Slo, I'm so sorry that you are having feelings of hopelessness and loss. Are you seeing a therapist at all? I've found that when I focus on past, the present becomes an unhappy place to be. Being grateful is a wonderful tool to have when battling addiction and depression and I use it often.

Rava, I know what you mean about the abundance of old people in Florida. I once heard someone say that Florida is God's waiting room. I couldn't believe how many fancy Dr.'s offices there are down there. There were a lot of dermatologists, dentists, plastic surgeons, veterinarians and dog groomers. (Gotta keep those little poofy dogs looking sharp.) I only saw one funeral home on the main drag, so I guess that most of them are discreetly hidden. Don't need any reminders of eternal rest among the elderly.

Slo, I am sorry you are struggling so with the losses you have endured in the past. I can surely understand how you are feeling. Like Jude, I am wondering if you have ever tried therapy. Maybe you could ask your doc for a referral instead of/in addition to the increased medication.

Mr. D's back went out a few days ago and it is a reality check for me. In the winter if your back goes out there's a little latitude. Nothing growing outside, no mowing, etc. But in this spring and summer there is so much to be done. Mr. D has been working on the fencing. I've been helping but I'm really not much help. I don't know, but I think he has been doing too much and that triggered this bout with his back. There's a lot to living out here on the farm and I am wondering how much longer we can manage it.

Have you and Mr D ever discussed selling and moving to a place that wasn't so much work dill? I was heartbroken when I realized Bubba and I wouldn't be building and moving out to the farm, but in hindsight I guess things worked out the way they did for a reason. Hope Mr D's back gets better soon.

Sounds like a tough situation for you Slo, but try and remind yourself that things will get better.

Good morning Cafe and Happy Sunday. Slo, I am so sorry that you are struggling. I hope you can sort it out. I am glad that you have family close by that you can visit. It’s important to stay connected with people and just show up. I will be hoping you feel better very soon. Dill I am sorry Mr D hurt his back. Having a farm is so much work. You both would probably hate a little condo because you sacrifice your privacy for little to no maintenance. Luckily our neighbors are not intrusive and are pretty quiet. Cowboy, thanks so much for today’s breakfast! As usual, you outdid yourself. Jude, they call it Heavens Waiting room here too. The amount of old people (including myself) is crazy. Car accidents galore. Half these. People should not even be driving. Literal roll overs in parking lots daily. How in the hell do you roll your car upside down in a parking lot? Hi to Ginger!!! I had a nice day with Huxley for 7 hours, and his parents enjoyed their restorative time to be together as a couple. We went to the park, the play place, a McDonald’s with a play area, and I managed a walk outside with him in my neighborhood as well.

I need to drive the three hours this morning to Young Daughter’s college swim banquet. Ex-HB will be there too. I am dizzy & weak this morning, so having a hard time getting ready to go. A day of driving will be good, as a day of sitting is more manageable for me.

Ugh, I probably should see a therapist.

I remember how heartbroken you were to have to leave the farm as your home, Cowboy. So glad that you are ok now with living in the town.
Dill, yeah: tough decisions to make about maybe needing to move & downsize.

Interesting observations about Florida, Jude!
You have gotten good at practicing gratitude. My present will be bad if I’m stuck in the past. I need to remember that.

Thanks for breakfast, Cowboy. Things will get better…but it takes a long time to heal from vitamin B6 toxicity nerve damage (2-3 years at least).

Good morning all. Sorry I've been kinda absent. Still so busy around here! But im thankful for all of it.

The thumb failed after the knee because I quite hiking and started more hand related crafting/art activities. It's just more osteoarthritis. It's everywhere. Oh well, it could be worse!

Dill, I hope Mr D mends quickly. That's a lot of work for one person to keep up with.

We sold the 5th wheel. I wanted a "she shed" to replace it but I'm starting to move away from that idea. It would just create more up keep and I'm really not able to do hard labor anymore. Lol

Dill, I'm sorry to hear about Mr. D's back problems, and I hope that he feels better soon. Have you thought of hiring someone to help with the farm work? It sounds as though a lot of us are feeling the effects of aging body parts these days.

Rava, rollovers in parking lots? How. does one even do that?

Ginger, so glad that you sold the fifth wheel, one less thing to worry about.

Good morning Cafe. Ginger, congrats on selling the 5th wheel. As Jude says, thats one less thing to worry about! Jude, no clue how you roll a car upside down in a parking lot, but believe me it’s a daily occurrence here. Slo, you certainly had a busy Sunday with Huxley. More energy than me. Glad you were able to spend some quality time together. Dill, I am glad Mr. Dill is moving around better. I have been going thru the condo this weekend and getting rid of stuff we don’t use or need. Straightening drawers and thinning out clothing. I like to leave it all tidy before heading north. We have to put all of our outside furniture inside and clear all loose pots, etc for hurricane prep. We are very busy with doc appointments before we leave. Always so much to do. Hope everyone has a good Monday. 24 more please and thank you.

Nice that the 5th wheel sold so quickly Ginger, and no, you don't need anything to fill up that space and create more work for you lol.

It's always good to declutter Rava, we have a lot of that to do as well in the future. Won't be long now before you head north and be with all the family again.

Glad the 5th wheel sold, Ginger! I agree that you don’t need more upkeep. Well, at least I am struggling with upkeep.

Do you all do your own house-cleaning, or do you hire in a cleaning service? I am still having a hard time with it all, especially given my limitations.

Had a very nice time with my daughter at her swim banquet. Being there with her and ex-HB, I felt like myself again. It was so familiar.
Later, I took her & her friend out for dinner; a special dinner for her birthday. My baby turns 22 today! She is in the full flower of youth & beauty.
The drive was beautiful, through stunning nature settings and farms in valleys.

Rava, that’s a good idea to declutter while packing up. Lots of work though, like Ginger just went through too.

Hopefully Mr. D heals up quickly.

Morning all. Off to workout, gimpy and all. Lol Dill glad hubby is feeling a bit better. Slo, I still clean my own place. I'm kinda fussy about my environment. Rava, I feel for you. Wrapping up for the season is a workout in itself. You're so right, ABC! I don't need an extra building to keep up. It's a good flat spot with full hook up, if anyone wants to come camp in Washington! Jude, are you all settled back in?
