Cowboy, thanks for that wonderful breakfast yesterday! It was great. I love leisurely Sunday mornings.
I have a board meeting today for the auxiliary volunteer group at the hospital. The meetings focus will be on various things that we need to do to wind down the organization as the hospital is shutting down its operations. We are in limbo right now as a community because the offer of the medical services provider to shut down and raise the building, then build a new stand-alone emergency care center has not been signed onto by the local city council. My preference would be for the hospital to remain open, but that is not going to happen. I'm concerned that the local government officials are going to dither around too long, and the provider will take the emergency care center off the table. At my age, an available emergency care center is more important than ever, so I hope this situation gets resolved before it's too late. Life is change and change is hard for most of us.
24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.Dill
Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

PS-thank you for including the link to your site in your post yesterday, Cowboy. I get that yellow box "working" message every day now and I am very concerned that we must have a back up plan in place for everyone that wants to continue to be able to stay in touch. The "working" message seems to take longer each time. I hope everyone bookmarks your site.Dill

I wonder what happened to MWO? It used to have so many active threads and it's such a shame that this site is now a skeleton of its former self.
Dill, that's too bad about your local hospital will be shutting down in the future. It's tough when you live in a rural area like we do with the nearest hospital is 30 miles away.
So....not today!

Good morning and Dill I hope your hospital situation all works out. Change is hard but can be good. I also hope this website stays. It’s been such a help to so many of us throughout the years. Today I have dental surgery so I am a bit nervous but also glad to get it over with. Hope everyone has a safe and sober day. 24 more please and thank you.

You don’t understand how cold my bedroom is now without the old wooden blinds. I am in a northern climate. Turning the heat up doesn’t help enough. I need all new windows. A decorative topper isn’t going to do it. And in my main living area, the two choices -thanks to the blackout feature -is either dark as a tomb or freezing in Winter. Oh well. Let’s drop it.
I am done driving my mother all over the state this weekend to attend a great grandchild’s baptism. She paid for one of the tanks of gas, so that helped. I enjoyed staying over at my brother & sister-in-law’s house and getting to visit with my nephews and their wives, my sis-in-law’s parents et all -the bosom of family. It still didn’t feel good at all to be there just as a chauffeur though.
That is so frustrating about the hospital closing, Dill; but more so that the emergency center isn’t getting approved in its place. They need to act on that!
24 more hours please.

Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.

Do you know for sure when the hospital doors will close dill? No matter what they build on the site, I imagine construction will take at least a year or two if it's anything like up here.
At least you got to see lots of relatives Slo, even though it wasn't quite the way you wanted.
Good luck with the dental surgery this morning Rava, it's time for me to get off my butt and make an appointment for new teeth.
I'm not sure what happened to MWO Jude, but everyone is welcome over at the other site if this place closes.Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...

I'm sorry about your window situation, Slo. But more so, your family situation.
Dill, I hope this hospital thing is resolved before they lose the chance for a replacement. ABC is spot on with the time frame for construction. Fingers crossed the city will make a decision before it's too late!
Greetings to all. I'll take another day of freedom!

The days are finally getting longer, and we are coming out the other side of the dark & cold of Winter!
Yes, I did enjoy the visit with relatives, Cowboy. And I enjoyed visiting with a nephew’s FIL, an age mate of mine.
I haven’t been able to exercise for a couple months as I underwent brain training and neuro exercises to overcome imbalances in how my brain processes information (mostly from being left crooked for 5 years after the knee replacement revision).
I am cleared now to go back to trying to swim, and I went swimming yesterday -and I was able to swim laps for 30 minutes with total ease and joy! It was wonderful!
Unlike when I first joined this athletic club in January, and was trying to go swimming, and was struggling badly.
I am healing!!
I am worried that we are going to see more of this happening in our country (rural hospitals closing down).
Rava, I cross-posted with you yesterday. Ouch! Surely hope that the dental surgery was a success, and that you heal quickly.
I intend for another day of freedom!

Rava, how'd the dental surgery go?
Slo, that's wonderful about your swimming experience!
Waves to all!
We are off on a little get away until Friday. We are headed south of Tucson to check out a couple of old mines and caves. We also hope to drive up to Mount Lemon.
Life is good! I'll take another day of freedom
