    Good morning cafe!

Dill, thanks for the recommendation on something to watch on tv. I'll have to check out the Count of Monte Christo when it airs.

Cowboy, the back porch runs the entire length of the house. It's mostly used as a utility room and for extra storage. We had a contractor come out yesterday to check things out and see when they can start the work. They are an Amish crew and I've heard good things about the quality of their work. They won't be able to start on the project until June, so it looks like we'll have to patch the roof up until then.

Rava, that's too bad about the management changes at your volunteer job and I guess that all you can do is see how things go in the future.

Waves to Ginger, Peachie and Mul!

    Not today...

Good evening Cafe. Fell asleep on the couch again last night so I missed posting.

We are back to stinking hot weather again so the air con got a good workout today.

Ginger my days are pretty ordinary. My hobbies used to be outdoorsy things but as my left side has become a little bit weak I don't get to do them much. I still enjoy my walks tho. I used to do power walking but now it's making sure I just stay upright!! Lol.

Jude I watch a soapie called Home and Away every night at 7pm. It's Australian and has been running for 40yrs here. It's pretty mindless but you get to know the characters. Certainly not high brow! Hope your new porch doesn't cost too much.

Hi Cowboy hope your weather sorts itself out soon.

Rava so pleased your 4 o'clock tea is working out. 4pm was also my tough time. I've never drunk through the day. Loathed it. Go figure.

Emma and her Mum are struggling a bit after the death of their Dad/Husband. I so feel for Emma after losing Ben and then her Dad so close to each other.

I misplaced some biscuits and chocolate recently and started thinking about Ben but of course he's not here anymore to be the culprit.

        Hi Dill and Mul.

10 minutes til my show so I wish you all a great day.

        Night night

That sounds like a fairly big project then Jude, especially when you consider the old porch has to be removed first.

Did you notice much difference with the new management Rava? I wonder why the others left.

Is it much cooler in the mornings Ginger, does it at least cool down through the night?

That sounds like one of those universal remotes Mulburry, supposed to work with most tv's but usually only a few buttons work.

Good morning Cafe. Cowboy, the management is literally just one person who is not mean spirited but just stand offish. I cant explain it. Anyway she was off yesterday and her assistant came from another store. She was super nice and the day was great. So my attitude was adjusted and I am staying, for now! The decaf loose tea habit is a good one. I ordered a pack of sampler teas on Amazon from Tiesta teas and they are so good. I am making iced tea and hot tea and it is helping me so far. My head is on correctly right now. LOL. Dill, I am glad you got that font figured out. Ginger, enjoy floating today. I am sure you are loving it. I saw news on Michigan and their huge snow storm. Makes me feel so lucky that I am not dealing with that mess. I hope everyone stays safe, sober and has a good day. 24 more please and thank you!

Wow, Jude! I can't believe the soonest they can get to your roof is June! I guess that's an indication that they are really in demand and competent. I hope you and Mr. J are super careful doing the patching. I was thinking the other day about your dear elderly neighbor friend. I haven't heard you mention her in a while. How is she doing?

Rava, I hope you get accustomed to your new manager. It would be a shame for the store to lose you!

Mul, that's great that you will be watching the Count with your mom. I often recommend shows and books to my son but we don't get a lot of chance to sit and watch together. I would love that! He recommends books and shows to me as well. We seem to have some similar tastes, but he is definitely more into the fantasy genre than I am. I'm big on historical fiction. I listened to The Count of Monte Christo l audio book ast year and really loved it.

Ginger, how's that heat wave going? I heard the weatherman this morning and it didn't sound great for your area. But then again it didn't sound great for almost anywhere in the States!

Hey Cowboy, did you have fun on your ice skates yesterday?! I used to enjoy skating as a youngster. I haven't done it in about 20 years now. The last time I did I just remember how quickly my ankles gave out on me! It wasn't long before they were screaming at me to STOP!

Peachie. Wow! I can't believe you have a night time soap that has been running for 40 years! That's great! I used to watch a day time soap which I think is still playing but I quit watching when I went back to work full time.

We're taking my girl friend out for her birthday lunch today. We are trying a new place I think she'll like. It's a Japanese Steakhouse. We'll be drinking non-alcoholic beverages. Maybe some hot tea?

              Not today...

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

ABC, the night time temps are dropping to high 60s but by 9a we are creeping toward the 90s. I need to stop my complaining about the weather for Pete's sake! It's such a trivial thing compared to everything else going on. We are blessed to be here.

Mul, I love that you're so close with your mama.

Jude, that's a long time to wait for your porch roof. Will they rebuild the entire thing or just repair it? I hope you guys can get it buttoned up enough to keep things dry until June. I know it's your morning happy place!

Peachie, I watch Gray's Anatomy but it's only been on the air 22 years. Lol

Rava, I'm glad your tea is working for you and your job was good yesterday!

Dill, enjoy your AF girlfriend lunch. Sounds like a yummy lunch spot.

Counting my blessings and my AF days. Not today!
