So great to see everyone. Going to try to stop by more and check in. Ginger feel better soon. Being sick sucks. Being sober is the best way to go.I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.
Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.
Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

Good morning cafe!
Drifty, good to see you back here and don't be a stranger! You're right in that being sober is the best way to go!
Peachie, the finger is still swollen but the pain is much better. I've been taking a boat load of antibiotics for 3 weeks with 2 more weeks to go. I have a doctors appointment next week and they will probably take another X-Ray to see if the infection is gone.
Cowboy, it sounds as though you are making good progress on the seeding. How much longer before you are finished? I'm sure that you can't wait to be back home with Bubba again.
Ginger, hope that you are feeling better. Are you still on antibiotics?
Mama kitty is doing well and is even starting to play with the huge assortment of toys scattered around my house. Looks like she might be here to stay. Foster fail!
Waves to Rava, dill and Mul!

Good morning Cafe. Jude, I am glad that Susie is adjusting well. Sounds like your home is the perfect place for her. Our TV broke yesterday so we are heading to walmart to purchase another. They do NOT make things to last anymore. Well today is a busy one so I am gonna run. Wishing everyone a sober day. No Sun here until Thursday…..😞

Hiya Cafe. Last day of sunshine here for awhile. That's ok. The farmers are hoping for a good drenching as it's been a dry May.
Great to see you Drifty.
Quiet day here but Zorro still around. Geez.
Time for dinner and soapie. Jude so glad Susie is settling in.
Night everyone .

Rava, what is going on with the weather?!! We had a 1/2 day of sun here yesterday and it gave me so much joy! But here we are again, back in the gray zone today. I am waiting and hoping for it to pass and to finally be able to enjoy some outdoor activities. I bet you are itching for some beach weather.
Jude, I don't think anyone here is surprised or disappointed at your "foster fail", including you!
. Susie sounds like a solid choice! I am hoping and praying that your finger heals with this course of treatment. Two more weeks to go is a good long time for the antibiotics to keep doing their work. Fingers crossed for you.
Drifty, so nice to see you joining with us more often.
Peachy, I have looked up the team colors and am delighted to learn they are purple and whilte. I love purple and wear it fairly often, so maybe I've been a fan all along, without knowing it! Please do keep me posted.
Ginger, hope you're feeling better. How did you spend Memorial Day? We celebrated with just the two of us as our son couldn't get a break from work. We put up our Flag on the front porch and had big red smokies grilled. We also spent a bit of time outside in the woods and in the yard pulling weeds. First nice sunshine we've had here in quite a while! Nice.
Cowboy, hope all goes well in the field today!
Not today.

Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.

Sounds like Susie has settled right into her new home Jude, who cares if it's a foster fail. That infection in your finger must be a tough one to be able to withstand the antibiotics for that long. We have about 10 days or so left to finish seeding if everything runs smooth, which it didn't yesterday lol.
We can chat about most every topic under the sun Peachie, except for politics, no talk about that is the only rule. I think all of us live where we weren't the first people to be on the land, and it seems so much has been taken away from indigenous people everywhere.
Hopefully you'll get nicer weather soon dill, we have a beautiful weather week forecast up here with temps supposed to be in the high eighties/low nineties for most of the week.
Hopefully you'll be back to normal soon Ginger, I don't imagine you're enjoying not being able to get out and be active.
You're right Rava, nothing seems to last anymore. I can't imagine how many electronic things or appliances are filling up the land fills.
It would be so nice for you to join us more often Alison, keep us informed on what's happening in your corner of the world.
I got to come home to Veg yesterday afternoon, not because of rain, but because of equipment failure. We spent about 2 hours yesterday morning getting the seeder set up for canola and serviced all 3 pieces of equipment and then got started in the new field. I only got about 60 acres done when I got a hydraulic failure warning on the tractor hydraulics. Corey ended up phoning to get a service tech out as we couldn't find the source of the problem. Ended up being a shaft on a hydraulic pump that sheared off. The only one available was at a dealership in a town 2 1/2 hour drive away so Corey jumped in his truck at 5:00 yesterday afternoon to drive down to get it while the service tech started working on getting the old one out. They will be back out early this morning to put the new one in and then Corey will call me to let me know when everything is ready to roll again. Never a dull moment it seems lol.Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...

I haven't got a chance to read back yet but hopefully, I will today. Ended up at ER again yesterday. My niece was working the ER and hooked me up with a great doc. He did all the bloodwork for heart issues instead of focusing on lungs. All was great. He's convinced I'm having broncial spasms and prescribed a short course of predniSONE. He is also prescribing an albuteral inhaler and wants me to take Zertec for a month. He has allergies and is suffering right now too. I can say for certain my breathing is better this morning. Fingers crossed!
I'll take another....

