Thanks for coffee and breakfast yesterday cowboy and dill! Yummy!

Yes, the knee scooter was a lifesaver for me, especially when I had to go to doctors appointments, shopping or whatever. Using crutches was painful for me so the scooter was a good alternative for getting around.

Rava, so glad that you didn't drink at the party. Waking up hangover free the next day is priceless.

Here's to another twenty four hours of freedom for all of us...

Rava, what a great achievement for you, getting thru that party and not falling into the usual trap. That's got to feel good!

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Good Morning and Happy Monday Cafe. Thanks for the encouraging words. Now I have 3 wedding to get thru in the next 3 months. I am taking them one wedding at a time. Planning on drinking something sparkly from a wine glass. That seems to help me feel better and blend in more easily. Slo, I hope you are able to find a scooter to help you get around. Wishing everyone a sober day. 24 more please and thank you!

Great job and getting through the party Rava, I have no doubt you'll get through the weddings AF as well.

It sounds to me like the knee scooter is just the thing for you Slo. How was the bridal shower?

I'm off to the city today to pick up some material for the HRV system in the cabin. Adam and I are headed up there Wednesday evening after he gets off work as the insulation and drywall is getting delivered on Thursday and he'll need a hand unloading that. I also arranged to have the plumbing inspection done Thursday as well to save an extra trip.

Waves to the rest of the gang!

ABC, I love the cabin updates! Have fun working with Adam. I bet you enjoy it so much, it's not even like work.

Rava, great pre-planning! I'm happy it worked out well for you. Can I ask, when you retired to your bedroom with your kindle, did you have to make an excuse to slip away or did you go quietly? Just looking for ideas.

Slo, if you try a knee scooter, get a good one. Last thing you need is a fall. If your doctor prescribes it, insurance will pay for it, I bet. I know my insurance will but they obviously aren't all the same.

Jude, are you still looking into volunteering? I sure hope so. I know our clinic here is always looking for willing volunteers. With you, they'd not only get willing, they'd get experience. I know it would help your heart too.

Dill, hope you have a great day, whatever you're up to. Hi Mul!

Let's all enjoy this day with freedom from poison!

Walmart and Walgreens and CVS didn’t have knee scooters. I’ll have to try a medical supply store. I can’t even get insurance to cover the podiatrist. I have a big bill from him. They tell him he’s in network, and me that he’s out of network. Thanks for advice to get a good scooter, Ginger.

I enjoyed the shower, especially seeing people from my past that I don’t see much anymore, and sitting with D3’s friend’s mom. She sure is kind.
Getting around on crutches was hard though.

I’m up at D1’s now. I am kinds being short & inpatient with the kids though, as I can’t get around very well at all, and am in pain. It was hard to babysit them all alone while their mom was at her doctor appointment. This is frustrating.
I love being here though! Much better than being at home. D1 is so tired with her pregnancy (12 weeks along) that she is knocked out for a nap with Cooper now.

You’re being a good “project manager” at Adam’s cabin, Cowboy!

                  Good morning all!

Ginger, I submitted a volunteer form yesterday and sent it in. Yesterday I got a text asking me to call them today and I'm thrilled. It's a good way for me to help others and myself as well, and I'm looking forward to it.

Slo, that stinks about not being able to get a scooter at your local pharmacy. I bet that you could find one at Amazon, and it wouldn't hurt to look around at other places as well. I've never heard of needing a prescription for it, and I just went into the pharmacy and bought one. I was looking for a nebulizer once because I have crappy lungs. Everywhere I looked required a prescription except Amazon and that's exactly where I bought one. Wouldn't hurt to look.

                  Waves to all!

Twenty four more please and thank you!

That's exciting news, Jude! I can't wait to hear how your call went!

I looked again on Walmart for knee scooters. There are a variety of them available and I didn't see any requirement for a prescription. Maybe that's just if you want insurance to cover some of the cost?

                      Hi Rava, Cowboy and Ginger!

Let's all have another 24 together.

I'm betting with your background Jude they'll be more than happy to have you as a volunteer!

This cabin build has been a pretty slow project Ginger only being able to work on it 12 - 16 hours a week, but we'll eventually get it done lol.

Looks like there's lots of different models of those knee scooters Slo, I also saw them on Amazon.

It's raspberry and saskatoon season up here, do any of you pick and preserve raspberries? Both little jobs I was at in the last couple of days saw the wives picking and cleaning raspberries. And both offered to send some home with me which I gladly accepted.

I'm sorry, I meant if you wanted the scooter paid for by insurance, you'd need a prescription. Sorry I wasn't clear.

Jude, they're going to love you! You'll be volunteering before you know it! Do you have a time limit you want to stick to a week? I bet they'd take you every day, if they could.

ABC, Adam is lucky to have you!

Hi Rava, Dill, Slo, Mul! I'll take another day of freedom

Good morning Cafe. I am off to a late morning as I went to exercise class before posting. Ginger, My excuse for the party that it was time for some quiet time. Thats all I said and quietly went upstairs. There were over 30 kids there so it was understood that this old girl had had enough. Jude, looking forward to hearing how your volunteer call went. Hope everyone has a good day! 24 more please and thanks.

I love raspberries but we unfortunately don't have nearly enough raspberries to preserve but...... blackberry season is just starting and there are so many (wild) blackberries all around; I'll definitely go pick a bunch. We don't really preserve them as such but we make the extra into freezer jam (use very little sugar to keep it healthy) and "preserve" them that way!
