Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...

Yep! I'm feeling much better today. No more temp.

Jude, what did the x-ray show? Have you heard anything?

Hubby got bad news yesterday. His dry AMD is now wet so will begin injections in his right eye tomorrow. Those will need to continue every five weeks for who knows how long. I'll go with him tomorrow and get my questions answered. He's 73 and has enjoyed great health. This setback has him pretty punky. He'll be better once the first injection is behind him. The unknown is always scary!

I'll take another!

Hi cafe late check in. Ginger I’m glad you are feeling better. Hope your sisters test comes back ok. I’m not getting any more vaccines. Just my personal choice. Jude I hope your antibiotics are helping. We have been busy trying to put a bidet on the toilet, the screws are rusted and we are having a hell of a time trying to loosen them off the old toilet. As Mr R says, a 20 minute job has turned into a 5 hours job with 3 trips to the hardware store!! Ginger we are borrowing a car for this visit. We will see how the summer goes when we drive here. We may be fine with 1 car. Ok back to the toilet, 24 more please!

Ginger, glad that you are feeling better, and hopefully the injections in Mr. G's eye keep the AMD in check. The X-RAY showed that my lungs are in rough shape right now from whatever respiratory virus I have. I also have COPD from the years that I used to smoke. Every day I feel a little better so the meds seem to be doing the trick.

Rava, hope that you were able to fix the toilet!

Looking forward to another 24 hours of freedom...

Jude, I'm glad you are getting better but I do wish you could get better quickly!

Ginger, I'd be a big baby if I had what your hubby has. Prayers for him. I hope it all goes well.

Rava, Mr. D and I have had many experiences where a 20 job takes 5 hours!

24 more for all of us please and thank you.
Dill

The thought of a needle anywhere close to my eye sends shivers down my spine Ginger999, hope the injections help. And good to hear both you and Jude58 are feeling better.

Don't worry Rava, even us ticketed plumbers run into jobs like that lol.

Good morning Cafe! Ginger, hope your hubs does ok with the shots to the eye. Wow just thinking about that makes me cringe!! Hope you feel better each day Jude! We finally got the rusted bolt off the toilet. Grandkids for the night so we will walk down the road with our fishing poles. A sober day for me. Just thinking about drinking sends me into a spiral. It’s too hard to sneak it in this little house. Maybe that’s a good thing!! 24 more please!

Jude, I hope you continue to improve! Struggling to breathe is terrible. Thinking of you!

Rava, glad your toilet project was a success! Plumbing is the worse for delays, imo.

ABC, do you have a lot of winter jobs lined up or are you going to enjoy some down time?

Techie, you're a good man for trying to revive the army thread. I hope those folks return.

Dill, do you have health concerns with the vaccines? If so, I'd love to hear about that.

Headed out of town for the weekend after hubby's appointment. That is, if he still feels up to it. It's a trip he planned so I'll let him decide. If it were me, I'd cancel. I'll take another!

Thank you, Ginger. It is sad really. The Army thread was “the place” at one time. Maybe?

I've decided no more big jobs for me Ginger999. I'll continue doing smaller jobs and some service work, but no more renovations or new construction. Winters are getting colder it seems and I'm perfectly happy to leave my truck sit and stay home lol.

I'll join you for another 24, Jude.

It is too bad about the army thread. It was a unique place. I would imagine they have established a place for themselves elsewhere. I miss their presence.

Ginger, Mr. D has had some health issues that we feel were side effects to the vaccine. It was never stated directly that that was the case, but his hematologist did indicate that there had been blood related issues that became common after the vaccine was widely distributed. Clotting issues are what Mr. D dealt with and it was pretty scary as one made it's way into his lung and he was hospitalized for a night or two. I am not averse to vaccines in general and I have had all the usual ones like measles, mumps, rubella, polio, etc. But these seasonal shots I generally decline because I am blessed with a strong immune system and don't think the risk is worth it for me. I have also read many reports that the risks of the covid vaccine in particular were not adequately reported although they were known by the drug companies. So, not for me. I will continue to get the flu vaccine because I have never had any adverse reactions to it and it's required for hospital staff and volunteers. But that is where I will draw the line.

On a separate subject, I have finally given up on training Lily to accept and stop chasing Pumpkin (the cat). It is to ingrained in her nature. They are going to have to have a separate peace with safe spaces established for Pumpkin.

24 more please and thank you.
