Evening Cafe. I bet I cross post with someone! Rava, what was the trigger,? If I look back on my heavy drinking there was always a trigger. Many, in fact, but usually one or two I could identify. I know your disappointment and I so feel for you.

Had a lovely coffee and cake morning with my eldest, Michael this morning. Also a nice walk on the beach. He and his family are doing so well in life and it really warms my heart. He has told me thank you for the way his Dad and I gave him a wonderful loving and stable upbringing. That means so much.

Maybe you don't need the big gardens anymore Jude, and I'm sure you don't need all the work that goes with them. I remember 8:00am beer, nothing that I'm proud of for sure.

Too bad your son didn't get a chance for a visit dill, but nice the two girls got to spend some time together and I'm sure you and your nephew had a good visit.

How is the cough now Ginger, are you back to normal yet?

Corey called late yesterday afternoon and we're headed back into the field this morning. I'll head over after I've had breakfast with Bubba and get rolling again. If the rain stays away we should finish up later in the week.

Dill, I hope if your nephew can tolerate a CPAP, it works well for him. Ive used mine since 2022. I'm hoping to see the sleep specialist this summer. I'm going through the referral process now. I had to start over because it's been more than 3 yrs since I've been seen here in WA.

Jude, good you had a nice day at the farmer's market. I've been avoiding baking and buying baked goods because I don't need the calories either. I bought some cookies for our company on Friday and was sorry they didn't get eaten up or taken home. I think all of us, (not counting the kids) are in the same boat as you jude...don't need the extra calories! Back to more discipline starting Monday.

Rava, sorry you let yourself down. I know the feeling. Cowboy is right though, eventually it will stick!

Cowboy, thanks for that awesome breakfast! I' bet you're glad to be back in the field though. It will feel good when you have it all done!

Ginger, I sympathize with you having to wear that Cpap, I know from watching Mr. D go through it just what a pain it is. But it is literally a life-saver and we both keep that in mind. It is small comfort, but it is something.

It's feeling like rain here today. Mr. D got the yard mowed yesterday so now we can look out the window and watch it grow again.

I picked up some cubed steaks over the weekend and am going to look for a recipe this morning. That's my big excitement for today!

I think we can all agree, it's definitely a good day not to drink.

Evening Cafe. Major update on Zorro aka Cheeky. Idid it. I let him in. I patted him and he was so affectionate. He has been sitting outside all day staring in. His name is Cheeky. I couldn't have picked a better name!! Lol. He has a collar with his name tag. He talked to me and had a good head rub. Dear me, what have I done! Both my cats were in bed so they had no idea. Phew.

Sorry just a bit distracted tonight but he was so affectionate it blew me away.

Waves to the whole gang!

There was no seeding yesterday as Corey called and said they got another 8/10's of rain overnight so I just stayed in Vegreville. From the sounds of it seeding with the air drill is over and I'm going to be learning to operate a new machine once it dries up if it ever does lol. Corey is getting the rest of the seed and fertilizer "floated" on. Basically that means a machine that broadcasts the seed and fertilizer on top of the ground and then we work it under with a high speed disc more commonly known as a pro till. It's quite a bit smaller and lighter than the air drill so we should be able to work the fields that way. I've never used one so it'll be new to me. Now to just wait for the call...

Good morning Cafe. I am waking up much happier mentally. No booze yesterday. Bottle emptied and taken to the public dumpster. I drank a lot of water yesterday trying to hydrate and get my body back. Peachie, I am so glad your son opened up to your about what a good mother and father he had. Such a wonderful thing to hear. Two of my children have said that to me but my third one has different memories and mostly negative. They were all raised the same but you just never know what one thinks. If I had to do it all over again I would have definitely eliminated alcohol from the equation. Cowboy, good luck with your new machine. Sounds technical! Today Mr. R and I are going to check into a new mattress. I have one that is 3 years old and we paid good money for it but I hate it and decided as much time as we spend in bed it’s time to wake up with less back pain. Or is old age? Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful and sober day today. No booze for me.
