It's cold here too Vlad - Pittsburgh - USA! And I've actually hit a deer once - this is their time to mate. I sometimes I wish I could tell my husband one time a year! Please don't take that the wrong way.

Evielou and Lila - I do believe in "messages." Just yesterday I was in a department store and I was trying on coats. I didn't find anything, but when I went to put my old coat back on, it was gone!!! I couldn't find it in the store, looking all around. I left the employee my name and number just in case it showed up somewhere. I left thinking - that's a message from God. He wants me to buy a new coat!

And Lila, in answer to your question about social anxiety and being an introvert/extrovert - I'm actually more of an extrovert in some situations and some an introvert. I'm a teacher, and I see 125 kids a day (spread out of course), and in my profession (I'm a reading specialist) I, at different times, have had to do presentations for parents, staff, other teachers, sometimes 250 at one time. I'm nervous at first, but then once I get going I'm ok. Then on the other hand, I might be with a handful of people, and feel the worst kind of anxiety. It depends on how I'm feeling and it's definitely due to some things in my past. Hope that explains it. I still don't understand it. It's a very strange thing.

Has anyone heard from BH lately? I'm getting a bit worried about her!

No, I've not - was going to say she was away, but she'd come back and started the Mod Squad thread last Monday.

According to MWO though, she was last on Yesterday 04:52 AM.

              Hi all
Dont panic I am still alive but thanks for caring. I should have posted sooner but I have been so busy these last couple of weeks. I was away the last 5 days just got back yesterday as it is holiday time here - labour weekend is the first summer long weekend and the whole country usually packs up and goes camping. We have a little cottage up north and friends and family also have holiday cottages nearby so there is always a big gansey load of us and a ton of kids. There were many drinking occasions over the past weekend and although I had a few drinks in the evenings I think I coped just fine. I am glad about that because that was a big test for me for the coming summer especially when I am the host a lot of the time. I want to be social but I dont want to be drinking very much - it is amazing though how so much revolves around drinking. Hope you are all well and staying on track.

Hello Modders. A chilly and wet day here in UK as Vlad will tell you. Times like this when I wish I lived somewhere nice and bright and warm!
Hope that you are all having or have had a super day!
Good going BH, that is very impressive!

                    hi all
                    Hi BH! We were wondering...
J-vo, yes, I do have fun 'paying attention.' Once before I got divorced, and we were living apart, THREE different people said to me 'You know, you need to get a lawyer.' I really felt like, you know, I felt like it was a divine thing. Lots of stuff like that in my life. Coincidences.
How are you, Deebs and Vlad? No snow here, it is a nice sunny 'brisk' day.
I think it is time to take my kudzu. Baby steps...

                        Mod Squad Weekly Thread 27/10/08

                        Hi all,
I just had a nice conversation with my youngest brother. He just returned from a 3 week rafting trip through the Grand Canyon. Trip and thrill of a lifetime. It was so much fun to hear his excitement.

They are predicting snow in the near-by hills here for tonight. Blustery is the word - I have no desire to go out, but it is another singing night. I guess that would make me the musical monkey with the microphone. The dog will not want her walk. She only weighs 15 #, and is 15 years old this week, on Halloween. She has a hypothyroid condition which has made much of her fur fall out, so she looks pitiful. But we love her dearly, and she still has good energy.

Deer don't get any sympathy from me, though I agree they are graceful-looking creatures. They do terrible destruction to my shrubs in the winter, and some flowers in the summer. I've seen as many as 10 in my backyard on a 1/3 acre lot, and there are often 20 or more in the field at the end of my street. Some people call them rodents with hooves, and I tend to agree. We have hit four with our cars over the past 25 years, and it does a huge amount of damage.

                        until soon, take care all

                          Hi all
Lila - are you taking the L-glut? I took it every afternoon over the long weekend before wine o'clock - I am not sure if it actually works but its like my magic pill - as soon as I take it I feel right that is that sorted and maybe its just a mental thing but I am sure it helps.
Hi Gyco - did you hear back about your MRI?
I cant believe y'all have snow coming - we have summer coming!

O.k. I feel much better now-I lost all of you on the last thread. I was the last one to post and no one came back. Gave me a chance to get off the "its your fault" train I was riding. Why am I always so hard on myself? Glad everyone is doing well. I got thru the weekend with Sat. night wine (or three) but was in control- not having do drive and a big dinner too to balance it all out. Working on the week AF . Blessings to all!

wine o'clock!!! I was going to get some l-glut, but then forgot. It must work because everyone talks about it. I will get some. Is this a thing you can get cheap, or does quality matter, like with Kudzu?

                                Quick hi to the squadron!

Have just a few moments to check in with my favorite cyber-sober-moddies. Had a "Fall Gathering" for the women of our church last night, held at someone's home so there was plenty of wine. The husband of the hostess, knowing me, offered to pour my first glass. I winked and said "it's a school night!" and opted for a Peligrini instead. Need to keep my weeknights AF. Don't want a repeat of last Thursday. Hope everyone is in good spirits. Glad you found us St. John! Repeat after me: "I am NOT a thread killer!"

Vlad, you, Sun and I are all altos. If we're going to harmonize, we need some sopranos - and a bass or tenor would be nice. We'll have to work on that. See you all tomorrow. Bedtime for Vera.
