ABC, we have 6 grands and currently 3 greats. Oldest granddaughter is talking about one more! She's the only one that's married and giving us greats so far! We shall see. Thanks for brekkie. I love a stack of cakes.

Jude, that finger has really been stubborn! Did they ever say what type of infection you have? That was quite a race! I can't wait to see porch pic updates, if you can post some.

Rava, you're on count down now! Are you getting excited to head north?

Dill, thanks for the coffee! Delicious.

Peachie, anything exciting going on around your place?

Oldest grandson works until 3p today so we will just be hanging with the 15 year old once he's up and at 'em. He loves to play cards so that and a walk is on the list of to dos.

Its a gorgeous day here. I plan to enjoy every minute AF!

      Good morning cafe!

Ginger, the bacteria that's causing the infection is called enterococcus faecalis. It is normally found in the intestines and normally doesn't cause any problems. People are often exposed to the bacteria in hospitals and other health care settings. Apparently, the bacteria entered through some sort of open wound on the finger that got infected. Cats also have this bacteria in their gut and I may have picked up the infection from that.

Peachie, sorry that Zorro is still stressing your cats. Do you know who the owner is?

      Waves to all!

      Not today...

Evening Cafe. Just looked up your infection Jude. Really hope you get on top of it. I'm sending you lots and lots of good wishes!! Xx

No, don't know who owns Zorro but I don't think it is anyone in our complex. I've asked around and I think he may live down the cul de sac I live in. I sense he's lonely but it's not fair on my girls if they are scared of him. If he was a gentle loving cat he would be most welcome but he seems aggressive towards them. I've never had this problem in all the years I've been here so maybe he is new to the neighborhood. Never mind I will just keep shutting all my doors and protecting my girls. He is persistent tho.

Ginger, I have 3 grandchildren. 18yr old , 21yr old and Ben's daughter Kirrah 11yrs old. I see very little of them nowadays even though I've tried to mend bridges. I'm afraid I was blacklisted when I was with my ex partner but I have so much hope that those bridges will be mended soon. I used to see them so much when they were little.

        Hi to everyone.
        Night.

Jude, I recently had a bladder infection and it was the same bacteria. I had to do courses of the antibiotic. I hope you knock it out for good and certain!

Cowboy, thanks for yet another day of good eats! And I checked out the song by Atkins and I really liked it too! Thanks. I had never heard of that singer before.

Peachie, I hope the cold shoulder treatment eventually dissuades Zorro. It's not fair to your cats that they are intimidated. I was thinking of you last night because I watched an old movie called Quigley Down Under with Tom Sellick. It was a great way to see the Australian landscape without having to deal with snakes and insects!

Rava, do you think Mr. R will lose weight on the new diet? (actual weight, not water weight).

          Hiya, Ginger!

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

          Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Hey good morning Cafe! Hard to believe it’s another Monday and it’s May. I am winding down with only 6 days left to travel north. I am having mixed feelings about leaving. Spent some time yesterday organizing the pantry and my closet and getting rid of stuff that I don’t need. It’s like a cleansing I do before I leave each season. I bought a large cooler to pack some food and healthy snacks while we drive. Eating fast food is not on the agenda anymore. Jude, I hope that infection is getting better each day. It sound like a nasty one and glad you caught it when you did. Ginger, you certainly do have a big family and it’s great that you get to be so involved with them. Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday and keeps it a sober one! Yesterday, I went the grocery store and came home and had a sudden thought that I didnt not even think about buying or looking at the wine section. WOOT WOOT!!!

Are you wanting to stay in Florida Rava, or is it just the drive you're having mixed feelings about? Good job not letting that wine isle get to you!

He has some pretty good other songs as well Dill, but that one is my favorite.

I could hardly read the name of that infection Jude, never mind trying to pronounce it lol. The antibiotics will get you back to normal soon enough I would think.

