5:25am in Alberta, I'll have 24 more please, and thanks...

In the last 24 hours, these friends have signed in for 24 hours of wellness:
    Jude58 Rava Ginger999 dill Slo

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

I sometimes have a bit of trouble with the site as well Rava, not like you seem to be having though. I sometimes get a little yellow box at the top that sats "working..." when I hit the post reply button. I'm not sure how much longer MWO will be around, I see we're the only active thread left here.

I started drinking in the mornings as well Jude near the end of my drinking days. I just can't imagine going back to those days ever again.

It's too bad they can't come up with some sort of answer to your pain Slo, living like that can't be fun at all.

Never mind it's the end of another week Ginger, it's also the start of another month. It's supposed to be another beautiful day here, March is coming in like a lamb for us, hopefully it doesn't go out like a lion.

I got it to work! (posting photos)
The ones in the dining room are unfortunately blackout, and besides the white that they selected being too drab, the room and therefore whole condo is rendered way too dark. The only way to get any light in is to keep them wide open, which is too cold in the Winter. I would need to get windows replaced.

The one in the bedroom looks like a canvas drop cloth was tacked over the window. Plus, it is now colder in that room.

Just posted them for curiosity’s sake. I won’t speak of it anymore.

We cross posted Slo, maybe just adding some color in the form of curtain toppers would help. We have much the same in our house except we have the curtain toppers.

I get the yellow “working” tab too, Cowboy. And I have to refresh my MWO tab often, not just leave it open; or it will glitch.

Thanks for the reminder of what life was like on the hamster wheel. I hadn’t quite turned into a morning drinker yet, but by afternoon, especially when the witching hour hit, I would get started.

I think my sister is managing a big chunk of sober time right now! My brother, I can tell that he starts drinking in the morning. The last time I saw him, he must’ve face-planted; because he had sores all along the right side of his face.
The two siblings that Mommy Dearest bothered to love? Oh, they’re thriving. Even the one that “takes” to alcohol, like a duck to water.

I’m not going back to that! 24 more AF hours, please.

Slo, if it were me, I'd add shears in the living room. That way I'd be able to raise those blinds and get some filtered light but still have some privacy. The bedroom, I'd add a valance over the Roman shade to pretty things up. Oh and at my age, I'd crank up the heat if I were cold. Hell, we are blessed with electricity, why not be comfortable? Your place looks lovely!

ABC, are we really the only active thread left? I've never looked beyond our little corner of the cyber world. That's not sustainable. Im glad we have your backup site.

Waves to all!! I'll take another day of freedom

Wow, Cowboy. It's been a while since I looked at other threads on MWO. I had no idea it was so empty. Where did everyone go? I guess you used to post on Newbies Nest and saw things gradually fading away. But I am kind of shocked somehow. I thought so many of those folks would keep posting forever.

Slo, I think that the window shades look fine, maybe add a topper for some color.

I've also noticed the yellow box that says "working", cowboy. I also never know when my post will disappear after hitting the reply button. I wouldn't be surprised if one day MWO is no longer available. Thankfully, we have a backup site. Slo do you know about this? Cowboy setup a web page called We quit drinking which we will use if this site goes belly up.

I'm in for another 24 hours of serenity...

I agree with previous comments, Slo. Your window treatments are very nice and actually along the lines of what I would choose for myself. In fact we have something similar in our kitchen on our patio doors. Just maybe add a splash of color or contrast in a valence perhaps if you feel something more is needed. Ginger's suggestion of sheers was a good one too, and easily affordable.

Cowboy, perhaps it would be a good idea for you to include a link to your other site for Slo and anyone else that still needs it. I appreciate the access to it and as you know, I join you there everyday now. I love your daily quotes!

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you,
