Hi all.....I played hookey today! :yay: I'm ok but just woke up and couldn't do it today. And I feel so much better now. I'm so glad that I did this. And that I did it without the guilt. Tomorrow will probably be a horrible day but I'm not going to worry about it until tomorrow. My girlfriend will probably text me later and let me know what was said about me anyway.
Crusader - I wanted to give you an update. I am definitely feeling some benefit from the CBD oil. I still have pain but I'm able to function better. Not sure how to describe it but I have more energy and am able to push thru the pain better. I am organizing and taking care of things that I have been putting it off because of no energy. I am hoping that I will continue to improve. I am definitely going to do something about my diet though. I think that will help with a lot of my issues. I just wanted to give you the latest update. I have gone ahead & bought another bottle of the tincture so I can continue with it. It's pricey but if I feel better, it's worth it.

Happy hump day! Mark will find out within the next two weeks . He is hoping of course it will be abroad, sigh. . . It wouldn't be normal for him to live with us forever, I know, but it's still hard. I worry that Erin would move away too. Not going to worry about that today. Nora, glad you took the day today! I hope you were able to enjoy it and rest up. How many days off a year do you get? Do people talk when you call in? This job the girls don't call in unless they are next to dead! At the hospital the girls would call in just because! Big difference.
paulywogg hope you're having a better day! How are the grandsons? Is Louie adjusting to his little brother ok?
Rusty, good for you, new client. Not so good the long commute. Are you off Friday? Seems like very few people are off for Good Friday these days.
bird, what do you do with the endless gifts your cat brings you. It must really love you a whole lot!

I had to laugh about the beets, I forgot that before hubby and I got married, we were invited to his aunts house. She had just immigrated here from Poland and prepared a traditional Polish feast starting with borscht (beet soup). I couldn't say no thank you as that would've been considered rude. The things I didn't do to get that ring on my finger:congratulatory:

Hope you all have a great AF night!

LOL LOL LOL... Lizann...the beet soup!! That story made me laugh SO hard. What other things did you do or not do to get that ring on your finger? Hahahah. Do tell...inquiring minds want to know.:happy2: My family loves beets exactly the way Crusader makes them. I prefer pickled beets on a salad. Yes, I am off today and tomorrow. YIPPEEE!! I do have a bit of paperwork to do but I have to return something at the mall and then my IT guy is stopping by to replace the DVD player on my laptop. I will also put my mom's china in the cabinet. :-)

Re: One Step at a Time - March 2018

Morning One Steppers...day 42.

Rusty, we have the pickled beets, too. I thought I hated beets when I was younger until I had them in the foil the way we mentioned. I'm not a big fan of the pickled ones in a salad, but with my new fermenting kit coming, I may start eating more of that type of food. Time to change some more bad habits. No more ranch dressing on my salads, so my taste buds will start to change. For a few years we were growing beets and doing well, but last year the earwigs kept eating the greens. I don't know what has occurred in these parts, but earwigs have gone crazy in numbers. I put out beer or soy and oil traps and catch a lot, but the neighbors don't, so it's fighting an uphill battle. I have some thoughts this year, but the garden will be smaller.

NoraC, thank you for the update. I'm glad it is helping you. We have a place about fifteen minutes from here I can take a look at all the options they have available.
I'll wait until I get this current issue resolved before changing anything else. How is it working for your husband? I'm trying to grow some Chamomile and Catnip herbs this year. With foods, you have to find what your culprits are. Simplify your diet and cut out the most common foods that bother people. I, also, find that red meat sets me off, but my body craves it when I eliminate it altogether. I think the iron and B12 are probably responsible for that. If you are under a lot of stress, that can be a big factor, too.

Have a good day, all.

Hi Folks
*waves at Crusader*

I have a glorious four days off work, and hoped to achieve great things!
(But I woke up really tired and with an awful headache, so that might be a bit ambitious).

Do you get public holidays for Easter? We have both Friday and Monday but I heard maybe they're not so generous 'round your way?

Rusty if you don't like rats you should check out 'rats with teddy bears'. They are adorable pictures that will absolutely change your mind about them. They are actually incredibly clean, clever, sweet little creatures.

I started buying some winter clothes for HRH yesterday. OMG - they are so cute! I don't know which of these you're familiar with, but within a five minute walk from my office I can access the most gorgeous kid's clothes from Baby Zara, Seed Heritage and H & M, not to mention the usual suspects like Myer, David Jones and Target. It's a bit dangerous to my wallet to tell the truth, but all this work I'm doing has to have some reward!

Nora - I 'm glad you took the day off. You obviously needed it. How long until you become a grandma?

Liz and Pauly - hugs, and give those grandbabes a hug from me.

Glassie - believe me I felt a LOT of guilt over the killing. But, the ones in my house didn't look like that.

@glasshalfempty, how sweet those pictures are! My office is closed for Good Friday and my daughter is off from school too. My son does not have the day off and hubby will work half day. Monday is business as usual. I know H & M and target, the other stores not so much. Shopping for the little ones is such fun even though they aren't in those clothes very long. Enjoy your days off and I hope your headache eases up!

Rusty, glad you have some time off too. Is it warming up by you yet? Still chilly and damp here, but not snowing so I'm not complaining! hubby jokes all the time about how sweet I was when we were dating! Once I got that ring the "real" me came out . I have asked him if something were to happen to me would he marry again, after a long pause he said "nah, I'm good!".

No baby tomorrow as his mother is home. I get to sleep in a bit and Lucy gets a much needed break. We have gates up everywhere now and Logan likes to be by us. I was making lunch and he was playing on the kitchen floor, Lucy was begging for cheese. Geez a split second I drop a piece of cheese on the floor, Lucy grabs it and Logan grabs Lucy's hair on her back and pulls her! It was really pretty funny cuz he pulled her to him and she's eating cheese. I was afraid she would try to get away from him, but she just wanted to eat. Never a dull moment,
Well I hope everyone's doing ok, I'm off to read a bit before bed.

Glassie - so glad that you have 4 days off. How's your headache now? I am getting excited to start shopping for the baby. They think it's going to be about mid July. They expect to get a better idea at the next doctor appointment.

Rusty - we had a pet rat and hamsters many, many years ago. Did you get your dishes put in your cabinet?

Pauly - do you have big plans for tomorrow. I guess you have to get ready for Easter. I can't wait to have a little one to hide the eggs for again.

Liz - are you off this weekend? You must be busy getting ready for your dinner. Let us know when your son hears anything.

Crusader - thanks for the info. I think you're wise to wait to change anything else until you get your current issue resolved. I am going to have to make a serious commitment and make changes instead of just talking about it. Sigh......time to pull on my big girl panties. :harhar:
bird - how are you? Did you say you were seeing the girls on Easter?
