Evening Cafe. Well the storm has headed East so we've had a lot calmer day. I think there were close to 10,000 people without power for a long while. There was also many pictures of the damage. Some person ended up with a garden shed in their pool!

Dill, the Dockers play next on Saturday afternoon. Will keep you all posted.

How's the spring weather coming on guys? AB I guess your rain says it all for you!

Not much else to report today so will go get some supper

    Night all.

Good morning Cafe. Happy Monday. Ginger, sorry you are still coughing. UGH. Hopefully this week will show more improvements. We are currently trying to figure out which smoke alarm is chirping. It’s crazy. Hard to tell where it is coming from. Cowboy, I don’t think any of us will complain about breakfast being late. We will eat anytime and thankful for it. Ginger, crabbing season is now but when the weather gets warmer, the crabs come out more. I hope everyone has a great day. 24 more please and thank you.

5:15am in Alberta, another 24 please, and thanks...

In the last 24 hours, these friends have signed in for 24 hours of wellness:

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!

I'll bet the house looks quite different with the old porch gone Jude, hopefully you'll be into the new one by summer's end.

I hate when a smoke alarm chirps like that Rava. We had the same thing happen to us and it took a while to find it.

Thankfully our storm was nowhere near as bad Peachie, but we are hearing reports of flooded basements from all the rain.

You've had that couch for quite some time Ginger, nothing you're taking is helping any?

Waves to dill and the rest of our visitors...

We're now at 4" of rain and still today and tomorrow with rain in the forecast, although it isn't supposed to be quite as heavy. I imagine some of the low spots that I managed to seed through are filled with water now, such a waste of seed and fertilizer.

          Not today...

Oh, Cowboy! That's crazy! I wish I could push that rain away from you all!! We've had too much rain too, but not as bad as that! I see many low-lying areas in the local fields that are still under water and the crops are not coming up. Mostly corn fields, but some soy beans as well. So far the winter wheat crops are looking good. Our hay is down and hopefully will be raked today. The weather has been perfect here for hay.

Ginger, do you think that Cpap machine could be causing your issues? And on the coyote topic: our hay is down now so we will actually have a better chance of seeing any coyotes that are lurking.

Peachie, that sounds like a terrible storm! I'm glad it's moved off.

Rava, it's been such a strange spring. It seems like the soil and pond are taking a long time to warm up. I guess the same is true for the crabbing. Mr. D's melon patch is really struggling because the soil is just not warm enough.

Jude, is the addition the same size as the porch or will there be a new foundation dug?

Volunteer board meeting today. I'm still stuck on the board for another year. This will be my last year for the board. I don't know how much longer I'll continue to do the volunteer work after that.

Another day of freedom for all of us here, please and thanks!
            Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Dill, I'm beginning to suspect the cpap may have something to do with this lingering cough. I'm only able to keep it on the first hour or so, then off it goes because I can't breath through my nose. Calling the sleep doc today. Always something!

Peachie, I wonder if Zorro spends much time indoors? He sure sounds well cared for. Wish he wasn't a little turd to the girls.

ABC, that's such a bummer about the areas under water. Is this typical or just an especially wet spring?

Rava, I hope the crabbing picks up soon. Which mahjong app did you mention trying? I downloaded one but I'm not sure what I'm doing! Lol

Jude, thanks for the Susie update!

Going to exercise today! I'll take another day.

                Good morning all!

Peachie, that sounds like a doozy of a storm and I'm glad that there wasn't any damage to your place. Did you lose power as well?

Rava, you're lucky that you can go crabbing as it's something that I would love to try. I'm sure that they make a nice tasty dinner!

Cowboy, that's a shame that the rain caused much of the seed to be wasted and I hope that it stops soon. I feel bad for the farmers in that they have no control over the weather and often lose entire fields of crops due to unfavorable weather conditions. I guess that's just one of the realities of farming.

Dill, the new porch will be much bigger than the old one but I'm sure that it won't take long for me to fill it up with stuff. Is the volunteer job causing you too much stress? If volunteering there makes you unhappy then I guess that it's time to move on.

Ginger, have you always used a cpap, or is it something that you just started to use to help with the pneumonia? Mr. J tried using a clap but it only lasted a week before he said screw this!

24 more for all of us please...

                    Evening Cafe.
Jude yes the storm was a doozy! I didn't lose power but lots of suburbs around me did. Some are still out.

Ginger, sorry you're still in a bit of a pickle. Goodness it's frustrating isn't it! I really hope you get it sorted soon. Thinking of you. As is Patches and Rosie. Maybe Zorro too! Xx

AB it must be hard watching fields flooding with rain after you've seeded them. I believe fertilizer has gone up in price too.

Rava, a chirping smoke alarm is torture. Hope you find which one is the culprit.

Cool and cloudy day today but sunshine is forecast for tomorrow.

Dill, you've done a marvelous job volunteering and on the board. Maybe time for a reset.

                    Night everyone.

To be honest Ginger, I've never seen it rain like this ever before. I can remember getting 3" but never this much! From the looks of the rain gauge we'll probably get close to 5" by the time it quits today.

Fertilizer is very expensive this year Peachie, as well as canola seed. Such a shame to see it wasted. Glad you escaped any damage from the storm.

I'm thinking you've given a lot of your time to the hospital dill with being on the board and the volunteer job. I think you'll know when it's time for you to pack it in.

Waves to Jude and Rava, and to the rest of the gang.

One more day of rain and then only some light showers forecast for tomorrow thankfully. We're definitely going to need a lot of sun to dry things up enough to get back in the fields.

Ginger, I wouldn't be surprised if the cpap is somehow involved in triggering your symptoms. Mr. D relies on his cpap. He probably would have been dead by now without it as often as he used to stop breathing in the night due to apnea. So it's vital to him. He has a routine of sanitizing it which he does fairly often. In any event, I hope you get to the bottom of what's triggering your symptoms!

Jude, you know there's stressful situations even in activities that we enjoy. There are many aspects of the volunteering that I still love! But the prickly parts that go along with it are just startiing to bother me more than they used to. Does that make sense? I'm not going to make any sudden changes though. I'll wait and see if it's just a phase or something more...

Rava, I remember when my Mom and Dad moved to Ft. Myers (as snowbirds) back in the '90's. My dad loved crabbing and my kids loved crabbing with him. Wonderful memories.

Peachie, I've got my puple shirt picked out and ready to go for the next game!!

Cowboy, hope you are able to get back in the cab today!

Nothing going today, and as you all know, I am pleased!

I've been using my CPAP for a few years now but I've snored terribly for years. My study scores were awful. Sp02 dips to 70s and episodes of apnea per hour were sky high. If you've never tried sleeping with something stuck to your face, you dont know what you're missing. lol Sleep clinic won't see me without a new referral. There's no wonder our health care is expensive! I have to see my GP to see a sleep doc, eventhough they prescribed the machine four years ago? Jeez

Jude, what does Mr J do? Does he sleep ok?

ABC, that's crazy rain! I hope things start to dry out soon.

Peaches, thanks for the thoughts. Tell the puddies thanks too.

Dill, I hope you can get back to just doing the part of your volunteer job that you enjoy most. That's the great part about retirement!

Off to help granddaughter with projects for vacation bible school. This is her second year of managing it. It's a ton of work but she enjoys it.

                              I'll take another!
