Still dark and cold here; so woodburner's on - lovely. Trying to get some nice accommodation in Auckland but it's hard when I'd rather be in Wellington or somewhere having a holiday!
            Hello Blondie,
Not for ages yet....have to do my induction training but meantime I go to the weekly training at the Wingello Brigade. There is a lot to learn. Last night it was going through some Sstandard Operating Procedures) and next week will be maintenance. Meanwhile this Sat I've arranged with Col to take me round the block on the truck if it's not raining,(then I'd have to wash it down) then Mr Rags and I are going to do a few hours orientation / navigation through the state forest in the new ute (minus canopy) and look for dams, how to get to them, farm gates etc etc to start familiarising ourselves withthe area.

It's not too warm here either. Glad I don't actually live at Wingello. It's about 4 degrees warmer here.

Went to Arabloodyrat to see the Onc but I'm pissed off with myself for not asking the difficult questions i.e. how long/what to expect next etc - but he prolly wouldn't have given me a realistic answer anyway. So, it's business as usual and I was stoked to see a mob of eight roo mums and their joeys grazing within 10' of the back door at dusk. Makes yer heart sing it does.[/quote]

Interesting article if you're into photography though.

Tawn, I had similar situation a while ago with a close neighbour whose wife had died about threee months beforehand and he had cancer. So I waould drive him to dr. appointments etc. I did ask the doctor who ummed and ahhhed, finally answered then I quietly asked if I should realistically halve the time he'd given me. Which ended up being about right.

And I don't recommend watching it either. Very sad.

                Evening Undies,

Blondie - I think? you said you were studying Linguistics at Uni ... listened to a great segment on the ABC where a Forensic Linguist talked about her work. Fascinating stuff.
Yes, we covered a bit about that and it does look fascinating (glad that there are real jobs in the field and not another artsy-fartsy indulgence I hear about so often!)

Bridge - re the cheese ... all is forgiven because a significant squadge of Delice de Bourgogne is being devoured as we speak. Bloody brilliant. Anybody old enough to remember this Monty Python classic?

Being no supermodel, I feel less than qualified to say this, but I do find she's a bit too.. muscley.

Techie are you getting suitable care from Voila!?

                        Arvo Undies,

I readily admit to having a big dose of SOL today (that's 'Shit On (the) Liver' = seriously grumpy, for any ovaries not familiar with the expression). The sequence of events has been a tad overwhelming. In recent times - first there was the Boston Marathon stuff, then the Oklahoma Tornado stuff and now the London stuff and that's not even taking into account some random shooting episodes. Apart from any personal embuggerances, these major events just make me question every-bloody-thing. The tornado was an act of nature which sadly we have to cop but the other stuff just does my head in.

I so wanted a dog today. Living with cats is like living with amicable house mates. They keep to themselves, are not annoying, don't make any unnecessary noise and when you do get together once a day, it's a pleasant experience. Living with a dog on the other hand is like living with a lover when you first get together. His eyes light up when you enter a room, he just wants to be near you and please you and make you laugh.

Thank fusk there isn't an animal shelter or lost dogs home near me because I sure as hell would have taken a couple.

Today I craved the company of dogs; animals; small children ... anything that was still innocent of the hideous acts of human behaviour which can and no doubt will continue to overwhelm us.

Techie - rest assured. Cows are plants. And plants are cows. I have a whole paddock full of cows. Noice.

                        Nuff of my drivel ...

                        Next?

                          Pizza with lot's of meat!

                          G'day Techie, g'day mates,

Well I tell's ya, what an absolute corker, bottler, pearler if you will, of a day here bayside. The water was fresh, and I threw me head in baptism style 3 times, for Judith, Keith, and Athol.

Bought myself a new phone, a Samsung. Had to upgrade so I can Skype with Bridget in the car on the way to work, changing the oil, or on those lazy long swims.

                          Have a peaceful night all.

Locust got a new phone today too Mr G. Unfortunately he needs a microsim card to make it work, cant use it tonight and has cranky pants on. He's cooking to get over it.

I'm the keeper of the keys on the TV remote tonight. Going to stay on ABC kids shows as long as I can...
