you were needed with all those cats and so few workers. Ginger, so glad you are hiking and doing well. I am sure you are taking good care of that knee when you are hiking. Congrats on the Seahawks. I don’t watch sports but my family does and I know how excited they get! Hi to Cowboy, Dill, Mul and Al. 24 more please and thank you.
