Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Good to hear that Mr J feels better already Jude, hopefully you don't come down with it. Does you sister have any idea when the power will be restored?
Sounds like quite the day you had dill, that's a lot of rain and a long time to be without power. Is it back up and running yet? Then comes the cleanup of those damaged trees...
Sounds like you're trying to simplify your life Ginger, definitely not a dad thing to do as we get older.Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...

Good morning Cafe. Wow Dill sounds like a crazy day. Hopefully the generator is working now or even better your power is back on. This storm was crazy. So many people in so many different states really had a lot of damage. I wish there was something our country could do to shoot something into the clouds and make the storms less intense. Sounds like a science fiction movie. Jude, glad the hubby is feeling better. Ginger, I understand about the idea of renting being easier. We through that at first too but the rentals got to be quite expensive for what we wanted and we are not picky people. I guess no one takes care of a place like you take care of your own. I wish you luck with whatever you decide. Cowboy thanks for the great breakfast. Today we have breakfast with grand daughter then start our 7 hour drive home. Hopefully will be back by dark. Wishing everyone a great and sober day. 24 more please!

Rava, when you say home, do you mean Florida? Sorry. I must have missed something.
Thanks for breakfast, ABC. Dill, sorry you're left with work after the storm passing through. Sounds like it was a doozy. Hopefully, the power comes back on today!
Stay well, Jude!I'll take another day of freedom

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. Our power was restored last night but the internet is still out.
Ginger, I think simplifying and down-sizing are good ideas. Keep it Simple, I say!
Jude, I'm glad to hear Mr. J is feeling better. Hope you manage to stay well.
Thanks for that yummy breakfast!
24 more for all of us please and thank you.
Dill

Like Ginger, I sometimes get confused about where you are Rava. It reminds me of the Where in the World is Carmen Sandiega.
It is still gray and rainy here. We got another inch yesterday so now we are up to 4". Picking up limbs will take some time but we got a good start on it yesterday. Praying for those affected by the storm all across the south and up into our area as well.
24 more for all of us please and thank you.

Hope you had a safe trip home Rava, to whichever one you headed to lol.
That's a lot of rain dill, hopefully things will get back to normal once you get everything cleaned up and all is working again.
We had a bit of rain yesterday afternoon, nothing like you guys in the east, but enough to shut us down once again. I headed back to Veg to have supper and spend the night with Bubba. We should be able to resume harvest sometime this afternoon but we'll have to switch to standing canola as the swathed stuff will take a bit longer to dry out.Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. Good morning Cafe. Sorry I was not clear. We drove to my granddaughters college which was 7 hours away. Then came back north. I am not returning to Florida for another month. The hurricane season is too active for us! Dill, I hope things get back to normal for you and your internet gets restored. Watching the news and seeing all the devastation is heartbreaking. Hurricanes are no joke!. Hope everyone has a great Monday. 24 more please and thank you.

Rava, thanks for clarifying! Man, you have grands all over! Crazy, all mine, including the greats are within 20 min of our home here in WA. I'm the only one that has the wanderlust and that seems to be fading. Lol
Headed out this morning for my fall sister tripI'm in for another 24!

know someone that lives in NC close to Ashville and am relieved to finally hear that he's ok (though a tree did land on his house), after seeing some of those catastrophic images of that area and the ever climbing death toll. Some places in that area apparently got 29" of rain, that's hard to fathom.Last edited by Mulburry; September 30, 2024, 09:28 PM.

Good morning Cafe. Watching the news and still in shock about the flooding. So very sad. No plans for today as it’s supposed to be rainy and cloudy. Hope everyone has a great and sober day. 24 more please and thank you.
