I've heard of this "oil pulling", but I have to admit, I have no idea what it is. How does one do it and what are the benefits?
Bebe, I do put it in my green tea in the morning, but I also eat it plain. I guess I've just gotten used to it and do whatever (I've still never cooked with it, but will be trying the sweet potato idea brought up by Determinator.) Maybe it's an acquired taste? My two boys aren't fond of it, but my daughter who is 3, loves it. I'm not kidding you, she begs me for spoonfuls. I only allow her one a day, but she'd have much more if I allowed it!
This would seem to require a great deal of patience, and lack of patience is one of my downfalls at times (mostly all the time
). But, I will give it a try and I'll report back if I see positive results! I've always swished it around my mouth and around my teeth and gums. I figured the antibacterial properties probably help prevent gum disease. And you know what? I believe it does work, I've noticed my need for flossing has decreased. I hope that doesn't sound too gross, but I used to need to floss everyday due to plaque, and now I can skip many days with no problemo! I just don't develop as much plaque as I used to.