Good morning cafe!
Thanks for the video cowboy! I can't believe how much acreage you have to seed. When you look at the horizon all that you can see is a never ending view of more fields. How many acres do you seed every year?
Ginger, glad that you are feeling better on the new meds. I'm surprised that the first doc didn't prescribe steroids as it is often used in treating pneumonia. Fingers crossed that the new treatment plan works.
Yesterday the sun was shining and it was close to 80 degrees. I couldn't believe how much joy it brought me to hang out on the porch with my kitties. Dill, I'm like you in that the weather can really affect your thoughts. Anyway, I was grateful that I was able to enjoy such a beautiful day.
It looks like Susie is still pretty shy and when we let her out of her cage she still hides alot and runs when we get near her. She came to the shelter from a big colony of cats after the owner passed away. Cats that have lived in a colony are often half feral as they don't have much contact with humans. It will take some time and a lot of patience for her to lose her fear of people, so it looks like I have my work cut out for me.
Waves to all!

Evening Cafe. Loved your video AB. There certainly is still water around!
Jude, so glad you had a nice warm day to sit on your porch. I understand completely. Seems like a lot of us here are very susceptible to gloomy weather.
Been a cloudy, windy day here today. Looks like the rain and thunderstorms are due about midnight..I've looked at the weather radar so am prepared for a noisy night.
Dill, our Dockers play again on Saturday afternoon this week. 2.15pm bounce down. Get some purple clothes on! I tie my clubs scarf to my front porch on game day. I've often been known to throw it in my garbage bin over the years. Lol.
Ginger, really hope the new medications make a difference. It must be a scary thing for you to go through. So glad your heart tests were AOK. Let's hope your medic is on the right track.
Rava it's Thursday here before you so l will send you good wishes for an improvement in your weather..
Night everyone. Have a great day.

Good morning Cafe. Cowboy, thank you for the video. Wow thats a lot of property. Sorry about your mechanical troubles yesterday but I am glad it’s all fixed. Corey really had a long drive for a part!! I can see where you can’t stop progress with all that land looking at you. Ginger, so glad you went to the ER and got some different meds. The steroids if anything will make you feel better mentally too. Might keep you up at night but hopefully they will knock this mess out of you! Jude, maybe you could sent a picture of Susie so we can all see our mascot. We are all routing for her. I also hope that finger is improving. Dill I hope your weather is improving. We had about 2 hours of sun last evening and now I wake up to rain again. YUCK. Luckily I have mahjong today if anyone shows up and that will kill a crappy afternoon. Hi to everyone today. 24 more hours please and thank you. Sunshine and sobriety should be two of my favorite things!

Cowboy, thanks for that video I wish I could see those canola fields when they are in bloom. What a sight that must be! Do they have a scent when they bloom?
Peachie, I will wear purple on Saturday! I am looking for ways to stream the game here, but I don't know if I will find any that don't involve a fee. I draw the line there, being a pensioner! LOL
Jude, more rain here today so I guess it will make its way to your neck of the woods. But my weather man says today is the LAST of it and there is a stretch of sunshine coming starting tomorrow. Yay!
Ginger, You have really been through the wringer with that cough!!! I'm sure glad you are finding some relief, finally.
Rava, are there options in your area for recycling electronics? Last time we tried we found the local Best Buy would take them, but that was a few years back. We have a County recyling site. I'm not sure what all they take. But, maybe you have some place like that. It is so disheartening that things don't last anymore, and the cost of repair is often as much as a new device!!!
As you all may remember, I've been working on getting Lily to accept Pumpkin and stop automatically chasing him. I just want to report that here we are on year 3 and very good progress has been made. I think this may be the summer where Pumpkin will finally be able to walk from the barn to the deck at his liesure!!
Not today...

I'm sure Susie will fit right in and be a part of the family Jude, sounds like she just needs a bit more time. Glad you were able to enjoy some porch time, I know you love sitting out there. We farm 7500 acres which sounds like a lot but it's maybe only just above average for most farmers around here.
Sure hope the new meds help to get you better Ginger, nothing worse than feeling down for such a length of time.
With the late spring we had Rava and all the rain we've been getting, we can't afford to be down for too long so Corey will do what has to be done to get seeding finished as soon as we can, even if it means long drives for parts. Enjoy your mahjong today.
I'll take some pics when the canola is in bloom dill, in certain areas all the land looks like a sea of yellow. It does have a scent when it's in bloom, hard to describe, I'd call it more of an odor lol. Sounds like Pumpkin and Lily have found a bit of peace between them haha.
Hopefully you won't get too much of a storm Peachie and you'll be able to get a decent night's sleep.
We managed to get 3 field done yesterday even with the late start, mind you they weren't large fields. Our target is to get at least 300 - 350 acres done a day and I think we managed 270 yesterday. We'll see how today goes.Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