It's hard to beat maple syrup on either pancakes or waffles Peachie, especially real maple syrup. Don't give up on the grandkids, I'm sure they'll come around one day. Maybe you should give animal control a call about Zorro, they could maybe catch him and find the owners.

You've got a pretty good age spread between your gkids and g-gkids Ginger. You're getting to experience being a mom all over again lol.

We've got some cooler, unsettled weather headed our way for the next couple of days so I'll wait till later in the week to get the camper opened up and ready for seeding. I'm looking forward to getting back in the field once again.

Jude, that's scary. I'm so glad you think you are on top of the infection now.

Rava, I feel ya! That drive gets harder and harder as we age and hotels..... don't even get me started. Even the expensive ones seem dirty to me.

Peachie, are pets chipped there like they are here? I wonder if ABC is right about calling someone to see if he's chipped and owners could be contacted. With that said, short of locking him up, I doubt he'd stay away. Oh Zorro, I wish you'd be nice to the girls!

ABC, I'm happy for you to get back in the field too! Always look forward to the stories.

Hey Dill, anything on your agenda this week?

It's quiet on the home front. Headed toward the 90s again today. Anything resembling exercise will need to be done inside. I remember "living" outdoors in the heat when I was young. No more! It knocks the soup out of me now!

I'll join you all in another day!

                  Comment

Peachie, I'm sorry that Zorro is still being a nuisance. I think that Cowboy is right about calling animal control and see if they can find the owner. I feel bad for your kitties as I know how stressed out they can be when they are bullied by another cat. Hope that you find a solution soon.

Dill, I've heard that this bacteria can cause bladder infections and it can be very nasty. Do you remember what kind of antibiotic did you have to take? I'm on a drug called Linezolid which is pretty rough on my digestive system. I've started on a course of probiotics and I hope that helps.

Rava, so glad that you didn't even think about wine when you went grocery shopping. I'm lucky that in n.y. they don't sell wine or liquor at the grocery store. Sounds like you have a lot to do before you head North. As cowboy mentioned, are you dreading the long drive or is it just that you don't want to leave Florida?

Waves to Ginger, Cowboy and Mul!

24 more for all of us please...

Jude, the antibiotic I was on was a generic form of Macrobid100mg. It messed with my digestive tract too, but l lucky for me I was on a short course (twice). I also took probiotics. I think they helped. I hope the rest of your time passes quickly and you are rid of the bacteria!

Ginger, I haven't really got much going lately. Today I am going out to lunch with a dear friend. She wants to give me a belated birthday treat. I will enjoy spending time with her as we haven't been seeing each other as much as I would like. One reason is bc her son and his family have moved in next door to her. It's really lovely for her! They moved from Oregon to be near her. She is the friend that has been battling blood cancer the past few year. They kept their property in Oregon though and will return there when their daughter graduates High School. At least that's the plan. I hear you on the heat! I can't take it either!

Rava, that's so great that you got through the store without noticing the wine! Fantastic!

Cowboy, I'm lookiing forward to a video from the field this season too! And I wouldn't mind a picture of the rig you pilot...Hopefully with you in it if possible!

Rainy here today. Very apropo Spring weather.

                      Not today, thanks...

That's even a bit warm for me Ginger, but it's better than the below freezing we have here this morning. Mid 80's is bout all I can handle now before having to retreat indoors.

I'll be sure to take some pics and vids of the new rig dill and see if I can get one of me included in the pics.

Evening all. Yes Jude you're right about the girls being anxious. They love going out in the garden to sunbake but now are very wary. Always peering through the glass door to make sure the coast is clear! Then coming in again pretty soon. Haven't seen him today. Phew.

Yes Ginger the girls have microchips and it is law here.

Cowboy can't really say when winter settles in here. This year has been nuts. We are expecting a 28 degree (Celsius) on the weekend. Back to the beach for all and sundry. Lol. Not this little black duck tho...bit nippy for me.

Hi to Dill and Rava. Hope you all have a great day.
