Waves to the whole gang!

Ginger got ahold of me on FB Messenger yesterday mentioning that her MWO donation didn't come out of her PayPal account and wondered if I knew anything about it. When I logged in this morning I see a message from the Forum Manager that the site is shutting down at the end of the month. It's really too bad as MWO has been such an important factor in my continuing sobriety.

For those of you who want to carry on with the friendships you've made here, please come and join the site I created.

Hopefully that link will work. There are some members there from the WQD site that shut down a while back, so there'll be some new faces and friendships for everyone! I hope all of you will consider moving over so that we can continue staying friends!

This site shutting down is truly an end of an era for me. I remember finding the site in 2014 and thinking it might help. By then I'd had so many stop and starts, I thought it would never end. But it did and I thank all of you for helping me get where I am today. I hope all of you join us over at ABC other site. I'd hate to Iose touch with any of you!

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry to hear MWO is shutting down, but I can believe it. It's just a handful of us left posting now. The place was magic when I found it in 2009. I think I was much farther gone than I even admitted to myself at the time. The thought of going just 24 hours was absolutely frightening to me. I learned so much here from members past, and present as well. I owe a debt of gratitude to Roberta Jewel and to many members of this forum.

I joined Cowboy's crew over at We Quit Drinking and post there regularly. (Thank you, Cowboy!) I encourage everyone here to sign up so we can continue to support each other. Maybe Jod will join us over there, too!

Jude, Ginger asked what I was thinking to ask. Will the bone regrow and will your finger return to a more normal shape with time? It's good that it is you middle finger and not you index finger.

Rava, glad you're feeling back to normal. It will be exciting to get your new couch on Friday!

Peachie, I'm not going to the Lavender farm this Sunday, but I'll be thinking purple!

Ginger, I think it's funny that Mr. G enjoys the earplugs at night! That would make me crazy!! One of the things I am grateful for is that I can still hear, especially the night sounds!

I have an volunteer in-service today at lunch time. Pizza will be served, so that will help motivate me!

Good morning all!

That's so sad that MWO is shutting down, but hopefully we can continue our friendship on Cowboys site. I can't believe that our forum has lasted this long as members have become pretty scarce lately.

Ginger and Dill, no, the bone in that finger will not regrow and the only way that it will go back to its original shape would be to have surgery again. Not happening!

It looks like the contractors will here Monday morning and they think that it will take about 2 weeks to finish it. Sounds like it's going to be pretty noisy around here for awhile but it will be worth it in the end.

I don't blame you for not wanting any more surgeries Jude, I'm sure you'll find uses for that flat tipped finger lol. Sounds like they will have quite a crew there on Monday if they figure they can be done in 2 weeks! Will they be doing all of it or are there other sub-contractors involved?

Hope was the in-service dill? I'm sure the pizza was good!

Glad to see you on the other site Ginger, hopefully the Cafe there will get just as lively as it is here.

Up early this morning as I have to be in Mannville early to pick up some material from a wholesaler, then out to the farm to check on things, then one small job to do. Hopefully I'll be back in Veg early enough to get the grass cut before the next round of rain hits us.

No Cowboy, the in-service was not about hope, altho that would be a good topic with the state of the world right about now!! LOL The in-service was just about making sure we were up to date in our understanding of all the policies and procedures we need to understand in order for our agency to keep their various licenses and accreditations. Have to keep all the various insurers happy, etc... The hospital has been down-sizing and moving various services to other sites, so we are a much diminished service provider now. We will remain in that building for just a few short years before they finally turn out the lights. It's kind of like what we have been going through here on MWO.

Ginger, I saw you posted on WQD yesterday. You were a welcomed sight!

Peachie, Rava and Jude, hope to see you at the Cafe WQD soon.

I hope Quit whining and Techie pop in here before the site closes so they can link up with us, should they so desire, over at WQD.

Jude, thanks for explaining the finger situation. I sure understand your reluctance to have any more surgeries! It's been a long haul for you and Gumby It's so exciting that your remodel is starting next week! I can't wait to see pictures!

Rava, that message may have something to do with their security configuration; just dont enter any financial data and you should be fine.

Dill, you kind of knew this was coming with the hospital, right? What's the population in your area? We have well over 200,000 people in our area and we lost one of our two hospitals. The remaining hospital is always swamped. It's a mess.

ABC, dont work too hard. Remember, you're retired.
