Wow, Jude! You have been busy. What a big project! I hope you are careful and don't do anything to hurt yourselves, Mr. D is workiing on a corner of our barn that needs new siding. It's heavy work and I'm not much use, although I do what I can.

Ginger that's quite a price tag, but I tend to think it's worth it. Resale of the property will be difficult if the water problem isn't addrssed., so it's good you're doing it. Mostly it's good that you are taking care of your health. I'm so sorry you are going through that.

Cowboy, the "should I stay or should I go" problem as we age is something we all face. I know we will do all we can to remain in our home, but also hope we stop short of becoming a burden to our kids.

Waves to you, Rava and Peachy.

    Hope we see Mul soon!

    Not today.

    Dill

Yes Jude, I'm looking forward to getting out in the field, the only worry will be getting stuck in any of the low spots lol. It's nicer to see water that you can just seed around, the tricky part is watching for wet spots that look dry.

I did a bit of pruning on our apple tree last week dill, I don't think it has many years of life left in though as a lot of it is dead or dying.

Did you spend time on the beach or poolside with that hot weather Rava, I know I would have.

You're being pretty fair with Zorro Peachie, a bit of water won't hurt him and you're not being unkind using it.

Water quality is so important Ginger and most city folk don't give it a second thought, it's just something that comes from the tap. We use the big water jugs for drinking even though we have city water and Hank also got bottled water for drinking when he was with us. Sounds like the army is hoping that all the restrictions they put on the filter system will get people to do it on their own, but that's a very expensive undertaking.

Got through the training on the new drill okay and actually ran it for a couple of hours yesterday. The biggest changes are in the way we fill the air cart with product and the additional 2 monitors. But the electronics are much the same, just spread over 3 monitors now instead of 1. There is a fourth monitor as well but it's always been there and it just monitors the tractor.
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Good morning Cafe. Ginger, I feel your pain and so sorry that you are going thru this. I kind of agree with Dill, that it would help with resale if you get your own system. I would make payments or take a loan to get this done. My thoughts are screw the government. They are not your friend. Look at it as something like a new air conditioning system which you literally have to have. Sounds like the water treatment is something you need for your health. If you wait for the government to do it big chance is that not only will it take forever but it wont be done correctly as they will hire the cheapest company. Culligan is in the water business and understand how to fix it. Just my two cents. Damn I see a Netflix movie on this issue. So SORRY! Today we are moving in the patio furniture and starting to really get serious. It’s like 95 and humid outside so it’s extremely miserable. Hope Jude, your finger gets better soon. Cowboy, good luck with your classes on the new equipment. You got this!!! Peachie, Nice job with Zorro. I think he has you figured out and doesnt like that water bottle trick! Hope everyone has a good and sober friday. 24 more please and thank you!

Evening Cafe. Ginger thank you for your compliment yesterday. It meant a lot. In my world I have more love for animals then humans. So sorry about your water dilemma. It never stops. Money over people. I often think I would like to sit on the Boards of big companies and banks to see how they make decisions. Anyway I could write a book about the human condition but it is so entrenched now that money and power is tops.
Night everybody, not looking forward to Mother's Day. Feeling very sad tonight.

Oh, Peachie, I'm so sorry. I can't imagine what that might be like. Thinking of you. {hug}.

ABC, those bogs in the fields sound treacherous. Too bad there's not some kind of detection system that could worn you. There's enough screens. Lol

Rava, the humidity makes the heat so much harder, for me any way. Stay hydrated as you work. I forget to do that! But of course you know that already!

Jude, I feel for you with all that work your facing. Hang in there and post a pic or two. You know I love construction projects!

Hey Dill! Is your lilac one of those giant ones? I love those. Reminds me of the old farmhouse we grew up in.

Well, they come today to start the installation. They (last minute) added a UV sanitizer, which hubby says we don't need but the engineers said they couldn't install without it. It added another $2,000 to the sticker price. I'm trying to stay positive but I'm so pissed at the bureaucracy. Breath....breath....breath. It's only money and we can't take it with us.

But I can stay sober and I will!

              Good morning cafe!

Peachie, I hope that today is a better day and that you don't feel sad. Whenever I feel depressed I make a gratitude list and it always centers me. Hope that it works for you. Hugs!

Ginger, glad that you are having the water issue taken care of, but it's a shame that you have to shell out so much money. Don't even get me started on the government. Ugh!

Cowboy, enjoy your day in the fields and stay away from those low spots!

Waves to Rava, dill and Mul!

              Not today!

Evening Cafe. Just been missing Ben today very much. Lots of tears . My eldest son Michael is taking me out for coffee in the morning but my Ben won't be there. I'm sorry but its just feeling so raw at the moment.
Love to all the Mum's tomorrow.

                  Greetings Cafe!

Ginger, yes it is one of those old fashioned farmhouse lilacs. I wish I could just let it do it's own thing, but we planted it too close to our shed so I have to cut it back every now and then. I love the smell of lilac! Before the lilac blooms, the viburnum blooms and that is even sweeter! After the lilac is done we are treated with the Mock Orange. That's blooming right now. All three are heavenly!

Peachie, unfortunately we all have those valleys. I hope you feel brighter soon.

Cowboy, that machine sounds incredible! I'm sure you will do just great! Mr. D had to take out our old apple tree. I can't remember how long it has been out there, but we did plant it ourselves. He planted a new one a couple years ago, so we will have some apples, although not this year. Mother Nature conspired against us this year!

Rava, Is Mr. R's blood pressure remaining steady?

Going to the grocery was a treat yesterday! The floral department was stocked to the gills for Mother's Day! It was truly fantastic walking through those displays of gorgeous bouquets of every kind!

Thinking about maybe going to a matinee today. Haven't done that in years!!

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

How long are you thinking it'll take to tear down the old porch Jude, will most of it have to be done by hand?

I'm sure Mother's Day will bring back lots of memories for you Peachie, having your other son with you should help and you can remember those times together.

Nothing here is blooming yet dill but I also love the smell of lilacs. The leaves on the trees are just starting to show now so it'll be a while before we see any blossoms of any kind. The apple tree in our yard is about 30 years old but I don't know what variety it is or life expectancy.

If I remember correctly Ginger, isn't a UV sanitizer for bacteria in the water? I know lots of people on well water use them around here as well but I've never installed one yet. Seems like a waste of money if you don't need it. By the time they're done it sounds like they could have installed a big enough RO unit to handle the whole house.

I suppose you've got things ready for your trip tomorrow Rava? Do you have a neighbor that will be checking on things while you're up north?

I've got my groceries all bought and clothes packed ready to move out to the camper this morning. Corey ran the drill yesterday to work out a few bugs that we found on Thursday so things should be all set for me to take over. Back to being a camper bachelor till we get rained out lol.
