Re: One Step at a Time - July 2017

    Hey folks
A very belated Happy 4th to you all! Well done all of you for getting through it sober – it sounds like quite a wild ride. Pauly, I had to laugh about your neighbour looking for her cigarettes in the letterbox. Everyone being so drunk around the fireworks sound like a disaster waiting to happen, though.

Liz I hope your anxiety has settled down– you have had an awful lot on your plate, both good and bad. Enjoy the graduation - they are wonderful occasions.

Nora – so you may be joining us in the Granny club one of these days? Gosh – we’re all showing our age. Actually I looked at your post very quickly and thought it was Liz saying CJ had been trying! I nearly fell off my chair.

I’ve sort of been having my day off –but not quite. But I’m on study leave for the next fortnight! YAY me! SO much work to do though.

I was supposed to babysit again tonight but the grandangel is sick again, so it may not happen.

    Gotta run! nthego:

Poor baby is sick. She needs lots of hugs
And I need to pick something else to call C&J. That is too close to CJ. When I glanced at my post, I thought I had written CJ. :rotlf:

Don't forget to give yourself little study breaks. (Cause we miss you!!)

Re: One Step at a Time - July 2017

        Good Morning, Friends!

It's the last day of my leisurely and wonderful staycation. I did NOT get done with all the chores I had planned because I thought...this is my vacation and I am going to rest. I did not work AT ALL this week. :yay: I had a dinner party last night...it felt SO good to entertain. I made salmon and asparagus with Italian seasons wrapped in foil. Delicious! Chocolate raspberry trifle for dessert. :-)

Liz-have fun at the graduation. So glad CJ's wedding plans are moving along.
Yes it is quiet here sometimes. I always feel like when I'm posting not much goes on here and when I'm not posting as much you guys are all here chatting away. Hmmm, is it me? Lol.
I think the time difference contributes to feeling like it's slow around here. You are 3 hours ahead of Nora and Glassie....Glassie is always a day ahead of us. LOL

Pauly-good for you for lifting weights...I find lifting weights SO boring but I am always glad when I do it.

Nora-fingers crossed for C & J! I loved your story about your mom asking the little girl for a hug. Awww...I love holding newborns....they smell like Johnson's baby oil.

Mr.V-you may need rain in Ohio, but we are drowning here in Wisconsin. We do not...I repeat...do NOT need any more rain!

        Techie dear-how are you feeling?

Big hellos to Empy, Mr. G, and all lurkers, happy POETS Day! :-)

Pauly congratulations on the baby, how exciting! One of the girls at work told me her daughter is pregnant too. Her daughter is 38 and has been wanting this for a very long time and now finally. This kind of stuff really makes my day:love:

Quick check in for me as we just arrived in Virginia. It took us 5 hours to get here with traffic and some rain. The ride really was fun. We have to be at the base tomorrow at 7 am for graduation:eek-new: apparently marines get up early!!! Just want to say good night!

Re: One Step at a Time - July 2017

Happy Saturday. Sorry you had to work today, Pauly. Liz - I hope that today was a good day for you. Hard day for Mom mentally today. Been up since about 5:30. Asking for her Mom. Asking where the kids are and is the baby asleep. I totally lied about her parents and said they were in West Virginia and had been gone for a couple weeks. She kept bringing it up that they hadn't told her goodbye. She is confused and think that more people live here. She must be remembering everyone being over on the 4th of July. She is antsy. Plus, poor thing has a couple of bites on her arms and has been scratching herself raw. I just gave her a benadryl and am hoping that will help. I just had a flash of the benadryl making someone hyper and I hope it wasn't mom.

I hope that everyone has a very HAPPY SATURDAY!!!! I've actually started reading the new Dean Koontz book. But, I'm not ruling out going back to my other books. :tongue-new:

Paula, never to late to make that blanket for Louie! I think that is just the sweetest! You are the best grandma. What does he call you, btw?
Quick hello to you all. We are getting ready to head home and I will post later tonight. We had an amazing day yesterday! Left the hotel at 6:30 am and didn't return until 11 PM.
Wishing us all a sober safe Sunday. See you in Jersey!

Liz-so glad you had a fun weekend!

Pauly-how sweet that Louie wants a blanket, too!! I couldn't crochet my way out of a paper bag. I forgot to ask you how old Louie is now? Is he 5 or 6?? Since you gave me a fun kids' game idea in "Don't Break Buster's Bones"...I have one for you...it's called The Fishing Game. My brother LOVES to fish, and when his first grandchild turned 3 in May, I bought her this game. I thought it would be fun for my brother and his granddaughter to play it together. She really liked it, but the one who had the MOST fun was my 90-year-old mother. LOL. It's meant for ages 3+.

Nora:hug:So sorry your mom was really confused....I know how heartbreaking that is for you. I am glad you could retreat into your books.

Sk-so sorry you are in so much pain...is it your back?? I would be lost without my computer so I hope you get it fixed soon.

Big hellos to everyone else. Off for a walk on the lake path! Happy Sunday, everyone!
