Evening Cafe. Hope everyone has had a day of reasonable weather! Sorry about yours Mul.

Thanks for your sound advice Jude. I am so trying to stay out of the discord. It's so hurtful. Things are said in the heat of the moment which can't be taken back. Both of my sisters are very outspoken, one an attorney and one a retired school headmistress. Emma and i are fortunately/unfortunately both empaths and hate injustice of any kind.

Anyhow I have decided to let it go. It's easier as you get older to do that. I was the middle child, the black sheep and the scapegoat in my family. So now I fight back.

I am so grateful to have you to talk to. I hope I don't seem negative all the time.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Night night

You're right Peachie, money can cause a lot of family problems especially when it comes to estates and insurance. It's probably best if you distance yourself from the whole situation.

Thanks for pointing out my typo Jude, it was supposed to be coach/manager lol. I've edited it and fixed it. You might have to rent a potable storage unit if you have that much stuff to move out.

Seems like we all have our weather issues to complain about Mulburry lol, but at least you don't have to shovel rain haha.

Waves to the rest of the gang!

Hope you all enjoy the first day of spring/fall today!

Good morning Cafe. I completely forgot to post yesterday. Went with Mr. R to the doctor and his meds were changed. Hopefully his lower leg swelling will be better on this new med. Peachie, I am sorry about your family bickering over money. Money can be such a curse at times! Jude, I hope Mr. J did well at the doctor and he was able to drive home. I also hope your roof issues get resolved until the replacement in June. Ginger, sounds like you are in a sweltering heat wave. Hope you are still having fun with your little sister. Hi to Mul, Dill and Cowboy. My tea drinking is going well. I still want wine but I am not giving in. Tea time at 4 seems to be working well so far. I am trying to retrain my brain which isn’t easy. LOL. Well I hope everyone has a safe and sober day. 24 more please!

I didn't have time to post yesterday before I left for the volunteer job. The day got away from me when I got home. Mr. D had lots of little things he wanted to do outside that he needed an extra pair of hands for. He's high maintenance sometimes! LOL.

Just a quick stop in today to say, not today.

Mul, it's no fun hiking in the rain! I remember years ago, hiking out of a week backpack trip when it rained almost every day. The last day we hiked 11 miles with soaking wet everything. I've never been so happy to see my car! Lol

Oh dear, Peachie. I'm so sorry to hear about the money situation. Like things arent difficult enough. Don't feel bad about sharing. We are here for just that reason.

Jude, I sure don't envy your spring cleaning job. My back hurts just thinking about it. I hope you can get it done without incident and the work crew gets there sooner than predicted.

Rava, I'm glad you've found something to get you through the witching hour! It really does make a difference.

Dill, have things settled down with your volunteer job and the possibility of your hospital closing? I may have missed an update on that.

            Hey ya, ABC!

I'll join you all in another day of freedom!

Good morning cafe! I forgot to mention what happened at my volunteer job on Monday. When I was cleaning out one of the cat cages I found two newborn kittens with the umbilical cord and placenta still attached. I thought for sure that they were dead as they were freezing cold. As I held them in my hands I noticed that they were moving and still alive. The Mother cat had just been brought in the day before with a group of 12 other cats and was quite stressed, and she was paying no attention to her kittens. Thankfully there was a woman working that day who specialized in bottle feeding babies. She took over and brought them back to life. One of the vets checked out the mother cat and it was determined that she had at least one more kitten in the oven but she was making no attempt to deliver them. They decided to spay her and saved the two remaining kittens. Thanks to our resident "cat mom" and they are all doing great! It really made my day!

              Waves to all!

              Not today...

Jude, what a great story! Thanks for sharing that. You are exactly where you are meant to be with that volunteer job.

Ginger, the Organization has recently committed to maintaining the building we are now in for the duration of 10 years. Simultaneously they have begun construction on a new facility which will be a doctors office which will eventually house the remaining services currently offered by our location. So, things are settled somewhat. I likely won't be volunteering 10 years from now, so it has no real impact on me, but I'm happy for the employees that are affected. . Things have settled down on that front. Thanks for asking.

Rava, I applaud your noble effort to retrain your brain and I think I'll join in. However, I don't think tea will be my thing. I am going to try drinking a glass of cranberry juice, chilled and possible mixed at times with sparkling water. Yes, at 4:00pm, my witching hour. You know, one reason I got into using the crockpot so much was because cooking the evening meal had gotten so strongly associated with having wine, that I had to avoid cooking at dinnertime! I am now able to cook at dinner time, but the witching hour still exists for me because of my slips, I suppose.

Peachie, I'm starting season 5 of Nurse Jackie. It's so easy to relate to her struggles with substance abuse!

Cowboy, and Mum, greetings to you both!

                Not today...
