DET being a long time sailor some days when tired and working a boat in a heavy breez and sea I just zoned into the groove and hours become minutes minutes become hours the comment "shooting to be a meditative and Zen-like 'moving meditation'" is so true sad how alcohol along with killing every thing else kills this feeling too!!!!

Im a very keen martial artist, have been for almost 35 years now ........ I specialise in the discipline of the chinese sword ..... you have to get into a place which allows the sword to become a part of yourself ........ not tense ......... just natural fluidity ......... difficult but well worth persevering ............

Hi IAD, I think that hapkido is one of the greatest ever martial arts, precision, timing, disipline, it has it all, sounds like he's done really well at 20 to be hitting black belts .......... Im a 5th dan in karate and got black belts in ju-jitsu and judo ........ then trained in Thailand for 6 years and went down the thai boxing road ...........

IAD that's awesome. I do Brazillian as well....think I'll haul my bloated ass to the mat tomorrow morning for the first time in a couple months (managed to dork my elbow and shoulder....owie).
