We had an outhouse Ginger, but only used it for serious business as well lol. I can still remember when we finally got running water and a bathroom in the old house, I was so happy that I wouldn't have to bath with my older brother in a big round galvanized tub that my mom would bring into the kitchen.

Good luck with the surgery Jude, hope all goes well.

A good mattress is so important for sleeping well Rava and helping to not wake up with extra aches and pains. Hopefully the topper works and you're not faced with having to buy a new set.

Waves to dill, Peachie, and Mulburry.

I've got everything I need to tackle the doors today, hopefully I can get one done today and the other one tomorrow. And on a good note, the Premier of our Province announced yesterday that we'll be staying on Daylight Savings Time permanently, no more changing clocks for us! Whoo-hoo!

Cross post dill lol, yes, they got the water and bathroom installed in the old house we were living in. The house was on the outskirts of town and there were no water or sewer lines out there yet. Once the city got those put in, all the houses on that block were able to make use of it. Enjoy the luncheon with Mr D today, Indo the same with Bubba lol.

Evening Cafe.Jude good recovery from your surgery this morning. Thinking of you and sending good wishes.

Wow Cowboy I remember those old bathtubs. Ours used to come out on Sunday nights in front of an open coal fire. Was too cold to use the bathroom bath. I was always second to be bathed and the water had started to cool a little!! Brrr.

Dill, foreshore is at the front of the beach/shore. Lots of walking paths, playgrounds, restaurants and cafes. In England they are called Esplanades. They also have donkey rides on the beach, which, when I was little, one ran away with me on its back! Lol. Always up for an adventure but I think I was only 3yrs old!! Dear me. Yes, the visit away certainly lifted my spirits.

Ginger, the cat who kept coming to visit has frightened little Rosie so I chase it away now. Rose is no spring chicken so I don't want her upset.

Rava well done on your tea drinking sticking. That is no mean feat.Bravo.

Time for bed folks. Wishing you all the joys of spring coming. The rain here was minimal but the nights are definitely cooler. Dressing gown and slippers back out.

        Night night

Peachie, sweet dreams. Enjoy the cooler weather.

Jude, sending prayers for a successful surgery.

Rava, I'm glad the tea is working for you. Did you share the name of the tea with us? I might have missed it. Can you share again?

ABC, good luck with the garage doors. Although, you wont need it. You're a champ at this stuff!

Dill, enjoy your new mahjong things. I bet you and Mr D will enjoy it! Have fun at your volunteer luncheon.

Headed to see my g-grand babies. The youngest will be one tomorrow! Grateful for all of my peeps here and at home. I'll take another day of freedom!

            Hey cafe!

I've been dealing with an ingrown finger nail that got infected and was quite painful. I had the nail removed about a month ago, but the pain and swelling never went away. I went back to the doctor and he took an X-Ray of the finger and found that I have an infection in the bone. Yesterday I went in for a bone biopsy and culture of that finger. It's very painful this morning, which makes it hard to type so I will keep this short. They sent me home with a very strong pain killer but I'm trying not to use them too often as I know that there is the potential for addiction.

Hope that everyone has a great day!

            Not today...

Hi Cafe. Ouchie Jude. So sorry you're in pain. Hope it eases off soon. Hope you are on some strong antibiotics too..Rest up and let us know when the results come through.

Quiet day here and have slotted back in to my home life. Still having trouble with Zorro, I have named the black cat causing trouble. It just looks like a Zorro. My fault because I wasn't mean to it at first.

Anyhow not much to say today so will go have my dinner and say goodnight.

              Night everyone.

Jude, I hope the healing is swift. It is amazing how much pain we can feel in our fingers. I remember when you mentioned the infection before. It's awful that it actually moved to your bone! Continued thoughts and prayers your way.

Peachie, thanks for the explanation about the term foreshore and esplanade. I suppose we have the same here but I've just never heard the terms. A term I am familiar with is 'boardwalk'. It isn't exactly the same, but it is very similar. As you can imagine, a boardwalk is more of a wooden structure. I'm glad you are having cooler weather. Hot weather is so oppressive!

Cowboy, I bet your mom was even happier than you to see that galvanized tub routine go!

Ginger I hope you enjoyed that visit with your grandbabies!

                Hi Rava!

We had a great time at the luncheon yesterday. Today is organized around food as well as we will be meeting in the middle with Mr. D's brother and wife for lunch today. Its a pleasant one hour drive for each of us from our homes to the meeting point.

                Not today.

                Dill

Good morning Cafe. Jude, ouch. That sounds painful! I wish you fast healing and hope the pain subsides!!! Dill, I am glad the volunteer luncheon went well and hope you have fun today with your next luncheon! Ginger, the tea is called Tiesta tea. It’s kind of expensive so I am making decaf tea and mixing it with half crystal light lemonade. It’s actually good. Easier on the budget! Today is the eye doctor in which they dilate the eyes. We will look like two raccoons most of the day. Hope everyone has a wonderful and sober Wednesday!

That does sound painful Jude, hopefully they can get to the bottom of it and get the infection taken care of.

Sounds like a win/win situation for getting to see Mr D's brother and wife dill, meet in the middle and enjoy a lunch and visit. A great way to spend the day. I think mom was happier about the new bathroom than us boys were lol, and hot water right from the tap without have to hand pump it and boil.

I'm glad you mentioned the optometrist Rava, just reminded me that I'm overdue for an eye exam.

I don't think you could ever be mean to any animal Peachie, but I get what you're saying. He now figures he has a nice second home haha.

How was the day with the g-gkids Ginger? I'm guessing you got a bit played out trying to keep up with them haha.

Well, the door replacement didn't quite go as planned, took quite a bit longer than I thought trying to get it levelled and square so that it would roll up and down smoothly. But it's in and just have to connect the opener and then do the new weatherstripping. I'm thinking I'll take the old door out to the farm after I get that done, then start on Bubba's door tomorrow.
